What to expect
Visit two of Greece’s UNESCO-protected wonders on this 2-day tour from Athens. On Day 1, depart central Athens and travel to ancient Delphi, once a base of the Delphic oracle and considered the center of the world by ancient Greeks. Take a guided tour of the Temple of Apollo and the ruins on the slopes of Mt. Parnassus, and learn about the site’s history and function. Following a lunch break, continue to Kalambaka and, after an evening at leisure and overnight at a local hotel, spend the next morning exploring UNESCO-listed Meteora, home to six medieval monasteries built on high rock pinnacles. Visit two of the monasteries with a guide to learn why and how they were built before your drive back to Athens, where your tour ends at the original departure point.

2-day trip to Delphi and Meteora
Mar 2020 • Couples
We enjoyed our trip to Delphi and Meteora. Our guides and drivers were excellent and professional. Lot's of interesting information and places to visit. One but important disadvantage of this trip was accomodation for the night: we were dropped at 18:00 at Amalia hotel which was located in the middle of nowhere. The hotel needs renovation badly but according to taxes they charged us in the morning (3 euro) it considered to be 5 stars. Nobody explained to us what we could do during our free time. We tried to walk to the village but it was 6 km from hotel without side walk and no transportation so we gave up. Dinner was at 8 pm and was good but did not compensate our wasted evening. We talked to other tourists in our bus next morning who bought that trip from another company not CHAT tours. They were placed in the hotels in the village and enjoyed their evening walking and shopping around. Our advice: don't buy this tour from CHAT tours because they don't care about clients. They care to fill an empty hotel and save their money probably. We think this way because it was absolutely unreasonable to place us so far from everything - location is very important for tourists and we were very unhappy during that evening and we believe we were not alone with those feelings.

Breathtaking
Feb 2020
We started on a bus with a group of people doing just the one day Delphi tour. After touring the Delphi area, which was very interesting, we joined a group who was on a four day tour to go on to Meteora. Both sites were amazingly beautiful and interesting— well worth the long travel time. It was disappointing to have a bus that was not quite as nice and roomy on this two day trip compared to the bus we had on our one day trip to Mycenae and Epidaurus earlier in the week. The provided meals were just ok—nothing special. We chose to not eat at the lunch spots that we stopped at (which were not included in the price). They were large, heavy lunches, and we preferred to get a walk in and have a quick bite at a cafe. Helen, Joy, and George the driver were all wonderful and helped make the trip a highlight of our vacation. We would recommend this tour!

1. I am glad I went. Delphi was interesting, Meteora was spectacular, stunning. 2. The guides worked hard to do their job.The driver was provided a safe ride 3. The bus was very uncomfortable, too small, crammed, no space for day packs except at your feet and inadequate leg room. Awful for so many hours on the bus!!! 4. The Amelia Hotel was nice, the rooms comfortable. 5. The vegetarian dinner was NOT good. It was a plate full of boiled cauliflower, broccoli and plain rice. No protein. No seasoning. I was sorry that I prepaid for dinner!

Nice&dense
I started out with a group of 1-day Delphi trip. After visiting Delphi, the company arranged me to join another group of people who were on their 5-day trip package. Meteora is magnificent. Additionally, I met a few friendly and interesting people during the tour and we went on later to visit acropolis together. Very worthwhile!

Great guides & tour sites, other offerings not so great
Nov 2019
We had really good tour guides that provided more cultural/historical info than expected. Both Delphi and Meteora sites are amazing, highly recommended. Even the stop at Thermopylae was nice. However, this was a large bus tour with 30-40 people, difficult for one guide to keep organized. And so the visits to each site felt very rushed. In Meteora, we visited 2 monasteries that were great, but we did not really get to see the enough of the specific monasteries that we wanted; i.e. the one featured in "For your eyes only". Additionally, the restaurants and shops we visited were geared toward large crowds. So again we felt rushed and the food was much less than acceptable, likened to a Greek cafeteria. We did opt to stay in the nicest hotel in Meteora and we're lucky we did, bc it was still 3-star at best, and the restaurant food/wine there was also not great. While not having to rent a car and drive was nice, in hindsight we should have. We would've spent the same amount or less on a car and private tour guide at each site, and then would've been able to make better food/shop choices and spend more time where we wanted.

Amazing
Oct 2019
Hotel pick up. Trip was long thank god for bathroom breaks. In Delphi we were giving enough time to wonder on our own after the tour, husband and I went all the way to the top, this tour not recommended for children. Our tour guide was ok, I think she was called Ellen. After Delphi departed to Kala banka meteora with another guy her name was joy she was great and funny told stories made the trip very pleasant. Stop for lunch in a sea front restaurant amazing views, from there went to our hotel in a alia Kala banka dinner buffet was good, next morning headed to meteora some 30 minute stop in town, headed up to the monasteries , amazing views. Prepare to go up and down steps do not recommend taking children these trips are long and tiring plenty of waking. In the monasteries better off wearing a long skirt or dress or they give u a wraparound to wear in top of your jeans no sleeveless shirts. Trip back to Athens was shorter

Worth it!
Jun 2019
Long bus ride but very worthwhile! The allotted time to visit Delphi is ridiculous. We had 15 minutes of free time while I would have needed at least 40 to do the site justice. Tour guide for Delphi had great English. Allotted time for Meteora was fine. Tour guide for Meteora had so-so English. The hotel buffet was incredible!

Beautiful landscape and amzing Monestries
Sep 2019
The Monestries of the Meteora area are amzing and the way in which they were built are amazing too. It was a little wet and it made it hard to see the monestries when the clouds moved across them but it was still a highlight. It is a long way but worth the travel.

Two day trip to Delphi and Meteora
Sep 2019 • Couples
This trip was absolutely amazing. The day to Delphi took a while, and we would have definitely preferred to have more time to see the Ruins and make it to the Museum, but that was not the case. The Meteora trip was also spectacular. I realize these places are far, but would have loved to see more monestaries, since we only visited two of the six. However, our tour guide was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable, very funny, and patient. Catarina was wonderful and am very thankful for her guidance through out the trip.
