We had a great day on the Beer and Brewery Tour. We originally wanted the Wine Beer and Spirits, but couldn't be accommodated so the Brewery Tour was offered with no extra cost. They were very helpful in organizing this for us. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I certainly enjoyed most of the beers. We had a great group of people which made it a fun day. Our lunch at the Rocks Brewery was delicious and so was the beer! Our tour guide was Colin and his knowledge of all things beer was outstanding. I now know what beers/stouts have hops and which have barley. Thank you Colin and Daves Tours for an all-round great Day.

We had a great tour with Dave (Greg) through the pubs of The Rocks. He is entertaining and very knowledgeable about both the history of the area and beer. He also went above and beyond to help me with secure a wayward package from a non-responsive Uber driver. Thanks, Greg! Would highly recommend for travelers and locals looking for a fun and informative afternoon.

Don't have a beard and way too old to be a hipster, but love hops. I now also love Dave's Beer Tours, as this was a great day out in Marrickville/Newtown with host Terry.
After a very interesting intro covering off questions such as 'first beer drunk and at what age?', 'what's in your fridge?' and 'favourite style?', we very quickly arrived at our first venue, Batch Brewing. This was a great start to the tour as the crew there were full production mode, The tasting flight covered a good spectrum from a sour, an xpa, a nitro ipa, through to a nitro milk stout.
Next stop was an early lunch at the 'Hanson', a popular community local where a hearty pub meal was washed down with a lovely neipa, also brewed locally by Willie The Boatman.
Then on to one of my current craft favourites, Sauce. It was here that the group, formed pretty much entirely by hop heads, began wield some influence on Terry, as we lined up a hazy galaxy pale ale and the superb bubble & squeak in addition to the berlinner weiss, sampled in a huge covered beer garden at the rear.
By the time we reached our final venue, Young Henrys, the place was already gearing up for a busy Friday night, making for a superb atmosphere at hipster central. We had a awesome time sampling their natural lager, double towner pale ale, free the neipa and the ipa, interspersed with convivial conversation around craft beer and american politics.
Terry dropped us back in town at the Royal Albert - great host, great company, great beers.

The brewery choices were really good, and the tour guide was very knowledgable. We got to watch the brewmaster do some of his work up close which was really interesting. Although we enjoyed the beers, we look forward to coming back when the IPA's are a little better.

I’m not really a beer drinker but my partner and friends enjoy trying craft beers. So I thought this would be a fun thing to do for his birthday!
Robin and Danielle took us to Batch, Sauce and Young Henry’s. Got to try some great beers and they opened my eyes to some different styles - I even bought some takeaways to enjoy at home 😉
Very informative commentary on the evolution of beer and some banter throughout the tour. I think I would like to do it again sometime.
Highly recommended.

Terry was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the brewing process. His Dad-jokes were pretty terrible but in a good way.
For our tastes I think there was a little too much information, particularly at the second brewery Modus Operandi where after a long drive we just wanted to enjoy a few drinks and the very nice food.
Towards the end of the tour I think he started to realise this and the provision of drinks picked up pace, and the spiel lessened giving us a better chance of enjoying the brew houses, each others company and the day overall.

G'day Liam
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent brewery tour with Terry. Our guides always to find the balance between BEERducation and relaxation, and at times, it can be challenging to know exactly what the group wants more of. In this case, it's great to hear Terry adjusted his approach as the tour progressed, and that you had an enjoyable day. Cheers

We joined Terry and a small group of beet lovers for a great afternoon full of good beer and traveler's tales, swapping recommendations and enjoying the expressions on faces ad we sampled a mixture of pale ale, sours, up as,cap, lagers and around from three local breweries around the Marickville area. The consumption was broken up by relatively short walks with some great commentary along the way. Our host Terry provided some excellent comments covering beer types and brewing techniques and if you were a novice at the start you would feel fairly proficient in the brewing process by the end of the afternoon. Beers to suit all tastes and a great sample of craft beer in Sydney in 2020.

Thanks heaps for letting us know how much you enjoyed your walking brewery tour of Marrickville. This is one of our newer tours and provides great behind the scenes access to the breweries, along with fascinating BEERducation you wouldn't get by going it alone. It's great to hear everyone was adventurous, and entertained by the mixture of beer styles. Terry is a fantastic guide, who is passionate about all things beer, and loves sharing his extensive knowledge. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to him. Cheers
