We booked this tour having enjoyed the Berlin City tour. Our tour guide Ronan (Irish) was extremely knowledgeable but pitched the historical information at the right level. The Potsdam sights are quite dispersed so going by bike is easily the best way to see the palaces. The train connection from Berlin to Potsdam was easy, seamless and quick.
Well worth doing!!!!

First of all, thank you to the wonderful employee that helped us out several days prior to our tour. We were walking by the shop, and saw 3 people sitting outside, chilling after a days work at Fat Tire Tours. The store was closed, but 1 gentleman answered several of our questions, and then even got us booked on this Sunday’s tour. Thank You! We arrived well in time for our 9:45am start. We met our guide, Ronan. He went over how this day was going to play out. Ronan was a great guide, start to finish. We took the train to the Potsdam train station, then got our bike from the next door parkade. That system worked great. We had a wonderful tour, far better than I had even hoped for. Ronan did a great job leading us around, and explaining to us what we were seeing. It was fascinating. My bike worked very well. Our early afternoon meal and drink break was perfect. I could go on and on how great the tour was. My wife had taken a tour with Fat Tire Tours, about 6yrs ago, and loved it. We returned our bikes to where we got them at the parkade, then Ronan got us all safely back to Alexanderplatz. We had a great time. I am certain that when we return to Berlin, we will make it a point to take another bike tour with Fat Tire Tours Berlin.

This was a great day out, and our tour guide was very organised, but all of our stops felt like there wasn’t enough time to see everything. When we arrived at the bottom of Sans Souci, for example, we had only five minutes to look around and get photos from the fountain at the bottom. Then only ten minutes at the top. Given how many places we visited, it’s unsurprising how little time there is to enjoy each spot.
The lunch was a highlight, where the food was great and we had the chance to get to know the other tourists.
The bike ride is exhilarating and the area is very pretty, but it was all a blur.
To the organisers: make the tour longer or cut out some of the stops, so tourists can really get a chance to enjoy the beautiful and interesting locations on this tour.

Earlier this week we did the Palaces and Gardens bicycle tour of Potsdam with JIm of Fat Tire Bike Tours. JIm was extremely well organized and our small group would not have been able to accomplish nearly as much on our own as we did with Jim. The train ride to Potsdam was comfortable, and bikes were ready and waiting for us at the station. JIm had us out and riding in minutes after getting off the train. He provided us with history and context for all the buildings and gardens we were seeing in that area. Although he kept a steady pace, we never felt rushed. He genuinely enjoys talking about this history.
At lunchtime, we stopped in a small Biergarten in town, and then continued on our trek. We did not arrive back at the shop in Berlin until after 6pm. Long after our official “end time.”
The only suggestion I would have, would be to have e-bikes available for this tour. I was able to finish the ride, even though I’m not terribly fit and in my 70’s. Others would be less likely to take this trip because of concerns that they might night be able to keep up. I almost did not book the tour for this reason.

I don't know when this picture was taken, but when I went to Sans Soucis in May 2018, we were not allowed to ride our bikes in the park. No even pushing them, we had to park them outside the park.
