Marseille has long been the epicenter French street art and this 3-hour walking tour offers a comprehensive introduction to the vibrant art form. Escape the tourist trail and uncover the secrets of Marseille’s colorful street art scene as you visit bohemian Cours Julien and Le Panier; stroll around the Old Port; and explore neighborhoods such as Noailles, Notre-Dame-du-Mont, and La Plaine.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and small group of no more than six people at the Central Dock in Marseille’s Old Port, and set out on a walking tour of the city’s colorful neighborhoods. Start with a stroll through the Noailles district, stopping to take a peek at the local market, then cross the river to explore the bohemian neighborhoods of Cours Julien, Notre-Dame-du-Mont and La Plaine. Along the way, learn more about Marseille’s vibrant street art scene, stop to take photos of bold graffiti and stencil art, and marvel at huge spray-paint murals.
Get the inside scoop on the city’s coolest designer shops, art galleries, and bars from your guide, as you wind your way through the city streets. Continue through the Le Panier neighborhood, one of the city’s oldest districts, where you’ll discover more street art treasures hidden among the medieval monuments and historic buildings.
After three hours exploring the city’s street art hotspots, your tour ends back at the Old Port.
