Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness and Glen Coe Day Trip from Edinburgh
From US$60.75
Overview

Get acquainted with the must-see Scottish Highlands―home to Loch Ness, Cairngorms National Park, Stirling Castle, and Glen Coe―on this full-day tour from Edinburgh. It's a great way to see more Highland highlights in less time. Traveling aboard a coach with a guide means you won't have to worry about navigation, and you'll gain deeper insight than you would exploring on your own.

What to Expect

Meet your guide and group in central Edinburgh to board a coach bound for Inverness. Enjoy the fact that you don't have to puzzle over logistics or traffic. Pass the Forth Railway Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and stop in Pitlochry for a snack (own expense).

Drive through Cairngorns National Park, where you can focus on taking in the views while your guide narrates information about the landscape. At Loch Ness, spend some free time exploring and eat lunch (own expense). Cruises on the loch are available at additional cost.

Move on to Glen Coe, a landscape composed of waterfalls, rivers, ridges, and mountain peaks. Your guide fills you in on the ancient MacDonald clan that resided here before turning back toward Edinburgh. Pass Stirling Castle, pausing for photos of the royal residence, and learn about its history with William Wallace and the Battle of Stirling Bridge.

Return to Edinburgh for drop-off.

Too long for a day tour, and very few stops

We were on the bus from 8.00 AM in the morning till 8.30 PM. Of which we were constantly on the bus for about 9 hours. A totally unwanted stop at a small village called Pitlochry and a few random stops for photos. The star...More
