      A lot to improve!
•The village is not pet friendly (even for small dogs that you can carry in your hand) while they let parents leave their kids unattended touching clothes with dirty hands. •The village is not really big however there is a decent selection of shops that are open during this covid period. •Check prices before paying the outlet prices. I had kept note of some prices from their normal shops and waited to check the prices at their Maasmechelen outlet shop when they got the collection there and sometimes there is no real discount. • Some shops get also the latest collections obviously with normal prices no discounts. • During covid only 1 person per household was allowed in shops. This caused many to wait outside next to the door! Funny that overcrowding happens outside while the other person is shopping all alone using chatting apps to be able to get a feedback on items from their partner? Resulting in longer queues as people take longer to shop. Bad planning! • Restaurants were currently closed due to covid. Crowded corners with people eating snacks standing was allowed. Prices of food from the little snacking stands were more expensive compared to pre covid.

Not what I expected it to be "Sadly"
Physically, the place is very nice and well kept, but the selection inside the stores is very underwhelming especially for Men. Long ques to enter the shops, employees not the friendliest in some stores. Restaurants and cafes are full with long ques. Prices also are not that cheap even with the sales season, online are way better deals. Glad I visited it to tick it off my list but nothing that impressed me.

VIP experience that never happened, without an apology
The village has a nice selection of stores and enough eateries to obtain your necessary amount of calories to help you through your day. However, the VIP hospitality team were a bit of a disaster. We were told too book the VIP lounge 48hrs in advance and call 10minutes prior to arrival so someone would welcome you at the parking. None of this happened. There was no one waiting at the parking and we were told that the lounge was in use due to a large event. Appalling really. If the customer needs to confirm 48hrs in advance, the hospitality team could have at least had the decency to contact us to inform us of the inconvenience. However they chose not to. It’s unprofessional, rude and extremely devious.

      No outlet prices
We've visited some outlets, we'll OK we visited more than 'some', but this was somewhat of a disappointment. The pricing was often too high, or the discount not sufficient (depends on how you look at it). Another negative point, for us, the brands you can find here. We hoped for more higher end brands also. We'll consider another center next time!

terrible staff in the store Calvin Klein Underwear
I have experienced such rude treatment from the staff of store Calvin Klein Underwear. Two employees were busy of doing nothing and that’s why probably could not help me to find my size. When I asked them for help, imagine what kind of faces I met!

      Overrated
We visited Maasmechelen Village this year on Black Friday, thinking they advertise with outlet prices and according to the website there were extra sales on most articles (up to 70% on the outlet prices). Well, the start with a positive note, it wasn't a "real" lie On "some" products there was a sale of (not 70%) maximum 40% on the outlet prices. But that brings us immediately to the essence of the review: the so called outlet prices... What a hoax!!! The label on the articles indeed advertise a retail price and a outlet price, BUT, the outlet price is nearly the actual retail price and the actual retail prices have been artificially inflated to make the outlet price look good. To cut a long story short, not worth going there to do good bargains. If you buy online, you find your stuff cheaper, it's not the overstock they are trying to sell you, and it's deliverd at home. All in all, a no go.

Waited 1 hour for the food to arrive !!!
We had been shopping the entire morning around 12pm we looked for a place for lunch since we always had good experience with Le Pain Quotidien. We stopped here had been seated looked at the menu ordered drinks and shortly after ordered our food we had ordered 3 sandwiches and 1 croquet. The drinks came after the order was put in. More people were coming so it got busy and they were also ordering food and drinks which seem to come not long after they arrived some of the people had come after us and had been served already some where already leaving again. After some time we asked bout our food they didn't say anything at first and told us they would check only when I asked to see the manager he came to tell us that the order hadn't come through. So we asked him what he was going to do about it. The food will be coming soon and for the waiting time we would get our drinks on the house. He should have given us our food for free as well. If this would happen in a 5 star hotel all is for free. But I guess that is Belgium mentality. Lucky we are far away from that place now.

A Very Good Day Out - Good Shopping Too
We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Maasmechelen Village. The outlet staff were courteous and helpful, without being pushy and overbearing. The bargains were real and plentiful. The restaurants offered various types of food, plus the usual treats. A really good day out from Brussels.

Perfect place for shopping and to relax !
I am trying to go there as much as I can, just to walk around and relax, but also make great shopping deals. What I love in the Village is the place, parking facilities, good food. I am going there early morning at the opening or when it is close to close, so we can have a burger at Ellis ;) My next visit is planned on Saturday 28 September 2019

The Village is super nice and it has many great brands like Scotch&Soda, Versace, Armani, Sandro... (btw I love my new shorts!) I have spent the day there and will definitely come back! Try the mussels in the restaurant Le Petit Belge, delicious!!

Outlet taken over by Charles Kaisin?!
The outlet has been taken over indeed by Charles Kaisin from April to May 2019. <<See my pictures>> Charles is a Belgian designer who transformed the Maasmechelen Village MMV (outlet) into a ‘Proud to be Belgian’ art style. He used the Belgian flag national colors to create a cool (atmos)phere. And take a ‘SELFIE’ at the 19.7 foot (6 meters) high ‘Manneken Pis’, meaning "Little Pisser" in Dutch. The original statue is a landmark 61 cm (24 in) bronze sculpture in the centre of Brussels (Belgium), depicting a naked little boy urinating into a fountain's basin and was designed by Hiëronymus Duquesnoy the Elder. Charles Kaisin did a great job on his very own surprising, humorous and slightly surrealist way.

      Nice outlet center
Not a top tourist destination, but still a nice shopping outlet center. Free parking and not at all busy during our visit. Lots of stores and restaurants.

      Good to shop
Many shops and nice atmosphere. Large discount on all things sold in the shops. In the surrounding there are many things to do beside shopping.

What a disappointment! Expensive for what it is. No big choice and if you see something you like you will only find very small or very big sizes. I cannot call this an outlet shopping village. I drove over one hour to get there and left one hour later... So no, I do not recommend! Apparently there is a very nice and huge outlet just crossing the Dutch border (near Maastricht). Will try that one.

This is a personal and very BIG THANK YOU to Daniel and Carlo from the security team. On my last trip to the village I lost a personal item. And did not even realize that until approached by the security team.
    Thank you.
    Your professionalism saved the day.
I wish you all the best to you and your families.
