About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 956willp0 contributionsNot worth itThe tour seemed more focused on the gimmick of electric bikes than actually giving a tour. We stopped about 4 times on the tour and barely learned anything about the city we were exploring. The places we did stop were focused more on modern additions to the city. The bikes were uncomfortable if you were tall and very heavy to start. The tour was supposed to be 2.5 hours but lasted about an hour. It felt rushed as if it was the last tour of the day and the guide just couldn't be bothered. Having been on multiple bike tours around Europe, this did not meet expectations at all. Don't bother to book not worth the money. For the same price you could hire a bike for the day and buy a guide book. This would probably teach you more about the city.Written March 16, 2024
- TreasureE50 contributionsLONG Day but pack in 3 CitiesPia and Peter were great on this tour! This tour is a LONG DAY, so just be prepared. Take naps on the Bus when you can. It is a cool way to see Delft and the Hague. I was a little disappointed in how we saw Rotterdam from the River Cruise. I didn't think we got to see too much of the city, but was still good to have three cities packed into one day.Written March 15, 2024

- Gawomanontheroad0 contributionsDo not waste your time and money hereI have done bus tours in other cities and they have been great. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this one. Went from stop 1-4 and it took forever. Hardly anything on the audio and painfully boring. Got off on stop 4 and sent the company a note letting them know how awful their tour is. They didn’t care. Took a taxi the rest of the time. When you have little time to see a city this is absolutely not the way to do it. I spent more time watching the driver smoke out the side of the bus then actually going anywhere. It’s awful and the stops are not marked so good luck finding them.Written January 24, 2024

As it was raining the windows stay down on the canal boat so you don’t see much…until you walk around .. No matter how many times the guide begged people to be on time back to the bus , there were always 4 or 5 others that didn’t consider anyone but themselves.. screaming bored children… people talking loudly on phones I couldn’t wait to get off the bus! It would have been nice in a smaller group or alone. The restaurant is awesome! Lovely staff and food! The tour guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed listening to the history.Written January 6, 2024

The bus was comfortable, the tour left on time and there were no hiccups along the way, the guides were perky and responded pleasantly to individual questions, the places we visited looked lovely … BUT blink and you miss them! This whole tour was completely and ridiculously rushed, dashing us from place to place with no or almost no time to look around or take anything in.
In Zaanse Schans, the guide told us to stick close then took off as if she were in an Olympic race, instantly losing half the group, among whom were quite a few older people. Many couldn’t keep up and missed whatever it was she was saying about the place. Then after a short (maybe 10 minutes) guided talk inside a windmill we literally had less than 20 minutes of “free time” to look around Zaanse Schans, including making sure (as our guide had emphasized several times) that we got back to the bus on time, which was a fair walk away. So really we barely had 15 minutes there. How disappointing.
It was even worse in Marken, where those who went to see a clog making demonstration had NO time to look around while those who didn’t go to the clogs had perhaps 7 minutes. Totally ridiculous.
What’s more the company works this strange system of some of the group having a “classic” tour (27 euros) and others the “all in” tour (45 euros) which includes some extras — the tour inside the windmill in Zaanse Schans, a boat ride across the bay from Marken to Volendam, the clog making demo in Marken — so at various points the group was divided in two and then one half had to wait for the other.
In addition, on the bus the guide kept putting the hard sell on those who were on the “classic” tour, saying onat least five different occasions that “it’s not too late if you want to upgrade to the all-in tour.’
And some of the recorded commentary on the bus was played at the wrong times, telling us “you’re now looking at ..” or “you’re now arriving at …” when we weren’t looking or arriving at anything like that.
The only reason I have given this tour a couple of stars at all is because it was convenient and comfortable being taken to the three pretty places rather than having to transport ourselves. And also in Volendam we got to enjoy a cheese making demonstration with tastings, which was very nice. And although after that our guide immediately led us to a restaurant she recommended (commission, anyone?), we didn’t have to stay there and we finally had some time to look around,
Unfortunately, this tour felt very much like an attempt to cram as many people as possible in and rush them through in as short a time as possible. Unless they decide to make it an hour or so longer and give people a chance to actually see something, I do not recommend it.

We had a great time one our day trip, you get get to see loads of sights on the outer regions of Amsterdam.
The windmills are spectacular, the talks they provide are very informative and the smaller villages you visit are really beautiful.
I think the time of year we went really helped make the country side stand out, we got to the windmills early and the sun was still low in the sky and it looked stunning.
My main complaint is you are very rushed for time at each location you stop at. It would be great if the tour ran for maybe 2 more hours, just to be able to explore a bit more.
I’d definitely recommend if you’re on a longer stay in Amsterdam and are trying to find something to do to fill a day with.

