Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden Tour from Salzburg
US$67.30
Overview
Journey through the stunning scenery of the Bavarian Alps on this half-day tour of the Eagle’s Nest, Hitler’s former mountain retreat, from Salzburg. Led by an expert guide, pass Hellbrunn Castle and the Konigsee River Valley as you travel to Obersalzburg. After bypassing the crowds with a skip-the-line ticket, soak up incredible views from the top of the mountain. Your tour will conclude with transportation back across the border to Salzburg.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in Mirabellplatz in central Salzburg. Hop aboard your coach and begin your journey, passing the historic Hellbrunn Castle before crossing the border into Bavaria. Gaze out at the alpine scenery as you travel along the Konigsee River Valley and mountains peppered with farmhouses.

Arrive at the mountainside hamlet of Obersalzburg. Snake up the scenic road on a brief shuttle ride, passing the mountain of Hoher Göll. Then, debark and step inside a World War II-era elevator made from brass, which once transported Hitler’s guests to the Eagle’s Nest. At the top, bypass the crowds with a direct access ticket and enter the complex.

Built for Hitler’s 50th birthday, wander the site with your guide, learning the history behind it as you go. Soak up the incredible views as you look out from a perch of some 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) above ground.

Afterward, visit the charming town of Berchtesgaden to explore independently and purchase lunch. Your half-day excursion will conclude with drop-off at your original departure point in Salzburg.

Brilliant eagles nest tour

Walter was an excellent tour guide, always quick with a joke. We had perfect weather so our views were breathtaking.

Visit to Eagle’s nest

Great trip and great tour. Beautiful view from the Eagle’s nest. Very impressive. Only felt that we had to rush during the whole trip/tour, and some more historic information during the day would have been nice.

Great tour with Panorama tours. Enjoyable climbing, with a great view of the Alps and surrounding area. Great people that I met. The lift was monitored by the guides, and ample time to see the teahouse and sit on the rocks, gazing into the valley...More
