What to expect
Your snowmobile adventure begins with pickup from Gullfoss Café, located beside the natural wonder of Gullfoss Waterfall. Board a climate-controlled vehicle here and drive to Europe’s second largest glacier. Each snowmobile can accommodate one driver — who must hold a valid driver’s license — so decide who’ll be taking the wheel during your safety briefing on arrival at the Langjökull glacier. Then, once you feel suitably prepared, set off on a ride past the frozen crater lakes and icy landscapes of the glacier. On a clear day, you’ll be able to see Eiriksjökull glacier, Hofsjökull glacier, and the Kerlingafjöll mountain range in the distance. Following your adventure, return to base camp to change and then relax during the return ride to Gullfoss Café, where your tour concludes.

Amazing experience
Mar 2020 • Couples
Fantastic experience not to be missed, pick up was uncomplicated (a little bit of hanging around for people wanting the loo or stuff from the shop), brilliant driver (Steve) took us in the amazing truck to the glacier. We were met by a great team, all equipment included, quick and concise instruction on how to use the snowmobile, final check of helmet, and off we went. You can pick if you want to go near the back for a slower ride or up front for a quicker ride, there are 3 instructors looking after the group. Arrive at an ice cave for a very informative and ‘wow’ visit inside the cave. You can then swap drivers if you want for an exhilarating ride back! Hot drinks and biscuits before the trip back in the truck to the pick up point (which is an experience in itself)! Would absolutely recommend.

Great fun
Nov 2019 • Couples
We were picked up at Gulfoss in a huge truck (much needed due to the weather conditions) and transported to the glacier. We had a great time - good opportunities to speed up a little for whoever wanted to, but also the opportunity to hang back and go slower if needed. The guides and drivers were excellent, very informative and helpful. There are a few slightly negative points: We were there prior to the departure time and ready to leave at 2pm. Others were not so prompt and we did not leave until 20 minutes later. This obviously knocked all our timings on. Maybe a policy on timely arrivals would help with this. The riding time is actually quite short (around 20-30 minutes divided in to two bursts). The trip is quite long due to the travelling, kitting up etc and we did expect a bit more time on the snowmobile. However, the ice cave was really cool (very glad we opted for this) and the staff had lots of information about the glacier and snowmobiling. They were also more than happy to take photos when asked. The weather conditions were pretty bad but the driver was great at making sure we were all safe. Hot drinks and snacks complimentary at the end. I'd recommend travel tablets if you're not good at travelling - it's a bumpy ride!

unique fun adventure
Oct 2019
Our family of six (grown children and significant others) had a great time. We'd never snowmobiled before, but the guides were excellent and led us on a fun ride. Even in a slight falling snow, we stayed warm.

Beware!! They might cancel your tour!!
Aug 2019
Our family group of 4 had booked this company for a snowmobile tour for last week. It was booked for our 2nd day in Iceland. When we arrived in Iceland on day 1 we received an email where this company cancelled our tour time of 2:45 pm and moved us to 10:15 am!!! Our whole day and trip had been planed around this tour, plus we had a long drive to get to the location. We could not do the early tour. Who does this......cancel just 24 hours before??? They also do not reply to your urgent emails nor do they advertise or offer a phone # to call to discuss. The local information center in Reykjvik was able to give me a phone # to contact them at. They told me they have heard of this happening often. This company also could not give me a reason for the cancellation of our tour time. And to add insult to injury, we were allowed to cancel the 10 am tour, but it cost me $32 in foreign exchange fees + difference in the USD conversion! Not a positive experience in my opinion! I would not trust them!

Dear Sue, Thank you for sharing your experience with this tour. We do appreciate your feedback and we hope to make improvements. We understand that short notice cancellations can cause a lot of disappointment for travelers and we would never make such changes if we could do without them. All paying customers receive a ticket with our contact details - the phone number is there as well. We always do our best to get back to everybody as soon as possible. Of course, a refund is offered in a situation like this, but we cannot control the exchange rate or foreign transaction fees applied by the bank. Please accept our sincere apologies for this frustrating and disappointing experience. We hope you get a chance to enjoy snowmobiling on a glacier sometime in the future. Best Regards, Gintare B.