On our 1st trip to Amsterdam, before going on a cruise, we had to see the windmills and this 1/2 day trip was awesome. It left from the beautiful train station. 1st we went to see the windmills and learn about them. This was very interesting. Then went inside the shop there, explored and tried some fabulous cheese. There were some farm animals to see there also. Then we got back on the bus and went to Markem to the wooden shoe factory where we watched a demo of how to make the shoes. We wandered a round a bit after this and then boarded a ferry to go to Volendam. It was nice going on the boat ride vs back on the bus, although the bus was comfortable, we just liked being in the open air and o the water and not believing that we were actually in the Netherlands. When we arrived in Volendam we went to the cheese factory, watched a cheese making demo and then cheese tasted. Next we went to lunch at a restaraunt they recommended (Harbour De Lunch), although we could have gone anywhere there in the little fishing/shopping village and met back up with the group. The lunch was good...fish (Kibbeling they call them) & chips along with a Heineken, of course! If you go with the tour to the restaurant get right behind the tour guide as there is not a lot of room in the place. We shared a table with a friendly couple from Canada. After lunch we went to Woltje's bakery to see how they make the tasty Stroopwafels, then we shopped a bit and met up with the tour roup and walked to the bus, the back to the train station. The bus ride around to thr various stops was great as we got ot see the countryside, houses, canals, etc. It was a fun trip and I would recommend it for sure.

This was an enjoyable tour. Was skeptical visiting in august with the covid 19, hiwever we felt safe with the safety measures- masks, sitting in the same seats after every stop, keeping physical distances etc.
A fair bit of walking though which I don't mind but some may not be prepared for. The guide (she's of Italian origin, think name is Maria of marta) was really warm and knowledgeable and the driver got involved too! we were a large group (40 ish) but they managed us by splitting us at times.
The windmills were great to see, clog making too and cheese factory!
Overall would recommend this tour.

Start time for the tour was 08:45 but we arrived earlier. Tour office in the train station was very easy to find. The tour guide Diana walked a group of us to the bus departure point where they had 3 buses waiting. The bus was very comfortable, spacious, had good air con and very clean. We received headphones for the audio information while on the bus, which was very interesting. The bus driver played music on his keyboard while we were boarding which was entertaining. We opted for the all in tour (€45 per person on the tours and tickets website) which was worth the extra money. The first stop was in Zaanse Schans to see the Windmills and the functioning windmill. The bus driver was very friendly and took photos of us in front of the Windmills. The next stop was Marken where we had a clog making demonstration which was very interesting. From here we made our way to the boat for the cruise over to Volendam. The boat ride took approximately 30 minutes. When we arrived in Volendam, we went to the cheese factory for a brief demonstration and cheese tasting. We then had time for lunch - we had approximately 45 minutes for this before the stroopwafel demonstration or you could opt to extend your lunch instead for over an hour. We opted to extend our lunch and had cod & chips in "restaurant de lunch" on the harbour. After lunch, we made our way through the village to the bus for the return trip. The bus driver sang some songs on the way back and he was very good. Diana, the tour guide, was very friendly and information. Would absolutely recommend this tour.

This was a nice way to see historic rural areas of Holland. I wanted to see the old windmills and get out of the Amsterdam hustle and bustle for a day. The bus driver was very competent. The guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. (Also multilingual) I opted for the 5 hour trip which included 3 stops, 3 presentations, and a boat ride across the man made lake. I did enjoy the 30 minute boat ride. The wooden shoe presentation was good, but the venue is very small and they crammed our entire bus of people in a very small space. I couldn’t see very well. A similar situation at the cheese presentation. Very tight space and a lot of people. I didn’t do the stroopwaffle presentation at the end because I just didn’t want to be squeezed into another tight spot. The working windmill presentation was amazing to see. The guides did take us to a great local spot in Volendam to get a late lunch which was very reasonably priced and the food quality and service was excellent. So even though I was critical of the touristy type presentations and tight locations- this trip was worth the price in my opinion. The tour guides place priority on the customer’s safety (there is quite a bit of group walking) and satisfaction. It was overall an enjoyable experience.

Awful trip last week. Double decker bus so took up a lot of time loading and unloading. Paid for all in ticket as led to believe the basic version wasn’t available but other people on the bus were doing it. Went in windmill at Zans Schaans which wasted all the time there as it took so long to walk the group there and shuffle into the windmill there was very little time for anything else. The “cheese making demonstration” was five minute explanation and no actual demo, again took up most of the time everyone filing in and cheese tasting was standing in very crowded shop with very little hygiene protocol in light of Covid. Boat trip to Marken was nice but you could just pay €6 extra to do it if you were only on basic trip. In Marken we were supposed to visit a 1940’s house but this part of the trip didn’t take place with no apology or explanation as to why. When we raised this with the company they have agreed to refund that portion of the trip, let’s hope they refunded everyone else as well. The commentary was scripted and recorded with no personal touches. We were there on Liberation Day and this wasn’t even mentioned despite being a very special day in Holland. A lot of time was taken up listening to instructions for a different trip going to Keukenhof in the afternoon that we weren’t even going on.Verdict. A very commercial trip just being herded to make the trip sound good.
Not worth paying for the all inclusive option.

