About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- laura92190 contributionsBeyond fantastic! This tour was amazing, everything was organised efficiently and our guide, Rin, was beyond fantastic. Rin had an impressive knowledge of all of our tour activities and Australia in general. Rin was enthusiastic, welcoming and accommodating. The lookouts were impressive and everything we did was definitely a must-do!Written February 4, 2024
- RoamingReeda990 contributionsTour of the Blue MountainsThe small group tour to the Blue Mountains through Anderson Tours was a fun day and I highly recommend it. Our tour driver & guide Steve made the whole day memorable. He shared his vast knowledge of the area while taking us to our sites. He was very diligent in ensuring that everyone was having a good time. Steve was highly experienced, respectful and friendly. He crafted the days itinerary to ensure all sites were visible due to weather conditions. Also of note was the day before the tour my husband had a medical issue. They refunded his tour money without us asking. Also they repeatedly asked about his health status. It is obvious that Anderson’s is a very thorough & thoughtful organization. This trip provided an amazing experience during our time in Sydney.Written February 4, 2024

I am not sure where to start because the tour is great but I had a terrible experience because of my driver so I’m torn.
The actual tour is great, worth the cost. We had perfect weather that only made it better.
The company seems very reputable and they were easy to contact regarding pick up location.
The driver we had Kat was rude, didn’t help accommodate me and my daughter to sit near each other on the bus when we were the last ones on and talked none stop without so much as a breath for an hour and forty minutes from 7:30 am until our first pit stop. She invited a gang up on me and my daughter group mentality on the bus where other passengers vocally abused us and cheered when we got off.
The second driver Mark (we were allowed to switch buses at the first stop) was an absolute delight. He provided information and shared knowledge of the area we travelled. He was professional and made an effort to acknowledge everyone on the bus throughout the day.
The management team offered me a free koala experience (valued at $25) for my humiliation and advised they would talk to Kat about her behaviour. I didn’t ask for anything and thought this was decent yet honestly not enough for the fact that their driver was mainly the problem.

Thank you for your valuable review. We are so sorry about the saddening incident that occurred, we have talked to Kat about it and it has been brought to her serious attention. We are so happy to hear that you and your daughter enjoyed the rest of the time with our awesome guide Mark, and hopefully you get to take home some lovely memories of the Aussie attractions we offer! Best wishes!

Booked this quite late as wasn’t sure if the bush fires would impact the tour but we needn’t have worried. Apart from a bit of haze left over from the smoke in the air, we still enjoyed some spectacular views at each look out! Was such a great day from start to finish. Our guide Robert was very knowledgable and really made the day for us. The timing for everything was spot on, we had plenty of time at each stop and our pre-selected lunch was ready as soon as we arrived at the restaurant! Compared to all the individual costs of the entrance fees plus the ferry trip at the end this tour was also great value and would definitely recommend it if you’re limited for time. Only downside was we didn’t get to hear our guide Robert play his ukulele!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our all inclusive tour to the Blue Mountains. Our tour guide Mark was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable providing our small group with lots of facts and information. Pick up at a local Hotel was punctual and the time schedule for the day ran to time. The inclusive lunch in Katoomba was excellent with great meal choices and our trip to the Featherdale Wildlife Park was amazing. Overall I would highly recommend this tour as it's excellent value for money, you get to see lots of different places and the whole tour is very well organised. Big thumbs up 👍

Our tour to the Blue Mountains was great- and a big part of that was because of our tour guide Steve. He was educated on the history of the Blue Mountains, from the town, to the mining history. He was well organized and kept our group on a good schedule. It was more relaxing having him drive as well since in Australia they drive on the other side of the car (and road). It was smoky during our visit because of all the brushfires, and our views of the Blue Mountains (looking out over them) was hindered somewhat by this, but I would still recommend this tour to folks looking to visit Australia because of the information you can gather while being with a tour guide. I also loved that we got to take so many different kinds of transport! The Mining-Train is a real thrill! I think my favorite part was the FeatherDale Wildlife Park though, our guide knew to take us to the park (during feeding hours) so that we could see the animals awake and engaged in their natural behaviors- which really made for a much better experience than your standard trip to a zoo. Would absolutely recommend.

We went on this trip with our excellent tour guide, Steve. Had a great day with lots of activities & sights. The day ended well with a boat trip from Olympic Park to Darling Harbour. Steve was extremely informative , humorous and very attentive to all of us. It was lovely to mix with people from all around the world, great value for the price and we highly recommended this tour. Scenic World was standout!

