About
This tour will give you a chance to ride your own snowmobile in the Arctic Circle area. You will enjoy the beautiful wintery scenery whilst driving through the local forests, where opportunities for photos are abundant during short stops we make. The duration of the program is 2 hours, including preparations. The riding time on snowmobiles is approximately 1 hour and 30 – 40 minutes. The average speed during our short tours is limited due to the safety and traffic regulations. Two adults ride on one snowmobile, there is an option of single riding for an extra charge. Children are travelling in the sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile.

We did the 8hrs snowmobile safari and we had an amazing day !
We really appreciated our guide, Sasha, who was incredible.
He was really helpful and was taking care of our need all the time :) He did his best to show us as many things as possible. The tour was incredible and we can definitely say that the 199€ we paid really worth it thanks to him !
Thank you again Sasha :)

an excellent adventure
Feb 2020
We did the 8hour snowmobile safari with ice-fishing. It was a very nice experience. Our guide was Yngve. He was very kind and pleasant. He is the kind of guy you want to have with you in order to survive in the wilderness. He knew a lot of stuff and he shared with us a lot of stories. Riding a snowmobile is kind of difficult at first because the stiring wheel is kind of heavy and the road is very bumby but after a while you get used to it so it's ok. We rode through the forest to a resort/restaurant where we ate our meal (buffet). The food was good and you could eat as much as you want. Then we returned to the headquarters where we took the van and went to the ice lake for fishing. This lasted about 5 hours. Yngve gave us the choice to go to the lake by snowmobile but we chose the car so that we could have more time for fishing. When we arrived to the lake he showed us how to open the hole in the ice and how to fish. He then set up the fire and cooked our sausages and hot chocolate. Unfortunately we did not catch any fish (i guess they were sleeping) but that's ok. The ice fishing lasted about 3 hours. Overall it was a unique experience that everyone should try at least once in their lifetime.

Amazing experience!

This tour is amazing and was by far the best tour we did in Lapland! We were taken down an incredible and scenic route and our tour guide Lorenzo was friendly and informative. The tour lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes and we had chances to stop and soak in the atmosphere.

I would recommend this tour and is a great value for your money!

We did the 2 hour snowmobile tour with our 14 year old daughter, probably the most fun activity we have done while in Lapland! It was AWESOME! The guide was brilliant, friendly and helpful, and we all had a fantastic time! The scenery is just magical, what an unforgettable afternoon!

Great 5h safari!
We have made one 2h safari for beginners yesterday which was pretty cool. So we have made another today but during 5h with a lunch included (salmon soup and sausage, that was good). Our guide was really great, Sacha thanks for your kindness and your fun. You love what you do and happiness is contagious. We are so happy for this time!

Could be better

We booked 2h safari, but in reality it was a slow driving tour around Santa's village on the tracks that were really in a very bad shape, plenty of bumps. The guide was very kind and did her best, but we felt a little bit in a tourist trap.

Great excursions but planning is subpar
Dec 2019 • Family
*** please note 2 stars is given for the tour experiences not the customer service.

We booked a 6 night stay in Lapland. The planning was done well in advance as we were traveling with a 1 year old and 7 year old. No expense was spared as we were really mostly concerned with ease and wanting an authentic experience. What we thought was going to be a no hassle package since we were also staying at the Arctic Wilderness Lodge, was a nightmare of lack of communication and general apathy.

Here are just a few of the transgressions:
Booking a private transfer and being dropped off at the incorrect hotel.
In transferring our luggage from the shuttle to the hotel my son’s shoes went missing and it took me reporting it to five different people in four days until it seemed to finally be deemed important enough for people to look.
In the package we booked, transfers to and from our hotel were included... yet every time we got on the shuttle the driver attempted to charge us.
We were overcharged on one of the tours and if I hadn’t said anything we would not have been refunded.
During our ice fishing excursion, the firewood was forgotten and the crank that drills the holes was broken.
Charging 2 euro to use the restrooms in the safari center after you have been on a 3-4 hour tour... most costing several hundred euro.

