It was so easy being picked up from our accommodation. Morning trip best. Monet’s house doesn’t open until about 9:30 so sneak over to the water gardens first!
Claude Monet escaped to Giverny to paint, and a tour of the house and gardens in the Normandy village showcases the spot that inspired his famous water lilies paintings. Visit Giverny from Paris on this small group tour with easy round-trip transfer and avoid fussing with train schedules and bus or taxi transport. Instead, focus on the artist with this convenient door-to-door trip that includes skip-the-line access to the house—and gardens—that inspired Monet.
After pickup from your Paris hotel, drive to the town of Giverny where Claude Monet spent the last 40 years of his life.
Enjoy skip-the-line access to the house and gardens, which inspired his famous water lilies series of paintings. See the Japanese bridge that leads over the pond, and visit the studio where the artist worked, and the bedroom where he slept.
Depending on your pace, you may want to see more of Giverny. Perhaps pay tribute at the cemetery down the street where Monet rests among the flowers, stop at a scenic cafe, or choose to visit the Museum of Impressionism or shop for souvenirs.
Finally, greet your driver and return to your Paris hotel.
