Discover the fairy tale land of Sintra at your own pace on this private 4-hour tour from Lisbon. Alongside your personal guide, you’ll visit areas of outstanding natural and architectural beauty: absorb views of the Atlantic Ocean from Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost point; gaze at the turrets of the Castle of the Moors; and explore the UNESCO-listed historical center of Sintra. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.

What to Expect

Your journey into the story book world of Sintra begins at your Lisbon hotel, where you’ll greet your private guide and board an air-conditioned vehicle. Head first to Cabo da Roca, a rugged cliff from which absorbing views of the Atlantic Ocean can be enjoyed.

From Europe’s westernmost point, proceed to Praia da Ursa — a beautiful beach adorned with golden sands and unique rock formations — and then visit the Convent of the Capuchos, a rustic Franciscan convent carved into the rocks.

The next stop is the Castle of the Moors, an 8th-century fortress that reigns supreme from its vertiginous perch atop Sintra Mountain. Stroll along the ruined ramparts and battlements for phenomenal views.

Finally, disembark in the UNESCO-listed historical center of Sintra and explore cobbled streets flanked by quaint houses. Stop to sample a traditional Sintra pastry and then relax during the 1-hour journey back to your Lisbon hotel.

Are you able to do the tour on a different day? The Sunday that we visited Sintra was really busy, and our guide said that it was less busy on weekdays.
