- Anonymous9250 contributionsWonderful TourFantastic tour. Nice to get outside of Colmar and see some of the rest of the region. The entire area is beautiful, but is very tourist and has certainly lost any remnants of authenticity. Still, an enjoyable day and worth the money.Written August 27, 2024
- DayTrip7868420 contributionsIncredible experience visiting 3 countries in one day with Christian DurThis was a spectacular tour! Christian was an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable, fun and very considerate. Each city had its own special feel and history. Eguisheim, in France, was the inspiration for Beauty and the Beast. It was incredibly charming .Keep your eyes out for the stork nests! From there we went to a delightful wine tasting then on to Basel, Switzerland. The combination of the old and new cities was delightful as was the delicious lunch we had outside a lovely museum. Then on to Freiberg, Germany. Be prepared for a lot of walking! Christian is in amazing shape. When he saw we were getting a bit tired in Basel, he had us stop for ice cream and he went and got the car!Written August 19, 2024
- 515stevew0 contributionsWonderful trip, great guide, superb wines!!What an action packed trip! As well as the visit to the 4 wonderful villages, Christian took us on a few ‘extras’, such as Haut-Koenigsbourg castle and the Sigolsheim memorial view point. The wine tasting was also excellent - we expected a quick stop and maybe a couple of wines but we were there for ages and I think we tasted 12 (at the last count!!) Be prepared for a long day - we were out over 10 hours and I think Christian would have kept going had it not been for our dinner reservation that evening! There’s nothing to choose between the 4 villages, there’re all slightly different and have their own charm and character - the highlight for us was the climb to the ruined castle overlooking Kaysersberg, well worth the 10 minute pull to the top.Written August 5, 2024
- Venture991440 contributionsMust do Alsace tour!Christian was a very knowledgeable, kind and lovely guide! Very accommodating as well. Really 5 star guide rating. Tour was beautifulWritten July 18, 2024

- B6825WJsydneyw0 contributionsTouring Alsace with a localThe tour was fabulous! So informative and so personal. Christian, our guide, was friendly, punctual and very knowledgeable. He went out of his way all day to ensure we had everything we needed and was a pleasure to tour around with. All four towns were beautiful and Christian made a point to take us to some really cool places that we never would have known even existed without him! Our lunch meal was delicious and each town has its own little charm. My husband and I were contemplating renting a car and touring the towns on our own but I am so glad we chose to do the tour with Christian instead as some of the towns are quite small and parking is extremely limited. To top off the day, Christian even recommended and called to reserve a spot in a restaurant for our dinner, personally ensuring we got a good seat and enjoyed our evening. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Colmar!Written July 3, 2024
- T5919RSsams0 contributionsWorld Class Alsace TourWhat an incredible way to experience so much of the wonderful culture, food, wine, and history of Alsace! Christian was incredible and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us the best tour we have ever experienced!Written June 28, 2024
- Sherpa101012749210 contributionsA wonderful experienceIt was a very nice experience. We visited four beautiful villages and the guide explained the history of those villages. I highly recommend this tour. I thought we will get tired but was not the case. It is a small group tour.Written June 22, 2024
- F3457TIhelenm0 contributionsWonderful and interesting tourThis trip is excellent and we loved every minute. Christian was passionate about the area, a mine of information and very helpful. The pickup was easy, everything was as stated and we had a wonderful day. Thank you.Written June 20, 2024
- allaboutcricket0 contributionsA pretty little townA very pretty little town. Not many places to eat open on Saturday night when we visited. We booked The Laundry restaurant for Sunday evening and it was amazing! Colmar has many more coloured buildings than nearby Strasbourg and it's more affordable to stay too.Written June 17, 2024
- benton25690 contributionsExcellent TourThis was a fantastic tour to get acquainted with the small medieval wine towns surrounding Colmar. We had sufficient time to visit eat location (4) as well as time for lunch and shopping. The tour ended with a visit to a local winery where you have the opportunity to buy wine afterwards. Bottle prices began at around 6 euros - very good prices by American Standards. One suggestion: the wine tasting was given by the tour guide. He definitely knew his stuff but it would have been nice to see more of the winery / vineyard and heard from the owner (who was right there). It felt a little rushed at this point but it was a full day and there was so much to take in.Written June 6, 2024
- Alingyk0 contributionsAbsolutely amazing!Didier is professional, humorous and a perfect guide, he knows the villages very well and happy to share the stories and cultures with us. Happy to have Didier to show me around the 4 wonderful villages in Alsace and had a very nice wine tasting. Highly recommend! I had so much fun and no regret to see these beautiful villages with my own eyes! Eguisheim, Kayserberg, Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr, all are my favourite villages🥰 Thank you Didier!Written June 5, 2024
- dmjhfc0 contributionsNo wine tasting experienceIt ws a great look at the region, but the web site and advertising indicate it was a wine tasting trip/experience. There was no wineries visited and no wine experience attached to this trip..Written June 2, 2024
- KathrynJ580 contributionsGreat way to see the Alsace villages. This was a very nice tour of four Alsace villages. All were lovely and hearing the stories from Didier made them more interesting. It was a great way to see a lot without having to rent a car then worry about parking, etc. We had free time for lunch and a wine tasting at the end. It was a very good day! Didier also was very helpful to me getting in and out of the van. He was personable and informative. I highly recommend this tour.Written June 2, 2024

