What to expect
Meet your driver in the historic heart of the city at 9:00am and depart in a comfortable vehicle for a day in the Tuscan countryside. Travel along the winding Chiantigiana Road into the picturesque hills. The first stop is Greve in Chianti, where you'll have a brief 15-minute stop to snap some pictures and check out the town square. Continue on to a small wine estate for a tour of the vineyards and wine cellars before sampling three of the estate's wines and olive oil. The estate produces eco-friendly Chianti and Super Tuscans, and what you taste will depend on what's available that season. The next stop is San Gimignano, the hilltop town famous for its many towers. Enjoy a 40-minute stop to explore on your own before the tour continues on to a nearby farm not far from San Gimignano. Admire the farm's historic farmhouse, including an ancient watchtower. Relax at the farm over a light lunch, followed by a chance to sample some of the products produced right there – as well as some other typically Tuscan goodies chosen by the guide. Travel back to Florence at the end of the day, where you'll be returned to the place where you met your guide.

Wonderful day
Sep 2020 • Couples
This was a very nice tour. We had the van all to ourselves. The first winery was lovely. They had a very nice sampling of wine and beautiful setting. People were knowledgeable and welcoming. The second winery was equally as welcoming. We got a tour of the winery, tasting and lunch. For dessert that served ice cream with olive oil chocolate sauce they sell. It was very tasty so i bought some their chocolate sauce. On the way back the tour guide dropped us off at another part of Florence at our request so we appreciated that. Lovely day.

Turned out to be a great private tour
Dec 2019 • Couples
What an amazing your. Our tour guide was Filomena and she made the tour extra special. Full of jokes and info about Florence and wines from Chianti. We took off in a minivan and visited 2 wineries and had a hearty lunch at one of the wineries. We had 1 hr by ourselves in San Gimignano to just walk around. Highly recommend this tour and Filomena as a guide.

Excellent tour for a wine tasting trip in San Gimignano and Chianti villages
Oct 2019 • Couples
Kudos to our guide, Alberto Cencini, who took us to the most beautiful parts of the Chianti area, San Gimignano, Montefiorale, in Greve in Chianti.
We had stopped in San Gimignano for a quick tour, followed by wine tasting at the Tonuta Torciano and another stop at an exceptional farm,Azienda Agricola Maurizio Brogioni, where we enjoyed wines with a light , homemade lunch!

Great trip in Tuscany
Sep 2019
Marco was our tour guide, and he did an amazing job. It was a great trip with 8 people total in a small van. It’s a beautiful area of Italy. We went to two small family owned wineries. The families were extremely nice, the food was delicious, and we met the nicest people from Canada, US, and Australia. I would highly recommend this trip. Thank you Marco for a great day!

Thank you for leaving us such an amazing review. Our priority is the satisfaction of our clients and we are pleased to hear that you had a good time and met nice people. We like to keep the group small as we think should feel a warmly friendly and memorable experience. We will pass your comment to Marco as well and he surely will be very pleased too. We hope you will have another occasion shortly to come to visit us again!

Disappointing experience
Aug 2019
We were really looking forward to visit chianti region with this tour from Florence. Despite that two wineries were quite good and we had wine tasting at a nice setting, we were really disappointed with our driver/ tour guide Marco. He did not stop at Greve in Chianti - so we have missed out totally on the opportunity to see it, although this town was in the tour highlight. He gave us only 30 minutes at San Gimignano instead of promised 45 minutes at the tour description. He rushed us out of the first winery. He rushed us also from the second one so we did not have an opportunity to order any wine shipping. He drove the minivan very erratically, tale gating and driving with one hand. There was precious little input in his role as a guide. Furthermore, we all felt that the trip was SO rushed that it spoiled what should have been a good experience. There are much better tours and tour guides out there.

Hi there! Thank you for letting us know your comment, however we are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience and we guess you had an unfortunate day as with this tour we always get fantastic reviews! One star rating is very stern especially if you loved the two wineries and the scenery, we assume that the problem was mainly with our driver-guide who made you feel that he was in a rush. We are very surprise to read your comments about him, be aware that Marco didn't have until now any bad review, he always gets 5 star. Please accept our apologies that you had a bad impression of his service. Also bear in mind that this is a regular tour and there is certain scheduled time to stick with and as mentioned before on this particular occasion you had an unfortunate circumstance because you spent more time than usual in other locations and the driver had therefore to cut the time in San Gimignano and Greve in Chianti. Thanks for being with us and we hope you will have another occasion to visit these places again and next time we are sure you wouldn't regret it!

Left us behind
Apr 2019 • Couples
We booked this for four people, the night before when we arrived at Hotel Porta Faenza
we asked the receptionist to ring and confirm we were definitely coming on the tour, we made our way next morning to the meeting point and found the tour had gone.
Not only were we all very disappointed but this cost over $700 NZ. All the other tours we booked especially in Dubrovnik they picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back when tour complete. Surely a small tour such as this could done the same. When in a city not familiar to travelers would this not be the reasonable thing to do. We had some difficulty getting to the meeting point but did get there right on time.
Not impressed and wouldn't recommend because of the non pickup policy. We asked the receptionist at our hotel to ring and see if we could join a tour the next day, they said we could but would cost us twice as much as we had already paid. It sounds by the other reviews this was the tour we were looking forward too. However we will not be back in Florence so cannot even get some sort of compensation. All of us very disappointed.

Amazing Tour
I highly recommend this tour. This was a perfect tour of the Tuscan countryside- exactly what we were looking for. We got to stop for about 40 mins in a small old beautiful town, San Gimignano first. Then, we visited a winery for some tastings with light food. Lastly, we were taken to a smaller winery, it was the highlight. Great hospitality here and the lunch was delicious (as was the wine!). Our guide, Sam, was amazing as well. He was very knowledgeable with great facts, and answered any question we threw at him. He was great to chat with as well. Really recomment this tour!!

Excellent tour!
Nov 2018
Chiara was excellent. Her English was very good and she offered commentary throughout the trip about Florence's history, about wine and olive oil and about Tuscany. We were the only passengers, so it effectively was a private tour. We made three stops--first, San Gemignano, which was fantastic, but only had 1/2 hour there-could have used a bit more. Chiara stopped at various places to let us take photos of the "classic" Tuscan hills. The first winery visited was a big one and we were given lots of food to taste with the wine--fantastic lasagna! The second winery was small and we had a short tour with the owner Maurizio, who was very personable. In both wineries, there was virtually no pressure to buy the wine. We returned to Florence after an excellent day. Would highly recommend this tour.

Good times
Chiara was a lovely tour guide. She was informative and answered all our questions. We left Florence for our first stop in Greve in the rain but Luckily it stopped by the time we arrived. The first wine tasting is actually in a butcher shop which was surprising. My daughter is a vegetarian which was concerning at first but she was a trooper. We loved the cheese cellar hidden in the shop and we got to chat with the only other 2 people in our tour. From here we headed to San Gimignano which was about a 45 minute drive. It was a beautiful drive and we were disappointed to find out we had only 40 minutes to look around before we had to leave for our next wine tasting. We managed to walk through the town in record time and even stopped for gelato recommended by Chiara. I let her know it would have been nice to stay longer which she agreed. She has mentioned it to the tour operator that more time is needed but they have been reluctant to extend the trip. We had a 10 minute drive to a wine tasting at a small family winery.
It was amazing and the service was exceptional but again we were rushed to get through our tasting and purchases as we had to be back on the road within the hour.
While I would recommend this tour, I would suggest getting out of the first stop faster in order to spend more time at your next 2 stops.
