Paul gave us such an informative tour today and we couldn’t have asked for a better (or funnier) coach/tour guide!
The itinerary implied that we would begin our trip at the Giant’s Causeway but that actually happened towards the end of the tour instead but we appreciated the build up to the visit. It also helped having access to toilets every 15-30 minutes.
Paul was great at sharing interesting historical facts about Northern Ireland and including Game of Throne references here and there too.
All in all, we highly recommend everyone to take this trip especially if the they’re only visiting for a few days like we are and want to visit as many sights as possible. Thanks again Paul and McCombs!

Thank you for an amazing tour to the Giants Causeway! Constant engagement and amazing commentary from Paul kept the small mini coach thoroughly entertained and laughing at his anecdotes.
I would highly recommend this tour, as it is great value for money and the constant breaks and stops helped break up the journey. The opportunity to keep refreshed, with food and comfort breaks were appreciated and the opportunity to have lunch at a lovely pub (if needed) perfect!
Thank you for a memorable day.

This was my second time being on a tour with this company; this time I brought a friend.
Our driver, Stephen, was also the driver on the bus all those years ago.
I read comments before booking the tour, although I had no doubts we would have a good time.
Get on this tour if you are prepared to hear from a local, someone who will give facts about life in Northern Ireland - not someone who got info from a book or the internet.
I agree with McCombs management: speaking over the driver is an absolute lack of respect to the other passengers who are enjoying being on the bus hearing the driver.
Stephen is brillant, positive, respectful, funny, strict but fair; careful and put people at ease.
Drivers are looking after a group of 60 people and it is a legal requirement for them to keep everyone together and on time to return safely to the City.
Some of the locations were still close to not fault of McCombs or even their control. You have to remember that they do not own the places we visit on the tour.
I would however say that McCombs has a responsibility to inform passengers of the amendments on the tour prior to getting on the bus - if they decide not to join after that, it’s their lost.
We were told of the changes prior to departure, still had an amazing time; and my friend was delightful of the value for money this day out was.
Thank you to McCombs for arranging a stop at the Fullerton for lunch

My rating of 2 stars is mostly because of the communication between the tour operator and the visitors.
We had booked this tour thinking we had a certain itinerary that suited our needs and interests.
This is not what we got.
Many of the stops we changed to Game of Thrones filming spots before heading to the causeway. We weren't told about this until 30 minutes AFTER the bus left for the day.
If we wanted a Game of Thrones tour that's what we would have booked. The disappointment on the bus was palpable. Clearly nobody had been told prior to departure.
The lunch option was also a disappointment. Very basic and expensive for what you get.
On a better note, our guide and driver Pat was very good, funny, knowledgeable and helpful.
I wouldn't recommend this tour operator based on the changes to itinerary and lack of communication about it. If we wouldve have known prior to the day of the tour we would have canceled and found another excursion that suited our interests .

Thank you for your feedback!
Please note, that all stops are stated on the website when booking the tours. Our Giants Causeway Tour, and Game of Thrones Tour have the exact same stops. This is due to all the lovely locations all being along the scenic Coastal Route to the Giants Causeway, all of which are advertised clearly on our website

Wonderful trip with an excellent tour guide “Steven”, a very informative and have a lot of facts. We had two hours for the against castaway, which sound like a lot of time, but we hardly got down to the sore (20 minutes walking) took some photos from different angles, and got back! (there is a bus to take you up £1 each but always full, so leave some time for getting on the bus).
There is an option to buy your sandwich at a supermarket (sales, cold or hot sandwiches, pastries, soft drinks..etc.), or there is another stop at 12 pm at a restaurant, the price of the meal is around £11 to £13 (you need to pre-order), you may eat your sandwich in the back yard of the restraint, there are some picnic bench, nice place if not raining!
The other visit for the case and the other location are wonderful too, with many stops to stretch your legs and take some photos, the trip was worth it. Make sure to wear a coat, it's always cold in the north, and proper walking shoes to climb the stones at the causeway and walk to the cave. Bring some snacks or buy them on your way, they stop twice at supermarkets.

