Definitely worth a visit. Went on a semi windy and cold day but was still enjoyable. The tour includes an informative audio commentary and really helpful and knowledgeable guides as well. A highlight was buying some handmade fudge, made by Poppy and its very delicious and

It is wonderful to learn that you had an interesting and informative experience aboard Britannia! Indeed, the tour is self-guided using our complimentary audio handset, allowing visitors to explore Britannia’s five decks at their own pace, whilst learning about the Yacht’s impressive history. Our dedicated staff will be delighted to read your kind words, as they work hard to ensure that every visitor’s tour of the Royal Yacht is extra special. Our Resident Confectioner, Poppy, will be thrilled to learn that you found our Britannia fudge, which is handmade on board in the original NAAFI, to be delicious. For the information of others, we are an all-weather attraction with the majority of the tour being inside the ship. Many thanks for visiting.

This was one of the most enjoyable things I did while in Edinburgh. I was surprised by the size of the yacht and how well laid out the tour was. The audio guide makes for a very informative and thorough experience. The modifications that have been made to the yacht allows

On a cold day in January it was not too busy and we enjoyed our visit and had plenty of time to see everything and lots of stops for photos. They give you an audio guide which is essential . It is nice to finish off your visit with a visit to the restaurant for coffee and a

We pre-booked online at £15 each for seniors including an audio set. We caught the 22 bus opposite Waverley station on Princes Street. It cost £1.80 each way and you need the exact money or card to pay (but you can’t pay for 2 tickets with one card). We had expected a ‘wow’

It is wonderful to learn that you had such an interesting tour! As you mention, Britannia is easily accessible by bus with numbers 11, 22 and 35 travelling from the city centre for £1.70 each way for adults (correct change needed or use contactless) and 80p for children (correct change needed). E-tickets for the buses can also be purchased by card via the Lothian Bus M-Tickets app. Indeed, our Visitor Centre is located on the second floor of Ocean Terminal. This has allowed us to turn Britannia into a highly accessible attraction for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy. As you say, during the tour you get to explore Britannia’s five decks, from the Bridge to the Engine Room, using our complimentary audio handset. While there is a contrast between the simply furnished State Apartments, and more cramped Crew’s Quarters, whenever the Royal Yachtsmen return for their Annual Working Party, they speak so fondly of their time on board. The immaculate Engine Room is a highlight for many of our visitors, and our dedicated Maintenance and Housekeeping teams work hard to keep it in top condition, as it would have been during Britannia’s Royal service. Many thanks for visiting and for giving us five stars, we really appreciate it!