Dear guest,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
We are sincerely sorry to hear that the tour to the countryside did not fully meet your expectations.
We would like kindly mention that there are two packages of the tour available for our guests: classic and all-in. There is a different capacity for the packages, so it could happen that one can be fully booked already, our guests can find all the information about the packages and book the tour with us online.
Regarded the Covid protocol, we would like kindly mention that currently there are no restrictions, and the Netherlands is not in the orange or red zone.
We are doing our best to provide all our guests with a beautiful experience and we hope regardless of this situation you had a nice time in the Netherlands!
Thank you and have a wonderful day, kind regards Tours&Tickets

Negligent! One of the worst experiences you could imagine. Safety should have been the first priority and the tour should have been cancelled! Within 10 minutes of the bus departing all passengers on the bus received a government issued text message about the severity of the weather, asking people to stay indoors. The tour should have turned around at this point but it proceeded while trees were being ripped from the ground around us. Scariest experience! Life threatening! There was not one happy person on the bus! From the moment we left the station to walk to board the bus there were warning signs. Lead by our tour guide we Got soaked walking in torrential rain to get to bus. When we got on the bus we were offered to purchase ponchos for 3Euros ea (by which time everyone was already extremely wet). The whole experience was poorly run! On the return they refused to drop passengers off closer to the station in Code Red winds with debris flying around us. We had to walk approximately 400 meters in Gail force winds. Most frightening thing you could imagine and simply inexcusable!

Great tour and highly recommend! What a wonderful way to spend the day. Rode in a comfortable tourbus with audio 30min outside of city to Marken for wooden shoe demonstration, then took the ferry to Volendam (cutest town!!) for cheese factory/waffle demonstration/shopping/lunch, and bus to windmill village then back to city (6hrs total). Be sure to bring $/card for shopping and food. Plenty of options in Volendam and snacks as well at Windmill village. The tour of a windmill is a separate purchase, but we were fine to tour the village only and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our driver Artemis and host Diana were fantastic!! So hospitable and friendly. The whole family enjoyed it and we learned a lot about Dutch history and culture!

We were told upon arriving to the bus that our red wrist bands meant we couldn't do much and that we would miss out on most attractions. All we missed out on was a 15 minute windmill tour (you can watch and listen from outside the gate) and a 30 minute boat ride over a cold and windy river. The bus driver was laughing saying the boat ride was a poor experience and being on the bus was much warmer and we saw more than water, rain, and wind.
The tour takes you to several tourist traps. Mainly two cheese shops that sell identical cheeses. They reserve an entire restaraunt at Volendam for the tour and expect you to sit down and have lunch there.
The tour guides are condescending and pushy for tips. The bus was told to keep quiet several times. Several times we were warned that you had to take a taxi back if you missed the bus. Not true, there's a second bus behind it you can get on if you miss the first one.
We spent ~20 minutes in Marken. In Volendam you don't get to see any of the markets, side streets, or even back streets. They only take you to a small strip on the coastline with a cheese shop. waffle shop, and seafood shop.
Instead of this tour I would recommend taking a normal bus and touring the city yourself.

Thank you for your feedback.
We are very sorry to hear you were not able to fully enjoy your experience with us due to the reasons you kindly mentioned.
We would like kindly mention that the other bus could be fully booked and we can never guarantee that our guests can join the bus if they missed the group.
We hope you were still able to enjoy the villages.
Kind regards,

Hi, we're booked in for the all inclusive tour in September - what time do you expect to arrive back at the drop off point?

We started at 8:45am and we’re back by 2:20pm. It will depend on traffic driving back.

depends, are you on the morning or afternoon trip, there is a travel tour shop in the station where they take you up to the next level to board the bus.

Is there a toilet on the bus or at the stops? Thanks

The toilets are at the stops. At the Windmills, there are two, one close to the bus parking lot, but the other one wasn't open early enough to be used. There was a toilet on the ferry, but you needed to use a toilet in a restaurant in Volendam, but they are very nice about it as they have arrangements with the tour company who promotes their food. Just travel with a credit card with no transaction fees and you will be fine.
Hi, what time will the 8:45 tour arrive back in Amsterdam? We have tickets for 4:00 at the Anne Frank Haus, so need to know if we can make both. Thank you

The tram. You can buy a day ticket at the stand and hop on and ride to the station.
