This was a great excursion. Pedro is very knowledgeable, but he's low-key and relaxed. His assistant, Monica, is awesome. We are an older couple who needed some extra assistance and a watchful eye, which Monica graciously provided. We enjoyed the entire trip, but we had significant altitude sickness at the facility at the top of the Alps, so we weren't able to fully appreciate it. I wonder if altitude sickness is more prevalent at older ages? If so, there should be a warning about it here.

Wont be forgetting this tour for a while.
Travel time was pretty good.
Tour guide was informative and friendly.
The stop in Interlaken was (I felt) a bit pointless as there was not much to do... especially if you were not interested in shopping for watches or chocolate! However the scenery was beautiful. I underatand that wr had to drop people off that were doing different activities.... the hour spent there was unnecessary.
The Alps were beautiful. The time spent there was just right. There were plenty of little sights and bits to see, so many amazing photo opportunities and a few different food choices.

Well organised and well done tour with great guides. We had more than enough time to see and do what we wanted and this made the tour very pleasant. Our guide, Eduardo, was fantastic. Friendly, polite, knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun.

I booked this tour 1 month in advance. On the scheduled tour, we waited but no representatives from the Best of Switzerland Tours came. I called their local office and they told me that there was an error made and that they have no record that there are tour participants coming from Lucerne. They refunded me and scheduled us to the Mt. Titlis tour in the same afternoon for free, to compensate us with the inconvenience. We traveled million miles and are never sure when and if we will ever come back, so you can never pay the missed opportunites. So for those who are booking this trip, please confirm with them that they got you on their list.

Dear Yvonne Thank you very much for having taken your time to write us a review even if it's not a good one. We do care a lot about our customers experience and understand your frustration about the mistake happened on our side. We take the full responsibility and do not excuse. The mistake was human, made by one of my colleagues who registered your booking with departure from Zürich instead of Lucerne. We already had a serious talk with him, as there would had been ways to avoid it after noticing that you didn't join in Zürich. It was his last week of duty with us as he was about to leave. As mentioned, this of course is not an excuse but just an explanation. I'm truly sorry for this but I also believe we did our utmost after being aware of the mistake to make up for it by inviting you for free to join our tour to Mt. Titlis instead and refunding the full amount for the booked tour to Jungfraujoch. So on the end you joined with two persons to our Mt. Titlis tour worth CHF 159.- per person totally free of charge. We understand that you missed out your experience to Jungfraujoch, which you were probably dreaming for a long time, but we also believe that our offer of a free tour to Mt. Titlis where you had quite a similar experience up in the snow was a very fair offer. A mistake can happen always, we have to learn about it, avoid it in the future and make up for it the best way possible. I trust we did this and showed you our professionalism. We hope you had a good time on Mt. Titlis and have great memories of your stay! With best regards

The train ride up is fun. Once you get there it is super crowded. Many rude folks shoving you around to get in the front of the line.

The weather changed on us so all we saw was white. Also, be prepared to not feel great. At that height, many in our group felt sort of bad. Most of the things are inside so you don’t need to take super warm clothes, at least in June.

The ice palace was good. Bring good shoes it is slick. Also, the cold of the ice will go through deck shoes or Vans pretty quick.

You can go outside at a couple of places. It was fun to be in a blizzard for a few minutes. We threw snowballs and laughed for a bit. I did get winded with just a little effort.

Do layers and you should be fine. I did short sleeves though the whole thing. Be prepared for the crowds. People were everywhere packed in. I got tired of folks breaking in lines and shoving me. TAKE YOUR PATIENCE.

On the way to the main attraction jungfrau, we were told it was closed due to hurricane winds. The tour company immediately changed the itinerary to a lower mountain which was experiencing great weather. We saw jungfrau in the clouds, which means even it was open we would not have seen anything. Thus the day turned out great. In addition before we even returned to Lucerne the company had refunded half the tour price (without us even requesting it). Awesome customer service.

We were excited for this tour and the actual time spent at Jungfraujoch didnt disappoint, but overall it was a disjointed day. In hindsight I could have completely figured out this journey on my own with a Swiss train pass. The first stop was for shopping in Interlaken which seemed to be a waste of time.We then all get back on the bus and head to Grindelwald. From there the train journey begins. This is when it got frustrating, there were 52 people in our group, our guide seemed overwhelmed getting us all in the right places, and then everyone was so worried they would get left behind so it was a lot of people pushing to make sure they were first. Once we got to Jungfraujoch we got to explore on our own and it was nice. The actual tour organization was a pain.

