Overview
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty, flora and fauna of Iceland on this 10-hour trip down the country's south coast. On board a climate-controlled coach with your naturalist guide, visit sites like the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, the Skógar Folk Museum and the Reynisdrangar rock formations near the charming coastal town of Vik. All activities and round-trip transportation from select Reykjavik hotels are included.
What to Expect
Following pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik, board the climate-controlled coach and embark on the 10-hour tour of Iceland's southern coast.

Head for Vik, the southernmost village on the island of Iceland. Along the way, make stops at some of the country's most spectacular natural landmarks. At the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, take the unique opportunity to walk behind the cascading water and emerge on the other side of the falls. Take fantastic photos at the 196-foot (60-meter) Skógafoss waterfall, whose copious spray produces an almost permanent double rainbow.

Visit the Skógar Folk Museum, which displays over 15,000 historical artifacts that help illustrate how Icelanders lived in past centuries. Walk through the thoughtful recreation of a baðstofa, a communal room where the household slept, ate and worked.

Along the way, get stunning views of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and listen to informative commentary from your local guide. At Vik, admire the charming village set below the towering cliffs, the black volcanic beaches and the impressive Reynisdrangar rock formations before heading back to Reykjavik.

South coast is worth the effort

There were several great waterfalls. Along the black sand beach are some amazing rock formations, esp. the basalt pillars. Plenty of hiking. Cute little museum by one of the falls. Bring lots of rain gear.

South Shore Beauty

There was so much to see on this excursion: waterfalls, glaciers, amazing rock formations and black sand beaches. Like the four other excursions I did with the same company, this was expertly done.

The worst

This was an awful experience. The bus was packed! I must say that the heavy rain may taint what a bad experience this was. The windows were constantly fogged and the bus was so crowded it was really a chore to pile on and off...More

Since it was my first time in Iceland, I really didn't know what to expect. At random I chose Reykjavik Excursions and glad to say they were excellent. Pick up was right on time, drop off in the closest point to the hotel, clean buses...More
