Overview
Sample authentic Catalan cuisine on a 4-hour food and wine tour of Barcelona with an expert guide. Explore the undiscovered Gracia neighborhood’s market stalls, food shops and tapas bars, and get an insider perspective on Barcelona’s vibrant culinary scene. Pause to enjoy a series of twelve iconic foods, from Iberian ham and salt cod to olive oil, handmade sweets and local coffee. Learn about local history as you walk, and experience the very best of the Catalan kitchen with tips on where to eat, drink and visit in Barcelona.
What to Expect
You'll meet your guide at the start of the Gracia neighborhood, and start your journey into one of the city's most traditional neighborhoods with a bit of history about the area. Soon enough, you'll be whisked away to your first food tasting stop, where you'll taste a traditional Catalan breakfast item and learn about the Spanish eating schedule.

Perfect for both food and culture lovers, you'll continue the tour to a small independent delicatessen, where you'll learn about Spain's most famous food product (and of course, try some of the best ham too!).

The tour continues with a visit to one of Gracia's most well loved family run bars, where you'll try another delcious Catalan speciality, paired with a glass of cava, Catalonia's own sparkling wine. In between stops, you'll visit some of Gracia's most emblematic squares, where you'll learn a little more history about this beautiful part of town.

And by this time in the day, it's time for another drink! You'll enjoy Barcelona's signature beverage inside of one of the most authentic bars in all of the city. You'll truly feel like a local here. Learn about the Spanish tradition of tapas, and how people in Barcelona have a different way of going out for tapas.

Lastly, you'll head over to one of the city's mom and pop hole-in-the-wall places for some of the pillars of local Catalan cuisine before finishing off with something sweet (a local speciality!) for dessert.

The tour we went on in February was quite informal and fascinating and so we weren't watching the clock but four hours seems about right.

We were there in February and our group only numbered four. I recall the guide saying the max group size is eight or ten but contact the organisers for a precise answer.
