Very cool trip! We were a very small group, so even better. Comfortable bus, well organised, not too rushed. Sven Eric's personality is something else:) Great story teller, and actually funny. Lunch place acceptable (I would prefer more Danish local and less burger sandwich place).
Recommended, especially if you have short time in Denmark, are lazy to organise stuff yourself and want to see top sights.

Thomas (with an H) our Tour Guide made it fun and learned alot! He literally is a Walking Guide Book :)
Wish we had more time at the Fredriksborg Palace, then I could have taken MORE pictures. This was our favorite place!

We really enjoyed this tour. The bus is small so this is a smaller group tour which we like. Our tour guide Jorgen was excellent! He knew so much history, that we really got a feel for this historical city. The Royal Palace tour was so interesting, and he dropped us off right at the canal where we were able to walk right onto the boat tour. He joined us all for a very lovely Danish restaurant lunch, and even dropped us off at our hotel afterwards. All in all, it was money well spent and truly gave us a feel for the city's origins and layout. I'd highly recommend.

The Grand Day tour offered by Hamlet Tours was an inspired choice for our short (only two full days) visit to Copenhagen. With limited time, we were able to overcome travel logistics by putting ourselves into the hands of pros, a comfortable bus and a small group. The tour covers four distinct sites: Kronborg Castle, Frederiksborg palace (now a museum), Roskilde Cathedral and the Viking Museum in Roskilde, all located well outside the city but made imminently accessible through the exceptional planning and comfortable pacing of Hamlet tours. Anders was a most personable guide, knowledgeable, humorous, and able to fluently articulate the complex history of this corner of Scandinavia. We particularly liked his thoughtful and nuanced perspective, not merely a textbook history with oversimplifications and biases. He was very refreshing to listen to, also because he didn't rattle on frenetically and talk us to death every minute. There is a fair bit of walking involved, but we were accommodated with good breaks and a very pleasant lunch stop. We felt great afterwards and no ill effects the next day when we did a 3-hour walking tour in Copenhagen's core (but that's another review). We could never have covered these sites on our own in a single day, in fact, if we'd had twice the number of days, we probably would not have had the energy or capacity to see all these locations. I must say, it was great to have a way to get outside the city and see Copenhagen's surroundings as well as some of Denmark's most significant sites. Excellent experience, highly recommend!

The title is a misnomer as this is a grand day tour to Denmark sites outside of Copenhagen. 25 years ago I saw a few of the sites on this tour by myself, with trains and walking - I enjoyed those few sites so immensely that when I had 1 free day out of a business trip, I chose to go back to those sites.....but, by taking this tour I got to see an addition castle I couldn't fit in previously and had more time at each site. I immensely appreciated Jorgen Spo Madsen, our tour guide's, well spoken English descriptions and history that I had not gotten when doing this on my own. I saw the cost of this trip as being of great value for the added things I got to see, the comfort, and all the information. If you are not at a hotel within "zone 1" of Copenhagen's Central Train station, make sure you pick up a simple tourist map so you can identify where the mini-bus will be - back of Tivoli Gardens facing City Hall - or least when I took the trip.

We really enjoyed this tour with our guide Patrick thru the parliament building and queen's reception halls. There is ALOT of walking on this tour thru street construction zones. We enjoyed the harbor and canal boat trip where you see the panoramic view of the city. Later, we had a delicious typically Danish lunch at an outdoor cafe( cost of the tour does not cover lunch). All in all, the tour was a very full day of sight seeing. The only thing I would caution the company about would be to maybe try and keep political views and slightly offensive references to mental health issues out of the monologue.

We did the Grand Inner City tour with Adam as our guide. A very small group on the day but a thoroughly enjoyable tour. Adam could answer any questions we threw at him and is one of the best guides we have had on any tour. We were collected at the hotel door right on time and driven to the various locations for the tour. Be prepared to do some walking throughout some large buildings with lots of stairs. I could recommend this tour to anyone which offers an excellent insight into the history of Copenhagen right through to the present day.

If you are new to Copenhagen and would like to have an overview of the Copenhagen area, this one’s for you.

Our guide Henrik was precise with timing in every site and the lunch break. He also provided enlightening tidbits of information about Danish history. Christianborg and Rosenborg are huge and would definitely need more time for a thorough visit. This tour gives you highlights of each place. Another interesting part of the tour is the canal cruise which takes you to other places in Copenhagen that are not often heard of like the Christisnhavn.

Overall, a great day well spent in Copenhagen, or shall I say København. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to Hamlet Tours who ran this tour AND their great tour guide, Margaret. They normally did not have this tour on Wednesday, but when we inquired online about it they replied they would try to put one together for us. AND they did. Actually, it was just my husband and I, but it was like having our own personal tour. We LOVED Margaret, our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and she great at navigating every stop. This Inner city tour is a great choice to see the palaces and the City by boat.
