'Game of Thrones' Filming Locations Tour From Reykjavik
Explore southern Iceland from a very different perspective than most Golden Circle tours on a Game of Thrones-themed tour led by a guide who was an extra on the show. Hear fun behind-the-scenes info about the TV series from your guide as you go, and see Thingvellir National Park, along with a couple of locations unique to this particular tour. Plus, round-trip transport from Reykjavik in a climate-controlled van takes away the stress of planning out rides beforehand.
What to Expect
Start your tour with pickup from your Reykjavik hotel, or make your own way to the prearranged meeting point. Join your guide and board a comfortable coach for a scenic drive through southern Iceland’s rugged terrain, picking up history and trivia about the popular Game of Thrones TV series along the way.

Upon arrival at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Thingvellir National Park, hop out to see the land where the White Walkers and Wildlings roamed north of the Wall, including the fissure of tectonic plates at Thingvellir Gorge.

Then, make a quick stop for refreshments (own expense) before continuing to Lake Thingvallavatn, one of Iceland’s largest natural lakes and one of the country’s most popular attractions. Though not a filming location, the lake's beauty makes it a worthwhile stop.

Other stops featured in Game of Thrones include the Thorufoss waterfall, Thjorsárdalur Valley, and Almannagjá Gorge. This tour concludes in Reykjavik.

8 hours, 4 locations, and a LOT of rest stops

We were in Ireland before Iceland to do the Belfast GOT tours; the Iceland tour really paled in comparison to Ireland. We stopped at "meh" locations, the first being an Icelandic pony farm, then a canyon where Dani's larger dragons first made their appearance, then...More

Our bus was a normal 50ish seater. I don’t think there is any restrictions on numbers.