Dear guest, Thank you for joining us on our tour to Jungfraujoch and having reviewed your experience – good to hear that the visit of the Jungfraujoch lived up to its expectations. On the other hand we are very sorry to read that you were not impressed by the tour organisation. Our tour programmes are pre-set and are catered to the needs of the common tourist visiting Switzerland. We try to include as many different aspects as possible, and simultaneously aim to maximise the time at the actual attraction, as this is within the interest of the majority of our guests. As Interlaken is conveniently located along the journey and is a popular destination for many guests, we include a short stop in the morning. This gives guests a break from the 2-hour journey (from Zürich) already behind them and a chance to grab a snack or a drink before proceeding. Others might use the time for shopping or sightseeing, which is cherished by many. Our guides have the task on one hand to tell interesting facts along the journey, provide the necessary information about itinerary and meeting points, organise and handle the distribution of tickets and also to keep up the quality of the tour even with big groups. With larger groups and with guests from different cultural backgrounds being a tour leader can also be a challenging task. With the Jungfraujoch being on the bucket list of many people visiting Switzerland, it can be crowded at times and we are sorry that you felt rushed by other travellers. With the increasing number of visitors there is also lots of organisation coming from the Jungfrau railways to optimise those customer flows, for example when changing trains at Kleine Scheidegg, where our guide leads the way to the next train. Of course, the journey can be done individually and the Swiss Pass makes it easily accessible by public transport. Having a tour guide with you, who serves as a facilitator and also as a direct contact person in case of occurring questions, however is a reason why many people opt for a guided tour instead of an individual visit. For those seeking alternative experiences a bit more off the beaten touristic track, we also offer some services as specially dedicated small-group tours with a maximum of 16 passengers – might be something for a next time. We hope that you have had a good stay in Switzerland and remain with best regards.

We were very hesitant about booking this one since it's quite an expensive tour but now, we have no regrets. From Lucerne, it was an air conditioned, comfortable bus that took us to Grindelwald. We stopped for a few minutes in Interlaken. The guide will tell you that you can shop there but it is quite expensive (even the chocolates). But the place is picturesque so don't waste your time indoors. Go for a walk and click lots of pictures with those alps! From Grindelwald it's two trains up to the summit itself and the views during the drive and the train ride up are just amazing. Jungfraujoch is breathtaking.

Altitude sickness is a real thing. My father who's over 50 and not exactly fit was quite dizzy up there. I was lightheaded as well but still able to function decently 😅. Yes there will be people everywhere so advise caution and patience. Beware of your footing or wear good shoes that will hold on ice since the place is slippery. The ice palace is also amazing and pretty but so very slippery. I didn't know that the cold hurts so i was unprepared whenever my hands were out of the gloves for pictures. My first experience in weather that cold and it was brilliant although a little painful 😅. Be prepared with winter gear and if you're from a tropical country, don't underestimate the cold!

Don't forget to check the weather before you go. We were lucky to have a sunny day but from what i gather, blizzards make it difficult to see the views since visibility is limited.

Lastly, but most importantly, our guide Rebecca was awesome. She was pleasant and friendly and made sure we're all together through the whole trip, took us to the summit and back in one piece! This might have been quite difficult to plan on our own so the guided trip was well worth it and we have stunning pictures to last.

The pros: great views as we had a wonderfully clear day; 5 stars for this part of the tour.

The cons: although we paid more than $500 for the english tour, we were put on a massive 2-decker bus that was mostly the Chinese tour. In addition, we were picked up in Lucerne, but the Chinese group started in Zurich. Therefore, all good seats were already taken. My wife and I were able to grab the last 2 seats available up top in the back.

The trip requires 2 train changes, and we were again left toward the back away from the tour guide. As a result, we missed important information that was communicated to everyone else. This also happened to 6 of the Chinese tour participants who were stuck with us, and they remarked that it was not well organized and that they also missed the info.

The massive amount of participants was handled by 2 tour guides who did the best they could. However, in our experience of taking tours, there likely should have been another 2 guides.

The bottom line: great sites, but terribly disorganized. I wish we would have gone with a private tour for the money we spent. If we had spent $150-$200 in total, then the tour would be 4-5 stars. At $500+ total, the tour is at best a 3-star tour and perhaps lower.

Dear Gerald C, It has been our pleasure to welcome you on our tour to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe from Lucerne on the very last day of 2019. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views despite the various aspects mentioned. As Jungfraujoch is one of the most popular attractions in Switzerland, we conduct our daily tours bilingually in English and Spanish or Mandarin, which is highly appreciated by many of our non-English speaking guests. Our tours bring together a wide variety of nationalities and cultures, with Chinese guests accounting for a much smaller share than English-speaking guests. As all information is shared in both languages equally, it has hardly ever led to negative feedback until today. The merging of groups allows us to offer our tours not only from Zurich, but also from smaller destinations with lower guest numbers such as Lucerne and Interlaken. As we allocate our seats on a "first come, first served" basis instead of fixed allocations, your desired seat may no longer be available when boarding the bus. We are sorry to hear that you have missed the information shared on the train ride up to Jungfraujoch and will certainly follow up your feedback with your tour guide directly. While it is not possible to share information over the speakers during the train ride, our experienced tour guides are instructed to go through the wagons and to answer individual questions from our guests. To enjoy a more personalized service, we recommend booking one of our small-group tours with a maximum of 16 passengers or even a private service. We regret to hear that you felt that the tour was not worth the money and hope that we can convince you of the opposite on one of our private or regular tours on your next visit to Switzerland. Best regards, Best of Switzerland Tours

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip from Lucerne to Jungfrauhoch. We saw so much beautiful scenery on the bus and trains. We wish we had more time in Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen and not stop at Interlaken at all. Or just get to Jungfrauhoch sooner, to beat the crowds and shorten the day. Our guide Fernando was excellent, informative and thoughtful - a good shepherd. Thanks!