After looking at options which included hiring a car from Belfast city for the day to visit the Giants Causeway we booked this trip. We were not dissapointed what an absolutely fantastic day trip. It was made for me and my partner who are micro tourists who like lots of short stops not ones for pursuing activities for hours in end. Patrick was absolutely fantatsic the tour guide and driver what a funny lovely man made the trip. If you haven't already and are thinking of booking a trip then please do I wluld highly recommend. As someone who uses trip advisor as a basis of booking the majority of my travel plans I hope this review is helpful

Our tour guide Paul was absolutely fantastic! Super friendly and welcoming from the minute we stepped on the bus, and full of insights into almost everything we drove past, he made the driving part as interesting as the places we stopped at. Paul also had a few jokes in his locker to keep things light (we were laughing Paul, promise!).
The Giant's Causeway is a must see if you come to Belfast and I can't think of a more convenient and entertaining way to see it. At £25 this tour is an absolute bargain - Paul worked tirelessly to keep us all entertained for 9 hours, what a legend. Whatever they're paying you Paul, it's not enough!

Booked this trip as it came recommended and it surely did not disappoint! Very engaging and also uniquely interesting stops. The journey was well paced and commentary throughout from our driver Derek was outstanding. He really pulled the group together and made the journey between stops entertaining with good insights and interesting facts and the occasional bad joke, however all in all a very good trip and would definitely recommend to anyone!

Booked this trip as my mum really wanted to see the causeway and it was one of the most reasonable options to book onto rather than using a taxi. The coach picked us up from our hotel so this was convenient for us.
Our coach driver Carl was great, really informative welcoming and friendly. He guided us through the journey as well as each stop.
I just personally found the tour too long and where I’m not a games of thrones fan, a part of it was wasted on me. It was also incredibly frustrating that Carl would give the bus a time to return and on a few stops some individuals were back late which meant in turn those who had come back on time were waiting. This is no fault of carls or the company itself but maybe stricter rules need to be put in place, I can tell you in London the bus would have gone without them. One person was over 15 minutes late to return on the last stop, which then meant we were late getting back. After an early start and a long day, I think I was just over it by then.
If the company were looking for something to do for the future, I would have still paid the same money for the causeway and a lunch stop rather than a whole day out.
I would recommend the coach company to others but it is a very long day made worse when people on the tour are selfish.
Thank you Carl.

We were a party of 6 from Wales and I must say that it was one of the best value for money and most enjoyable trips we had been on. The weather was terrible on that day, we had sleet, snow, rain, wind and sunshire but the marvellous driver Patrick made the trip. He was so knowledgeable and informative all through the day and put everyone at ease. Looked after us so well. A great asset to the Firm we would say. Saw everything bar the caves as the tides were too high but we can have an excuse now to come back again. Would not hesitate to recommend this company for any tour. Giants Causeway well worth a visit and the run up on the coast road was wonderful.

I would check with the tour companies. We were on a really big coach. I believe they have smaller vans/busses for smaller groups.
There is a rain prediction for the day I want to book a trip. Will there still be a tour in case of rain or will it be postponed ?

I would check with the specific tour company you are looking to book with regarding their policies regarding the weather. When we left Belfast the skies were overcast and we encountered some rain but then the skies cleared and we had perfect weather for the rest of the tour.

No, from what we heard they don’t allow tour buses on it now and you have to reserve a car spot to go over it.

I would look into a tour that picks up and drops off at the cruise ship port. It would make your life a lot easier.

You'd be better asking your tour operator this question as I don't know how long you'll be in belfast. The tour leaves belfast at 8am and gets back around 6pm. Some of the cruise operators actually arrange tours to giants Causeway etc.
I have a very active 5 year old, he did a full few days in London with me (I did 12,000 steps one day). Would this tour be ok for him?

Yes - it’s a good walk down to the Causeway. Lots of space to run around and burn off the energy. Just keep an eye open on the very top of the Causeway with some of the heights involved.