Shameless in admitting their greed!
Aug 2019
Me and my boyfriend had a terrible experience with this company. We where going to go snowmobiling with them but we misunderstood the meeting point as there are two meeting points on that particular glacier. We phoned the company as soon as we realised we where at the wrong location. We asked if we could go on another tour another day but the company didn't want to do anything for us. They where very clear that it was our own fault and just took our 300 GBP saying they could sell all the seats for later tours. We offered to go on a tour on a day that they would have unsold seats anyway but no luck. They where rude and all they cared about was keeping the money and not risk having an unsold seats. Completely shameless in admitting their greed and how they don't care about their costumers.

Dear Valued Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share this experience with us. We’re very sorry to hear about the situation you’re in. Kindly note we do have a very limited number of passengers per tours and therefore, we have to apply our cancelation policy when it comes to late tour modifications/cancelations. We also state to exact address on the voucher and also provide GPS coordinates for easier navigation around. Therefore, to be able to treat all of our customers with the same rules and guidelines, we are not able to reschedule travelers if they contact us less that our indicated time. Let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with. Best regards, Elze

Utterly appalling. Horrible People. Horrible Company. Took £300. Delivered nothing.
Aug 2019
Yeah don't use this company at all. We booked a snowmobiling adventure as the highlight of our trip to Iceland. We were told to meet at the basecamp on Lanjokull. Fine - except that there are two basecamps. So we went to the wrong one and tried to rebook (apparently it happens a lot and had happened to other people the day before). So how did the help us out? Answer - they wouldn't. They wouldn't rebook for a trip the next day, even though they had spaces because (as they told us) they wanted to sell those to somebody else and get more money. They wouldn't recompense us. They wouldn't help us in any way. They were rude and unpleasant. No clue about customer service. Then the tour guide called up. To be fair she sounded nice enough and was distraught to get an earful, but then she works for a terrible company who only care about money and hadn't bothered to tell her. So that was £300 for nothing whatsoever - and that's how they were happy to leave it. The Icelandic tour guides at the base station were nice, were shocked at Arctic Adventure's attitude and helped us out - but it still left a very bitter taste. Unfortunately the pattern seems to be - go to Iceland get ripped off by people who only care about money. Very sad but that is how it is. No wonder nobody goes there anymore.

Dear Graham P, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We understand your frustration and disappointment for missing the tour. Please note that once you've booked the tour you've received a ticket with all the necessary information. We always ask our customers to read through the ticket in detail. There is a hyperlink on your ticket "snowmobile base camp at Langjökull Glacier" and if you click on it, it opens a maps link which shows the exact location on the map where you need to be for the tour. We also provide GPS coordinates and driving directions word by word, we try to make it as clear as possible, even if there are two base camps on the ticket the right one is indicated. We also inform our customers that they are responsible to arrive to the meeting point of the tour in time for the adventure. We are very sorry this situation turned out this way, but we sincerely hope you have enjoyed your time in Iceland overall. Once again, thank you for your feedback and apologies for the inconvenience. Best regards, Laura S.

We had an amazing time on our snowmobiling trip! Our guide Peter was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He made all of us first-time snowmobilers really comfortable and took a shower much time as needed to take pictures and give us the perfect experience. A must-do in Iceland!

Best Tour Guides
We had the best time in our Snowmobile experience with our funny guides (2 of them) yesterday. A few people from our group fell during the ride and they immediately come to help in less than a minute. They were also very informative about the whole place and the safety measures. It was quite an experience but we really had fun.

Awesome 👍
We did the snowmobile tour on LANGJÖKULL glacier with pickup from Gulfoss. We had two great guides. The trip had some breathtaking views, we also saw a volcano crater under small lake. The ride itself was super fun (obviously). They can reach around 70km/h. If you're worried about going too fast, dont worry they have a good system where if you're slower you can go at your own pace (guide in the back as well as the front).