Lovely Christmas market in Colmar. The following weekend we did the Stausburg Market and we all preferred Colmar. Very quaint and village-like. Looks like a Disney movie set. If you plan to eat lunch, make a reservation (all the places were full when we wanted to eat) or go early before the rush.

We recently used Alsace Original Experiences for two tours during our week stay in Colmar and both trips were excellent. We had a wonderful tour guide in Max for both days and we enjoyed exploring the Alsace region and going into Germany to visit Freiburg for the day as well.
Our first tour was the all day N1 Christmas in Alsace village tour when we visited three different villages throughout Alsace. Max promptly picked us up at our apartment in a wonderful clean Mercedes SUV equipped with wifi. We explored throughout the day and Max gave us a wonderful layout and history of each village as we explored on our time.
He also had warm coffee and treats once we returned backed to the van to prepare for our next village stop. He booked us a wonderful lunch reservation for our second village stop and it was a wonderful meal to give us energy for the afternoon of exploring another quaint village and a wonderful stop at a local winery for a wine tasting that was a truly great experience. We had a lovely tasting at the Frette winery and came home with three bottles of the incredible wine of the Alsace region.
We highly recommend the N1 Christmas all day village tour of Alsace with stops at Eguisheim, Riquewhir, and Kayseresberg. In addition to the winery visit for the lovely tasting of the great Alsace wine.
For our second tour, we headed to Germany to visit Freiburg for the day and was very glad we did as its a lovely town. The weather was beautiful and Max again did a wonderful job of getting us to and from our destination along giving us history and recommendations of the town. We had a wonderful day and we use Alsace Original Experiences for any future tours in Colmar.
Thanks so much again to Alsace Original Experiences and to Max our tour guide for two wonderful days of exploring the Alsace region during our recent holiday to Colmar. We highly recommend them for your guided tours for a great overall experience.

The Christmas markets were lovely. All the little towns themselves had to be seen to be believed they are so fairytale like. The wine tour was great. very interesting and plenty of time to try the various wines afterwards all which were lovely, I would have bought lots if I didn't have to fly back home the following day.

Very beautiful city, Christmas is magic here, I recommend a maximum visit of 3 days then it would become excessive even if other cities and villages in Alsace that are worth visiting are well connected... Prices very similar to all Christmas markets; high but worth it.
Highly recommended to spend a nice Christmas weekend in this splendid place

Experience the most beautiful Christmas markets in Alsace and around Colmar without stress. The shuttle bus runs every half hour on weekends and every hour during the week.
Very well organized.
There are various routes.
Buses are always full.
€15 per person.
We were thrilled. Highly recommended.

Do the markets include many handmade crafts? We are thinking of going to Colmar in 2019 for our annual Christmas trip. Just came back from Zagreb which was sadly just food, drink and hats. If anybody can fill us in with a bit more information about the types of crafts, that would be much appreciated. Thank you and Merry Christmas :)
