Weave through the most central neighborhood of Madrid discovering the citys most traditional dishes while exploring our favorite century-old bars and restaurants.
Avoid the capital’s tourist traps and gain insight into its historical and cultural background on a gastronomic tour of Madrid, which includes samples of 12 different dishes and complimentary drinks—plenty for both breakfast and lunch. Along the way, visit landmarks, including the San Miguel Market and Royal Palace, and learn more about the city’s culture from your local guide and the vendors you meet along the way.
What to Expect

Begin your morning by meeting your guide and small group at Plaza Mayor. Then, set off together to discover Madrid’s history and cuisine.

Begin with a rich hot chocolate, as you learn about Plaza Mayor’s heritage. Then, continue on to the San Miguel Market to peruse the fresh produce. Head to a traditional eatery to sample cocido stew, a typical Madrid dish, before strolling on to the best vendors in town to taste their cured ham (jamón), Spanish tortilla, and beverages, including national wines, vermouth, and cider.

Stop also at a bakery to sample some sweet bites, and pass landmarks, such as the Royal Palace and Plaza de la Villa, gaining insight into the capital’s culture from your local guide as you explore.

At the end of your tour, return to the Plaza Mayor, and continue your exploration with a new perspective and recommendations for the rest of your trip.
