Overview
Hit the most important landmarks in Iceland during this 8-hour Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik. With a local guide, visit the Gullfoss waterfall, the most impressive cascade in Iceland. Stop at the legendary Geysir geothermal area and explore Thingvelllir (Þingvellir) National Park's mossy expanses and deep fissures. Visit the Friðheimar greenhouse, where geothermal energy is harnessed to grow hothouse vegetables in the middle of the Scandinavian winter. Round-trip transportation from select Reykjavik hotels is included; transportation is by climate-controlled coach.
What to Expect
Following morning pickup at select hotels in Reykjavik, board the climate-controlled coach and embark on the Golden Circle tour of Iceland's most remarkable natural landmarks. Along the way, learn about the history, ecology and geology of the area from your local guide.

Stop at the Geysir geothermal area, home to the Strokkur geyser, which erupts with a 98-foot (30-meter) column of boiling water every 4 to 8 minutes. Continue to Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most impressive waterfalls, where the Hvítá River cascades into a 105-foot (32-meter) crevasse.

In Thingvellir National Park (Þingvellir), see the fields of verdant moss and the gash in the earth where the Eurasian and American tectonic plates are pulling apart.

Visit the Friðheimar greenhouse, where organic produce is grown using the power of the earth's geothermal heat. Learn about the growing process and taste some of the fruits of the farmers' labor.

Great day out

The guide we had was not the greatest and seemed far too focused on entertaining a small group of people. Aside that, the tour itself is a great way to see a lot of the natural beauty spots on the island. My personal favourite was...More

An OK tour

I am quite disappointed with this tour. To start, the tour does not provide any pick up that day, not even at a place near our hotel. We had to walk all the way up to BSI Terminal. What perplexes me is that after the...More

Given the vagaries of Iceland’s weather, I doubt it is possible to be exact about your duration. I would talk to the cruise line about how to handle this. By the way, the tour was the highlight of our trip.
