We enjoyed a ride on the jaunting car that included a nice tour through Killarney National Park where we were able to spot red tailed deer and Sika deer. Our guide was knowledgeable about the area and provided lovely commentary.
We then took a cruise around the lower lake and saw many of the 30 islands. Also saw the white tailed sea eagle - a pair in flight. Our guide for this portion was also very knowledgeable and friendly.
A very nice afternoon spent in this beautiful area.

We had a fab time. We were met by Billy our guide on the jaunty car and dolly the horse..he was so chatty and knowledgeable and we all loved him and the beautiful tour around the national park. He dropped us at Ross Castle ruins also beautiful and we caught the boat tour. Also with a lovely captain who was witty and knowledgeable and very experienced.as we had a young rowdy bunch on the tour ..he managed to direct them to stay at the back of the boat so they were having a ball. And the rest of us were able to listen to him and enjoy the tour also...would definitely recommend it as a relaxed entertaining insightful trip ..we were a family of 5 ...Kids 17 14 and 5

This was great. We met at Ross Castle and were taken by van to meet our haunting car. Bernie and his horse Brodie then took us 7 miles through the Gap of Dunloe. The scenery was beautiful. There were lots of stops for pictures and you could walk for parts of the trip. We stopped and had lunch and then transferred to our boat for the hour trip back to Ross Castle. We enjoyed it - worth doing!

Absolutely loved the jaunting. Our guide Michael was so funny and the kids and I absolutely adored him. We also did the lake tour; that was less thrilling than the jaunting, but still a nice trip. But I’d much rather have spent the 2nd hour with Michael and his jokes!
Highly recommend for anyone visiting!

Excellent service
The lakes and national park speak for themselves absolutely amazing.
But it’s the people who make the trip 5 star the boat staff the jaunting drivers, people in Killarney are second to none for hospitality niceness, kindness and all round good fun.

Amazing service and tours which really made our 'stay-cation' experience. Killarney is beautiful as is but made all the better with a fantastic tour of the National Park and Lakes organised by Tangneys.
Makes for the perfect day out to explore all there is to see and all for a great value price, they even picked us up from our hotel. We had great fun and learned loads about the park, wildlife and history.
Now more than ever its time to support local businesses. This is a must for your stay in Killarney, dont miss out!

We really enjoyed both the cruise and jaunting car ride for different reasons. It's always peaceful to cruise on the water. This was especially because we not only learned about the monks that lived on an island in the middle of the lake but also learned about the way the lake was formed and how difficult it is to navigate through it's shoals and rock outcroppings.
The jaunting car (which I learned is an Irish thing) was a blast. Our driver was a total character. we rode through the Killarney Park and saw two different types of deer and then by the lake before returning back the hotel. Our driver, who was in his 70's, was hysterical. He told a few off color jokes which made to tour even more fun. all in all two great experiences.

This was a beautiful way to spend a couple of hours. We started with the cruise from the Ross Castle ruins after which our jaunting ride was awaiting us. We were seated with a rug over us and went on a delightful trot into the National Park. Our driver offered explanations along the way, all the while gently encouraging his horse to do his bidding. Wonderful.

We planned our visit to Ross Castle in Killarney National Park to include this combination tour.
We really enjoyed are jaunting car tour with Debbie the horse & Michael the tour guide. He really knew his stuff, very informative & great local knowledge all with a quirky sense of humour on current affairs & balanced with a serious side too. We travelled through the beautiful park with its stunning views.
We then walked to the boarding area for the cruise of Lough Leane on the Lily of Killarney; Captain Dan was informative on local hotels, landmarks & history of the area as we sailed the lough with its breath-taking views.
This was a lovely experience in an amazing place...

Both activities were lovely. The jaunting car takes you through beautiful views, and the guides are very friendly and can tell you all about Killarney history and daily life. The cruise boats are very spacious and comfy, the guides are informational, and the views are lovely. Overall, these two experiences combined really lets you take in the beauty of this stunning location, and is worth your time.

The trip I went on took us through the park but not the Gap, even though the Gap was where I thought we were going. The carriages that go through the Gap depart from the town, whereas the ones that take you through the park depart from inside the park. Be sure not to make the same mistake I did, and double-check you buy the correct tickets for whichever location you want to ride through - the park or the Gap.
What times are they at and what if our hotel is in Dublin is there a bus or how did anyone else do it

Does the jaunty car take you through the whole gap of dunloe? how long is the boat ride and how long is the jaunting car tour through the gap? I've done the gap of dunloe tours before which was a longer experience, the bus picks us up from our hotel ( and many other passengers a long the wa which is time consuming) and takes us to the the gap which was about an hour and a half in the jaunting cart and then we stopped for lunch, and then the boat ride was about an hour as well and then we end up at ross castle.
that was a 10-4 day. I'm trying to cut it shorter because we have a long drive ahead of us but i don't want to miss the full gap of dunloe experience and being that it said your tour was only two hours i wasn't sure if wed get the same full experience. I"m bringing a friend with me who has never been to ireland and i want her to see the whole Gap of Dunloe. So i'd like more information please on the exact scheduling thanks so so much. Sara
