What to expect
Choose between a morning or afternoon tour, climb aboard an air-conditioned coach near Rome's Termini station. Travel through the streets of the Eternal City, take in the views and hear fascinating commentary from your local guide. Pass through the Piazza del Popolo, cross the Tiber River, and spot the imposing Castel Sant' Angelo.  Alight from your coach and skip the line at the Vatican Museums, home to some of the world's most renowned and recognizable artworks. Follow your guide down Guiseppe Momo's bronze spiral staircase to learn about the Flemish tapestries that grace the walls and about how they were based on paintings by students of Raphael, the Renaissance-era painter whose wall frescos of angels and cherubs are also in the museum. Then, head to the Sistine Chapel and admire Michelangelo's famed fresco.  Next, follow on to St. Peter's Basilica to see another Michelangelo masterpiece: his amazing sculpture of La Pieta and discover the history of the church from your guide and hear little-known stories about the building and its construction.  Alternatively, upgrade to a full-day tour which combines the morning with a walking tour of Christian Rome in the afternoon.  Meet the guide and get ready for an engaging tour of Rome, seeing the most legendary Christian landmarks in this city. Stroll around Esquiline Hill, one of the city's famed seven hills, and home to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, a massive church. Then head over to San Giovanni in Laterano, or St. John Lateran, a basilica that is the official church of the pope. Next door take a moment to see the Holy Steps, supposedly the staircase that was part of Pontius Pilate's palace in Jerusalem, which Christ would have walked on for his trial. Today pilgrims ascend the 28 steps on their knees, saying a prayer for each step.  At the top of the steps in the Sancta Sanctorum, or Holy of Holies, a room that was once a depository for some of the holiest relics in Christendom. Objects included the heads of Sts. Peter and Paul, a chunk of wood from the table where the Last Supper was eaten, and the Holy Foreskin, the prepuce of Jesus, which was stolen in 1527 by a marauding German soldier in the Sack of Rome. (It ended up in the medieval hill town of Calcata, just north of the city.) Later head to the Appian Way, an ancient Roman road to visit some important early Christian churches, including the Chapel of Domine Quo Vadis, which boasts a cemented imprint of the ghost of Christ. Also visit some of the catacombs, burial grounds of the early Christian community. After exploring underground, visit the old spa ruins at the Baths of Caracalla, and then finish your tour with a hotel drop-off or a drop-off in town.

Tour of St Peters Basilica and the cistine chapel.
Feb 2020
Wonderful tour of St Peters finishing with the cistine chapel with Alessandro. Once again this guide was first class in his delivery and knowledge of the place. Sean the boss of Angel Tours was excellent with his communications and I thoroughly recommend this company, will definitely use again.

Very Informative
We spent the morning with Paola learning so much history and seeing many paintings and sculptures. She was very knowledgeable, and pleasant. We did the full day with lunch. The lunch was okay. They were accommodating since I don't eat beef or pork. So I had the chicken as my second course. The pasta I found a little too al dente. It was like chewing a piece of meat. My niece agreed. Also my niece ordered a vegetarian meal, but unfortunately the salad had pancetta in it, and their solution was not to eat it or put it to the side. So NOT a vegetarian dish. Everything else was ok. The afternoon at the catacombs was Informative, but we were disappointed that we didn't walk Appia Way. We wanted to traverse the street that the Apostle Paul walked. We only drove down the street. All in all it was okay. I guess given the lack of expectations being met, we would've been fine with only the morning tour.

Valentina is amazing!!
Sep 2019
I only bought the skip the line tickets, not the tour, of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, however, after meeting Valentina, I wish I would have paid for the tour with her. Valentina assisted my mom and I by holding our hands through the busy Rome street traffic all the way to the entrance to the museum. She is so sweet, funny, full of energy and obviously loves her job. It was very difficult to find their office however so leave plenty of time, (30-45 minutes from St. Peter's Square) to find it. Of course it is a crowded mess in the museum, but I do believe it's worth the wait, especially the Sistine Chapel. Valentina was the highlight for sure. She spent the 20 minutes or so getting to the museum filling us in on the history of Rome and the museum.

