About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- B6356ADpatrician0 contributionsMore Than Only the TowerAndrea is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. She explained the rivalry between Pisa and Florence while explaining the Medici family influence on Pisa. Walking through the cathedral and then having access to the tower was very interesting. It was wonderful to explore the Square of Miracles and ending with information about the leaning tower. Excellent tour and Andrea is amazing. I highly recommend taking this tour.Written September 23, 2024
- cms123xx0 contributionsGreat tourGreat tour, excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable and easy to listen to. She was informative but made it fun. She checked everyone was OK and answered questions. The climb up the leaning tower was lots of steps, so only do this if you can manage over 300 steps. The steps weren't steep, but in places the marble was a little slippery and worn and uneven. The climb was worth it for fabulous views over the city and the cathedral.Written September 10, 2024
- NicolaC5120 contributionsGreat Tour from lovely guideReally lovely guide, who was super knowledgable and informative. Very good value for money - we needed up having a private tour when no one else turned up - so pleased it was not cancelled.Written August 31, 2024
- sapiotours0 contributionsEntertaining and InformativeI lead small group tours all over Europe, and have used many guides. This was one of my best experiences. Our guide was entertaining and provided enough detail that we learned some interesting facts, but brief enough that we didn't get bored. I will use Discovery Pisa again when I return next year!Written August 26, 2024
- alarnah20240 contributionsKnowledgeable Guide & Delicious FoodOur guide, Celia, was friendly and full of knowledge. She took the time to get to know us in order to make the experience more personal. She taught us many things about the area of Pisa, including history and how to find good gelato. Highly recommend - thank you Celia!Written August 24, 2024
- Fearless300493098790 contributionsGreat Choice! Our guide was absolutely amazing. She was funny and she had a lot of good information. She kept us in the shade and was able to get us into good vantage points for pictures. Two thumbs up!!Written July 24, 2024
- M4296BRchristopherb0 contributionsA very interesting guided tour of the Miracles Square. An excellent guided tour, with a very knowledgeable guide. We had an earlier tour of the cathedral, but learned a lot more from our guide! She was helpful in keeping us in the shade when outside on a very hot and humid day. The choice for the wine tasting (Pecorino restaurant) was great, and we returned there for dinner that night.Written July 14, 2024
- Companion469778323350 contributionsGreat experience !!!!I did five tours in Italy. This one was by far the best. It wasn't the specific sights that necessarily made it the best. It was the guide. She did an truly excellent job. The level of detail she went into was brilliant. She was able to answer all the questions. She did a great job in sharing the facts while also injecting fun into the topics as well.Written June 7, 2024
- 84inezl0 contributionsExcellent food tour in Pisa! The tour was brilliant! We were lucky to be the only ones on the tour that day and our guide Celia was lovely and very informative. There was a great spread of traditional foods. Would definitely recommendWritten June 1, 2024

- 105madhum0 contributionsPoor experiencePoor quality tour Started late Team surely knew cathedral was closed for tourists for few hours (mass in the church), should have rescheduled the timing but guide decided to make the group stand outside in wind & rain chatting away. Had to visit inside of cathedral separately on our own Very poor organisationWritten March 29, 2024
- ashlaj0 contributionsSquare of Miracles with AndreaEnjoyed this morning tour with Andrea (...Allora!"...) with a nice summary of history, and debunking myths / outdated info. January is a great time to go, because you don't have the crush of excess tourists nor steamy hot weather. She gives tips on how to navigate the cathedral / baptistry / city walls, and your trip up 294+ steps of the Torre Pendente (Leaning Tower... )Written January 22, 2024

The day started off rainy but by time we got underway the rain had stopped and the skies turned blue! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about all three buildings. She even shared little known facts about the relief work in the Cathedral, Galileo’s lamp and the Bell Tower also. She ended her portion of the tour timely which allowed us to climb the Tower promptly at noon, our ticketed time.
Pisa is about 2 hours away from Rome and we’ll worth the trip. We recommend you take the bullet (fast) train from Rome Termini station. You won’t be sorry.

