Copenhagen Food Tour

Overview
Exploring a city’s food scene without a guide can mean you don't get the full story behind the dishes you try. This half-day tour gives you the scoop on both Copenhagen’s hottest and most traditional eating spots, markets, and dishes, providing a well-rounded, yet up-to-the-minute take on its cuisine. Plus, the tastings equate to a light meal, so you don’t need to eat before or after.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in central Copenhagen and set off to explore its food repertoire.

The city has emerged as a foodie hotspot, with many chefs eschewing historical Danish dishes for lighter, fresher dishes. Your tour reflects this, covering both the city’s contemporary and traditional foods. Locations vary from tour to tour, so the places mentioned don’t provide a definitive list of the outlets you’ll visit.

Explore Torvehallerne market and try some artisanal cheeses at Arla Unika, one of Copenhagen’s trendiest cheese vendors, before sampling treats such as preserves and caramels at the Bornholmer shop.

After enjoying some Danish apple wine, visit the Aamanns café for smørrebrød (open rye sourdough sandwiches topped with largely organic and free-range ingredients).

Enjoy three craft beers at Nørrebro Bryghus, savor a hot-dog bite at the Ecological Hot Dog Stand, and lastly, visit Summerbird Chocolate to dig into its flødeboller (chocolate-covered marshmallows).

Your tour then finishes at the starting point.

Multiple trips to market

Our tour started at the Central Market, returned there in the middle, and then looped back, I believe, at the end, which I missed. Our guide, an expat from Canada, was knowledgable and friendly as she took us to a place for artistic and delicious...More

Definitely not worth the time or money

I rarely write reviews and generally have good luck with tours based upon reviews on TripAdvisor and/or Viator. This tour was the exception. The tour started out badly at the meetup point. We were standing at an entrance to Hall 2 10 minutes prior to...More

good food and great guide

Olivia was a great guide and kept us informed of general history as well as the history of the food we tried. The walking is not strenuous as there were frequent stops, and the amount of food was just right. The food tasted on the...More

Great experience and food tour

We were in Copenhagen for a day with our cruise ship. This was a great way to see Copenhagen an experience their food. We had many tastings and learned a lot about Copenhagen along the way.

Awesome food - with a little local history!

A totally enjoyable way to explore Copenhagen - I cannot recommend this highly enough. The venues and foods were thoughtfully chosen and we had a wonderful introduction to the history of Copenhagen too. Our host was knowledgeable, accommodating and fun.

Apologies for the delay. I would say it's a bit too far for a walking frame.