Vatican Tour
Sep 2019 • Couples
This tour was fine in the beginning but ended in terrible manner. The first issue was the tour guide’s ability to communicate was hampered by an Italian accent that was hard to understand. This lead to communication issue at the end. The tour guide said we had 20 minutes to shop and then took off. 15 of the group stayed at the shop area. It was our understanding she would come back. We knew that they would make drop offs at prearranged stops. But The end result was the guide left us behind and we were required to get out own transportation back to our hotel.

I would never use nor recommend this tour company.

Green Line tour of Vatican - WORST EVER. AVOID IT.
Jul 2019
I normally love tour guides at museums but my experience with Green Line Tours at the Vatican in July, 2019 was the worst. In fairness it is overly crowded this time of year, but this tour makes a bad situation worse. First, avoid bilingual tours. Ours was Spanish and English and the tour guide spent 60% of her time in Spanish and 40% in English. Even if it had been 50/50, the premise is wrong. Because they repeat everything in each language, you really only get half the time devoted in your language. Also, our tour guide spoke and walked WAY TOO RAPIDLY. She would run ahead into the next gallery and start talking while most of the group was still a room behind. We politely asked her to slow down (both her walking and her speaking) but she said there was nothing she could do because she had to cover a certain amount of ground in the time given and then had the nerve to suggest we return in the winter. It was a complete waste of money. DON'T BOTHER. We left the tour midway through and toured the magnificent Vatican on our own.

Room For Improvement
Jun 2019 • Friends
We attempted to visit the Vatican City and on arrival was met with an operator who told us the Vatican was shut on that day (check the Vatican is open before making the trip). The tour operator explained to us we would be able to purchase tickets in advance and it would skip the line so we headed to purchase the tickets. As students providing ID was 46€ for skip the line tour. We did find the staff friendly and was at the time happy to book. The following day we got to the meeting point which can be difficult to find so definitely get the address. Our tour was meant to start at 2:15 and was told to be there early however the tour didn’t end up starting until 3, we headed to the Vatican from 8 people by the time of arriving at the Vatican suddenly our group was around 20!

Well upon arriving at the Vatican there was a huge queue and told if we didn’t have skip the line it would be 4 hour wait! Although we had skip the queue we had to wait at least an hour and a half. There was way to many people in there way too many absolutely hectic. Bumping into people a lot of ignorance amongst people we was told around 40,000 tourist in a day so choose low business times. We did however find that the tour was too long, almost 4 hours of tour in 35C weather was a bit too much. We did find our guide to have a very thick accent so was extremely difficult to understand and was very in-forceful of her beliefs and felt the tour to be very focussed on her likes and missed some interesting artefacts. However apart from this it was an average tour maybe could have found it cheaper elsewhere as a student ticket but was average in all.

First, we were given the wrong address of office, that was our travel agents fault, Happy we were only a few blocks away from the real office. was never told it was bi lingual, travel agent again. Max was gracious and did his best to be entertaining but he bad news is this. Yes, you will wait on line regardless of on your own or with a tour. The place is packed, all the time. Security lines that tours wait on are about 30-40 minutes long. I did this as a teenager and I remember buses pulling right into the square, that does not exist anymore. I love these art pieces and we were slammed through the galleries. No time to look appreciate. But how can you when you are being stomped on by other groups. So sad to visit such a religious place but then curse every step of the way for how some people are. Just rude! I would only suggest you visit on your own. So many apps can give you a real tour of all the works. This was not worth it and we left the tour upon coming outside of St.Peters and did the rest of Rome on our own.

Don't do it!
May 2019 • Couples
My husband almost killed me for getting this and when we arrived there was NO line to skip, so we basically paid extra to go in as everyone else. Maybe I just had bad luck and in the high season it's worth it, I don't know but definitely don't need it in the lower travel season!

Horrible trip!
Mar 2019 • Family
Judging by the reviews and my experience, I am really surprised that these people are still in business. Please don't waste your time and money with this company!

There was no clarity at the time of booking, regarding the start time, duration of tour or pick up from hotel. The tour was conducted in a very haphazard way, we ended up seeing mostly the exterior rather than the interior of the buildings! We were not guided into the Basilica, because of which we lost our way and left the security area, only to realise that we had to wait for an hour in the queue again, to get into the Basilica! By the way, we barely spent an hour for the tour per se, one extra hour spent waiting outside the museum and waiting for the guide to get tickets, so don't be fooled into believing that this is a 2 hour tour.

Finally, when we tried to complain, instead of apologising, all we got were insults from the company. Unbelievable lot!
