We enjoyed our first morning in Edinburgh with David on a private walking tour with my husband and our 10 year-old son. David was such a font of knowledge. He really connected the city for us & gave us a great primer with which to enjoy the city. He brought together the geography, history, literature, & architecture. We could have walked with him all day! The following day we enjoyed visiting the National Museum of Scotland & saw a few of the pieces David recommended. We followed that up with a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse & got a fun surprise when we saw David narrating part of the audio guide at the palace.

Dear Coylek Thank you so much for your super Review of your Tour with David Forsyth. He is indeed a fount of knowledge on all things to do with Edinburgh and Scotland in general.; We are delighted that he gave you such a 'good primer', as you so succintly put it, to enjoy the city. Excellent that you visited the National Museum of Scotland the next day and viewed the pieces that he had recommended. It would be lovely to see you again if ever you visit Edinburgh again. Best wishes Stuart U.

We toured Edinburgh the second day we arrived in the city on a 3.5 hour private walking tour. Our tour guide, Alison, was very well versed in the history and the literature of the city. Since we were on a literary tour, but didn’t know as much about the literature of Scotland, she was wonderful in piecing together for us what we knew with what we wanted to learn. She is an exceptional storyteller and this was the most memorable aspect of the tour for us. She also offered a few off the beaten path recommendations for dining and touring. We ended up finding her recommendation for lunch a charming historical choice. The writers museum she took us to was another favorite memory. We even enjoyed good conversation over over a cup of coffee as we took a quick rest stop during the tour. Well done Alison!

I took a 3.5 hour tour with Dr Alison Duncan, and it was wonderful. She has an extraordinary breadth of knowledge about the city, she'd prepared the tour meticulously (I had specific areas I wanted to know more about) and was super engaging and fun. I left feeling like I'd taken a crash course in all the most interesting stories behind Edinburgh and with a really good idea of how the city fits together. Highly recommended.

An excellent way to learn about the history of Edinburgh. Stuart is extremely knowledgeable whilst also being very friendly and easy going. He informs without lecturing and is so relaxed that you do not realise that you have just spent over three hours walking the streets of this great city.
We have no hesitation in recommending Stuart Usher to guide you around Edinburgh and can only advise that you do it at the beginning of your holiday to improve your awareness of the city for the remainder of your stay.

Dear Peter and Jane Thank you very much for your marvellous Review. I recall you both well and that I enjoyed both your companies very much indeed. I am sure that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Edinburgh to the hilt and also that you tried some of my suggestions as to what to visit. I do hope that you went to Surgeons Hall as well. This Hall was the final destination of the infamous Burke and Hare's victims! You must visit our fair city again some day. We would be delighted to host you again. Best wishes Stuart U

We were with Stewart today for a 3 hour guided tour of Edinburgh. We had an amazing experience. Stewart brought knowledge, education, history, philosophy, fun, humour and inspiration. Fantastic interaction with a group of 10 strangers who he brought together with ease and comfort. This tour with Stewart is an absolute must and we wouldn’t have missed it.
Thank you Stewart

Our group of four adults met Stuart Usher promptly at 9:30am on Sunday to begin our 3.5 hour walking tour of Edinburgh. Stuart promised to give us the highlights of this fantastic city and he certainly delivered on his promise. Stuart is the embodiment of Scotland in mannerism, accent and an incredible knowledge of his homeland. His attention to the small details and explanation of history and modern Scotland was exceptional. I have traveled extensively worldwide and used the services of so many fantastic guides. Stuart is an exceptional guide and amongst the best that I have met. He showed us the little nooks and crannies of Edinburgh that one would never see or learn about without a professional historian. I highly recommend Edinburgh Guided Tours and Stuart Usher… safe travels!!

Stuart Usher knows the city by the back of his hand. Not only what you see but the history related to it. His family roots are deep in this city. He takes you places you may never heard of. Highly recommend the longer tour as there so much to learn from him other than the name of buildings.

Edinburgh is a stunning city with a colourful and vibrant city. It's history it's even more eventful with twist and turns that traverse politics, religion, philosophy and art.
Stuart has the facts, the figures, the dates, in fact all that you'd expect from a guided tour, but he does it with wit, charm and an edge of mischievous humour.
If you are going to do a tour, Stuart is the man; or Gentleman for the job.
Thank you Stuart. James and Sharon