Our daylong tour was one of the best we’ve experienced, in no small part due to our guide, Kat. She provided informed, amusing, nuanced, detailed commentary about an incredibly wide range of All Things Australia subjects. The tour itinerary was first rate, supplying diverse, fun, enjoyable, thoughtful experiences in a variety of settings and modes. Even lunch was good. This tour is an absolute must when visiting Sydney.

Full day of fun! Easy paced. Well organized. Breakfast is on you, but lunch is included. Good variety to choose from. You pre-select from a menu and it is ready for u when you reach. Mark, our guide was great! Professional, yet friendly, had lots to share, showed flexibility within the itinerary to be responsive to customer needs......He offered cold water after crossing the forest, when it was most needed! Very thoughtful and nice gesture! The scenic world was great! Tickets are included. You get to experience Rain Forest of the Blue Mountains - walk to look out points, travel by Cable seeing tree tops and across the forest, by rail on world's highest incline! Featherdale was great too! Feed Kangaroo, hold Koala and get a photo taken, See Penguins, Reptiles, Only one thing to worry about....hope you do not get a seat on top of rear wheels......Luckily, our tour was not full, so the person sitting in that seat could change the seat. You get seated based on your pick up location. Hope they always have a spare seat! We had a little mix up regarding which of the 2 vans will be picking us up, but, other than that, we had a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend.

It’s sad to see the tourism rates decline with the recent and unfortunate wildfires. Anderson’s Tours did a fantastic job at keeping us safe and well aware of the fire’s extent and location while also keeping conversation lively and interactive. If I could return to Sydney, I would book another tour with them. If you can choose, Steven was amazing!
We went through the Blue Mountains and hiked in various locations while also having enough breaks in between hikes to rejuvenate. We all ate lunch together as well! Following the hikes, we went to the Featherdale Wildlife Park which was amazing. Such a fun time! My heart goes out to those affected by the tragic fires💙

Our day to the Blue Mountains with Adam was perfect. One of the best tour guides from any tour I've ever been on in my travels. He was extremely knowledgeable but was cracking jokes the entire time.
The Blue Mountains were gorgeous. The Scenic World "rides" were great (but were too short!). The trip to Featherdale was kind of underwhelming, mostly because we went to Hartley's in Cairns where we actually got to hold koalas and see more animals up close. It's sort of funny because you see the same other tour groups at each spot, and then every tour ends on the same ferry (not a "cruise") back to Sydney.
There are pros and cons to a "small group" tour. They only have 20 people max, but the van only holds 20 people. That means the van is packed and cramped, and some people were forced to sit separate from their companions. On the other hand, we were close to the guide and got a more personal experience. I'd take the small group and hope that it's not sold out.

Anderson’s tours Is a first rate company and this was a fun tour. Both the mountains, viewed from many directions and angles, and our guide, Adam, were terrific. We stopped at several lookouts on an amazingly clear day and the gondola ride and the steep mining railroad descent were fun. The animal stop was underwhelming and we visited a much better animal sanctuary outside of Hobart Tasmania, but it was a minor part of the trip. Adam provided lively and at times irreverent commentary throughout the trip and it was clear he loved sharing Australian history and geography and the Blue mountains with us. My wife and I were traveling on our own and this trip gave us a much better sense of the Blue Mountains than we could have attained on our own. The group of twenty worked well in part because of Adam’s storytelling that went well beyond the focus of the trip.

Hi, is there any point in the tour in the Blue Mountains that we will have free time to hike on our own? Or are we with the group and guide the entire time? We are somewhat active and we are making a decision to pursue on our own OR use this highly rated tour...

In our case, there was a traffic delay due to roadside accident. The driver made phone calls with the other drivers in order to get the update road info and adjusted our schedule ending in a visit to local zoo for koala experience, which made a delay for the whole trip. In the end, the driver dropped us at the Olympic park(not at the city center where we started out trip) at around 5:15pm. He bought us ferry tickets(leaving at 5:40pm or so) for the circular Quay. When we arrived at the Quay, it was after 6pm.

At the beginning of the tour we were given a menu from the restaurant we would be eating. Each chose the food we wanted for lunch so it would be ready when we got there. Some options were Fish and Chips, sandwiches, salads etc.

There are toilets at all stops - tip go there first because with the line ups that form you’ll miss out seeing things if you don’t. At scenic you might have to wait until the end.
