Great place to visit, and really impressive. It is worth the trip, which is not too long. Unfortunately I was not able to have the audio tour, but having been there, I would recommend either the audio tour or the guided tour.

We were in Madrid for a few days and thought this would be an interesting trip to see something outside of the city. The tour was well organized on a large bus and well organized.

These monuments are amazing and a definite must see, but I would not recommend Julia travel. Our tour guide Carmen seemed more like a grumpy school teacher. She was absolutely awful and would rush off and start her tour before people had even gotten off...More

El Escorial is vast. Filled with artwork, it is worth visiting. There are LOTS of steps, particularly if you go to the crypt where numerous kings and queens are buried. The Valley of the Fallen is an enormous monument that contains Franco's burial place.

El Escorial involves a great deal of walking and many stairs. The Valley of the Fallen has some stairs, but can be toured at your own pace if you prefer on this tour.
