What to expect
Depending on the time slot you selected at checkout, your experience begins outside of the Vatican Museums. Access the Vatican through a special entrance with no lines, saving hours of waiting time. Walk first through the Gallery of Maps and the Gallery of Tapestries, hearing your guide's commentary loud and clear through your personal headset. Snap photos in front of the Pigna statue in the Pinecone Courtyard before you continue to Raphael’s Rooms. Spend the next part of the tour gazing upward at the Sistine Chapel, home to Michelangelo’s 'The Creation of Adam' and 'The Last Judgement.' After, say farewell to your guide and continue to St. Peter’s Basilica to enjoy the church independently. Please note that on Wednesdays, due to the weekly Papal Audience, St. Peter’s Basilica may be unavailable. Ensure you select a day other than Wednesday if you’re set on seeing the landmark.

Absolutely fabulous!

This was a wonderful tour! Our first adventure with "skip the line" was great so we took another. Having a guide through these amazing buildings was the right choice. Another gentleman and I did get separated from our group by stopping for a photo op (they went downstairs and we went up) but they finally caught up to us. The gardens and Sistine Chapel are lovely and St Peter's is just beautiful. My only regret was the crowds and not being able to stay in the rooms for very long. There is so much incredible art to view!

Tiffany was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We had a fantastic time, she even managed to keep my 10 and 12 year old gripped for the entire time. They were blown away by the Vatican museum and St Peter's Basilica. We were so lucky that it was so quiet!

Absolutely fantastic tour. Our City Wonders tour guide was amazing. Brilliant at pointing out all the hidden details. So knowledgeable and friendly, can't thank her enough. There was only three in our group so no need to use radios, very personal tour.
It's an amazing time to see the Vatican.

Basilica is not currently included but you can leave and visit by yourself. Again, extremely quiet at the moment but so worth the visit.

Excellent guide
Oct 2020
Firstly, a couple of critical points but they don't detract from a 5-star rating. The meeting point was given as 'bottom of the steps opposite the museums entrance' - the guide was actually at the top but we found her after a few nervy moments; there were no headphones but as we visited at a virus-quiet time we were able to hear the guide well enough; the Basilica was not included, the tour ended just before that, but we had to pass through to leave so saw it on our own.
The guide, Amil, was excellent. She was very friendly, spoke English well and clearly and delivered her tour with a good deal of humour but without overdoing it. All through the tour she engaged with the group, encouraging questions and comments yet without pushing. She was clearly very knowledgeable and delivered that knowledge without notes or hesitation. Highly recommended.
