Overview
If you want to experience classic Dutch culture, then this 4-hour racing bike tour of the Dutch countryside is for you. Departing Amsterdam, you’ll discover typical Netherlands landscapes filled with windmills, farmhouses, and dikes. Pedal past the Het Twiske nature reserve, cycle through quaint fishing villages, Monnickendam and Marken, and cross the Nordhollandsch Kanal on a ferry. On this small-group tour, limited to 10 cyclists, all safety equipment (helmet and racing bike) and refreshments are included.
What to Expect
Your tour begins at the ferry port behind Amsterdam Central Station, where you’ll greet your guide and board a free ferry to Buikslotermeer. After collecting your racing bikes and listening to a short safety briefing, you’ll cycle to Het Twiske, a beautiful nature reserve replete with water pumping stations and dikes.
Pedal through the authentic fishing villages of Monnickendam and Marken, and then cross the Nordhollandsch Kanal on a ferry. During regular stops, your guide provides culture-rich commentary that offers insight into the traditions of rural Holland.
If you’re a more experienced cyclist, you’ll have several opportunities to accelerate your speed while the rest of the group continue at a relaxed pace. Your tour concludes back at your original departure point outside Amsterdam Central Station.

Jelte's tour company is top notch. His pre-ride service was outstanding as he was prompt and clear in his responses. He was really efficient in helping me set up the bike, including a saddle swap. The equipment was really well-maintained (aluminum frame, 105 gruppo). The...More

Excellent and friendly service

I just did a rental with Jelte of Tour de Amsterdam. He has great bikes (Merida with Shimano 105 componentry) at a reasonable price and provided excellent and friendly service. Plus the cycling outside Amsterdam--just a few km away--is excellent. Highly recommended.
