Sintra Castles and Cascais in One Day from Lisbon

Overview
The fairytale castles of Sintra are dazzling yet dispersed. Travel between each of the palaces with ease on a full-day tour from Lisbon, a perfect introduction for first-time visitors. Explore the historic center of Sintra and admire Pena National Palace, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, before visiting Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost point. See, too, the coastal town of Cascais and the cavernous Boca do Inferno (Hell’s Mouth) cave. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
What to Expect
1st taking west straight to historical center of Sintra, where we have some time to explore the old streets of Sintra. UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Around 30 min.

Then we´ll continue to Pena Palace (visit 1h30m), the most extravagant palace built on a rock at 500m. altitude dominating the whole coast to Lisbon.

After is time for lunch (aprox.1h)...usually we suggest a local restaurant out of tourist zone in a local village between Sintra and Cabo da Roca with attractive prices. (also is possible to have a lunch somewhere else, depends what group will decide).

Next point is Cabo da Roca. Westernmost point on the continental Europe. 140m altitude, it offers a beautiful view of the wild coastline. (around 15min).

Next we passing a stunning beach, west of Cascais, Praia do Guincho. Praia do Guincho is the most scenic beach of the Lisbon coastline and the kingdom of the dunes and strong ocean wind. This is a paradise for surfers and windsurfers. depends on time we can stop for photos.

Next Stop, Boca do Inferno or “Mouth of Hell”. This breathtaking chasm located on a cliffy seashore close to Cascais will attract you with roaring waves crashing vigorously against the rocks.

Finally a visit (depending on time) to Cascais, is a described as a "postcard-perfect little beach town" Cascais once was a quiet fishing village but after European nobility discovered the little village and its idyllic setting, the town became a favorite vacation destination, elegant Lisbon coast resort for international visitors.

Later return to Lisbon along the coast, passing by Estoril until Lisbon, admiring the beautiful coast and it’s beaches.

Great trip and great guide

It's a perfect tour if you want to visit Sintra Palace and Cascais. Our guide Matheus speaks perfect Spanish and English and was able to explain everything perfectly even when our group have people speaking those different languages

One day is sufficient to get general impression of both places

Both places are quite easy to reach by the local train. It is also very cheap - somtheing like 2,00 EUR one way. From Cascais to Sintra you may go by the local bus. There are two lines: the quickest takes something like 30 minutes....More

You're wasting time unless you choose Go2Lisbon

Felipe was fantastic from start to finish. He prepared us on the ride over for what we would see. He was a fantastic guide while there, and he knew what to suggest even before we asked. Sintra is beautiful, Pena Palace is fantastic, and Cascais...More

Refreshing Sintra trip

Nelson was engaging and informative the whole day to Sintra, Capo da Roca and Caiscais. As we waited for the last sub-group he explained some about the old Jewish section that we were in. The trip to Sintra got us there before the lineups started....More
