This was the perfect length tour, informative and fun, starting coincidentally right next to a genuine Banksy work of art and a church with beautiful paintings, neither of which were included in the itinerary, but our brilliant guide, Alice, was happy to give us plenty of info on both! She was personable, and knowledgable, eager to answer any questions and navigated us through the back street to avoid the crowds. She told us how the squares are named after the churches and about how the street names have come about. Really interesting and enjoyable tour which my teenagers also enjoyed.

Denise is awesome!! We did 9 different tours in Italy this month and this was one of the best ones! We were with a small group so our guide, Denise, was very engaging and able to talk to us individually while we walked. She gave us a great history lesson while also keeping it light and telling us funny facts too. She gave us great recommendations for things to do/places to eat also. I normally have a specific company’s tours I look for in each city so I was a little unsure of which one to book when Venice didn’t have my preferred company. No regrets at all! This was awesome— don’t hesitate to book!

The guide, Denise, was really knowledgeable, personable, and fun. She knew a lot about the city and you learn a lot of things outside of common knowledge about Venice. I am traveling solo and would recommend for those traveling solo who have limited time in Venice. It isn’t too long of a tour and you pack a lot of interesting things into a short time. and she can tell you a lot of recommendations on where to get delicious pizza and when to avoid seafood (lol).

Out tour guide Denise was lovely ، very nice and friendly . She was really approachable . The English was very clear . The stories was amazing and her way in showing the facts was interesting . We enjoyed it soo much and i strongly recommend it especially in the first day or two in Venice as its short for 2hours and light and gives you great suggestions and an overview of the city as a whole.
Thanks Denise.

Against all the odds of a thunderstorm our guide Giovanni took us on a whistle stop tour of central Venice. Going above and beyond by going over the stated duration time and giving us as many recommendations as we could write down for places to eat and things to see. It was evident to see his passion for the history of the city and its culture in every sentence he spoke and site he took us too. After the tour had finished at 10.30pm he even took us for a beer and continued to tell us much as he could about the city.
The next day I tried all of the food he suggested and every bit was as wonderful as described. Can’t recommend my experience enough and was a fantastic way to decide where to go and what to do with the rest of my trip. Thankyou Giovanni!

The sight seeing tour is a must do. Some of the sites you wouldn't be able to see on your own and the tour guide has vast knowledge of the area. However, at the end of the trip we felt a little bit let down as the tour guide said tourists are taking over the area and its unbearable to live here because of them. The cost of housing and lack of social housing for the tour guide was mentioned also and how costly it is for a local to live in Venice because of tourists. We felt it to be quite cringing as we were all tourists.

Denise was a wonderful guide. She was excellent and funny with her insightful local knowledge, and taught us many interesting things about venice.
Her tour was an open space for questions, and also an open space to meet others travelling the City. We made friends with our group of 5 and spent the day together sightseeing, eating and drinking.
If you want a great tour experience and good recommendations for food and drink, this is the tour for you!

The greatest value in this walking introduction to Venice is its guide: Denise is a Venetian native (one of the few remaining on the island) whose admiration of the island’s old republic and pride in her Venetian heritage shine through in the passion with which she enthusiastically shares her knowledge of Venice’s societal and architectural history.
Despite all the glam of this city, it’s heavy orientation towards tourism has driven out many Venetians from the island whose families have been here for generations. The risk is high of seeing a gilded Venice (much like their famous carnival masks) without seeing the real face of the city. With this tour, Denise offers you the opportunity to look through that gilded mask with Venetian eyes.
A great tour for anyone wanting an introduction to the real Venice that has attracted travellers for centuries (and not the so-called Venice of overpriced shops and tourist traps).

Excellent tour from Carolina with a snapshot history of Venice in 2 hours, cleverly structured around particular landmarks to help tell the story. Carolina was very relaxed, welcoming and clearly has a wealth of knowledge - also very engaging at each stop. As fellow guides in our own country (though we didn’t tell her, as didn’t want to put her off!) we also appreciated her professionalism and picked up some excellent techniques along the way :)
Some great foodie recommendations too, and we enjoyed chatting between stops to learn more about Carolina’s experiences growing up as a Venetian, and thoughts on more contemporary issues facing the city and country. (We possibly gained more from the tour than others in the group as a result, but that’s just a top tip for other travellers - if you want to get a real insight, get up front and strike up a conversation with the guide!)

Great experience, worthwhile doing.
Sure you can walk through Venice on your own, bit you'd miss out on all the cool background info on this unique city
Denise was great and enthusiastic telling us about her home town, and the two hours just passed in a breeze.
An experience at reasonable cost not to be missed.

Hi we are four adults, flying in 9:30 in the morning. We have never been to Venice, I was hoping after the airport to drop off bags at our Airbnb, get something to eat and do a tour. I am wondering if this is a good tour to get us acquainted with the city on the first day?