Sasha was a shining star among men and tour guides. He really cared and did his best to rectify the horrendous customer service of the sales and operations representatives.

Wild Nordic your tours and excursions are great, but we beg you to do better. Customer service is probably the most important part of tourism and that does not seem to be high on your list or priorities.

Dear 1722aksj, thank you for your feedback. We were happy to look into the booking and assess what has happened and how we can improve our services. Our team in our Wild Nordic safari center remembers your family well and were discouraged to read your review as several of them, who have kiddos of their own, worked with effort to go through numerous overalls bags (we got over 150 bags on that day and several tens more on the subsequent days while you were here) in order to find your son's Nike shoes, so he would not be leaving without them. You were also offered that in case we do not find them, we will provide a solution, although leaving the shoes in the bags meant for Wild Nordic overalls was not something the team or company could affect in the first place. Our clients generally do not pack their own clothing to our overall bags, which are meant for carrying thermals overalls only. As you said, you have communicated with several people and it tells the extent of how many people were involved in the search to go through the bags with only the wish to find the shoe and make sure your son gets them before your departure. With the transfer to the hotel as well as a mistake in the billing for the extra adult on one of your safaris, our sales team has sent you detailed booking info to confirm by email prior to the trip. As you state, we helped plan every step of your trip well in advance and every time a change was made, the entire booking confirmation is always re-sent, so the details for the transfer as well as number of adults billed had been there to check if everything is ok. Our sales team is amazing and fast, but mistakes can happen when it comes to creating winter fairytale holidays for our clients and that is why we resend the confirmation several times. Luckily, you had approached us with the mistake on location and it was rectified immediately with a refund. In regards to the transfer to hotel, as our check-in starts at 16:00, you have agreed with our sales representative that you will have a private pick up from the airport, fitted for the thermal overalls in our safari center and then taken for free time in the city center as your plane had arrived so early. Therefore, there was no mistake in delivering you to the wrong hotel, but rather the wish to have an early check-ins, which is not possible in Rovaniemi hotels during the highest season. This has been clearly communicated through our sales representative and the guide who picked you up as well. As for the rest of the transgressions, we are happy to address those briefly in order to share light on them: - our safari transfers also operate as a shuttle bus to provide a cheap and regular connection between Arctic Circle Wilderness Resort - Santa Claus Village - Rovaniemi city center. As infrastructure can be a nuisance for travellers who come as public busses go but once an hour or not at all on holidays, we always try to improve the possibilities. However, all our safari clients can use the bus for transfer to/from safari free of charge with simply showing a voucher, which you had been advised beforehand and every time by the driver - as our safari center is located in Santa Claus Village, our toilets are not only used by the safari clients but also tourists. As it states on every door of every toilet, the 2 EUR fee is only for clients who did not purchase any other services from Wild Nordic and it is stated there in several languages. Our front desk is also assisting if there is any confusion with that from 7:45am to 22pm during our safari center opening hours. - in regards to the ice fishing excursion, the firewood was forgotten by the guide, but as a safari company, we have several storages for wood around the locations so we can easily get the campfire started anywhere. For ice fishing, drills are not indestructible and they do break sometimes, but our guide was able to provide the entire activity as this is only a small challenge. Your ice fishing was accompanied by two guides and as our guides have reported, they have borrowed a drill from a partner company and the activity proceeded as it was supposed to. All local companies do help each other in this situation and it also shows our wish to show that we care about our activities and promote local cooperation as Lapland is still mostly a wilderness where people offer assistance to anyone who requires a hand. We focus extensively on customer service and together with quality, we hold these two goals as a top priority for Wild Nordic, which has reflected in your experience with Sasha. We are super happy that you have mentioned Sasha by name and we will be sure to pass the compliments to him. Our entire team is as dedicated as our guides and hopefully, we have shared the background of the transgressions for everyone to understand that there are always people working with passion to help correct any challenges that occur already on location so that negative reviews are not needed after wards. Have a Happy New Year and all the best in 2020, With kindest regards, Ana, Wild Nordic Finland