The tour included “all inclusive” tickets for the campus, which allowed entry to all the buildings, but only the Baptistry and Cathedral were guided inside, plus an explanation about the Leaning Tower from the outside, ground level.
The tour was advertised as delivered in English. While true, our guide spoke English with a very strong Spanish accent, which often made it difficult to follow through the low-quality headphones system provided. She often spoke away from the microphone, which did not help.
A ridiculous note about the tickets (nothing to do with the tour operator) … free access to the toilets is ONE ACCESS PER GUEST. If you stay around to visit the other museums etc, then go back there later, they will charge €1 per person! This was not explained by our guide. Tip: The Museum has free toilets inside.

Thank you for your review!
We appreciate that you shared your experience with the headphones, we will improve with a new provider.
As it is written on the description of the tour, the guided monuments are the ones that are mentioned on the description and the people who bought the tickets for the tower will go up after the visit.
We also appreciate your note about the toilets, though as it is written on the opinion, unfortunately it is out of our control.
Best regards,
Discovery Pisa costumer care.

Outstanding experience. Easy to find the guide at the meeting place for the beginning of the tour. All directions were clear and precise. Once the tour began, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and detailed in her explanations. She consistently searched out shade (our visit was in the middle of the 2022 heat wave) to give us descriptions of what we were about to see, then took us around to view the building/artwork. Each part of the tour expanded our wonder of this beautiful “Square of Miracles.” Beginning with the Baptistery, then the Cathedral and finally climbing the Tower of Pisa, the artwork, craftsmanship and architecture were mind blowing. The tour also included entrance to three museums within the square, so we were able to make a day out of our trip to Pisa. There are wonderful cafes both inside and outside the city walls to enjoy lunch and some delicious Italian beverages of your choice. Also, plenty of vendors exist for those looking for souvenirs or gifts.

Great experience with knowledgeable guide but were a bit disappointed to learn from the start that our 2 hour experience (10am - 12noon) was actually only getting us to the start of the Leaning Tower climb, starting at 12noon. We had a train connection at 12.55pm which made things too tight by the time we factored in luggage collection and return to the train station. Would have been perfect if all was to be completed within the 2 hour time advertised.

Excellent guided tour. Guide explained many special details about the place and sculptures. She was very patient in answering the questions and gave enough free time to self explore each location. Money well spent for us.

We booked 10.00am slot, 5th June. Very well organised. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, made the tour interesting ( unfortunately can't recall her name). Lots of interesting facts. The Babistry currently closed for renovation work, but visited Crematorium Building instead, which contains interesting wall paintings etc. Tour finished at Pisa tower, we had also booked to climb the tower (251 steps) but well worth the view. There are points to stop & catch your breath if needed, as you climb up/ down the staircase. Would highly recommend. ( need to leave all bags in cloakroom prior to climbing tower - only mob or camera allowed - free of charge with secure locker system).

By having a tour booked "all inclusive" I definitely expect to enter the tower of Pisa – thats why we came to Pisa. But after an hour tour by entering all buildings around the tower, we got the information, the tower is not included....!!!
Sorry, but these is a terrible tourist trap!

Dear costumer,
Our tour options are VERY clear. Tour with Leaning tower and your without leaning tower.
If you take the option tour without leaning tower it’s not a tourist trap, is just that you need to read more carefully what your are booking.
You didn’t make a complain to Viator because you know that you booked a tour without the leaning tower so leaving a one star review after tou booked a tour without the leaning tower it’s not honest at all. Thank you.

On a recent trip to Tuscany we elected to visit Pisa with some apprehension. We’d heard it was overcrowded and the Leaning Tower was a bit underwhelming. That could not be farther from the truth.
Admittedly, we visited in November when it is less crowded. However, the Baptistery, the Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta) and the Camposanto were fantastic!
What about the Tower of Pisa? That was terrific as well. The climb to the top was fun and the lean was strange to experience!
Our guide Alessia was wonderful and provided great insight and humor to the visit. Recommending the visit!

How should I dress for this tour? Do we need skip the line tickets for the Cathedral and the Baptistery? Can you also take us to Borgo St.,Dante Sq. Garibaldi Sq.and old town.I know this would take more time and money. If you can not do this can I get a walking tour map and go on our own? Thank you
