Amazing Cruise Of The Harbor On A Paddle Wheel Boat.
Aug 2019
We joined this amazing one hour cruise of the Burrard Inlet and Vancouver Harbor in a paddle wheel boat run by Harbor Cruises. We booked it online to avoid disappointment in case it was full, but on weekdays or for morning cruises one can just turn up at their quayside at Denman Street near Downtown and hop on to their quaint ship. We went for the 12.15 pm cruise. Seniors get a discount on the ticket. Drinks and snacks can be purchased on the ship.

We went up to the top level deck which was open air. There were about 30 other tourists on board which included some Indians, Chinese, Hispanics and some Americans as well. We had plenty of space to move around from one side of the ship to the other, to see the wonderful sights in all directions. The ship chugged along at 6 knots with a paddle wheel type of propeller churning up the water behind. We saw cruise ships, container ships, seaplanes and freighters along the harbor. We got excellent views of Stanley Park, North Shore mountains, Canada Place, Waterfront station and more. We saw harbor seals at one end of the harbor. There was a sulfur factory and the dry docks at the other end. We saw the Sea Bus catamaran ferries going to North Vancouver and back, and innumerable seaplanes taking off and landing on the water.

It was a 1 hour cruise from 12.15 to 1.15 pm, and we enjoyed it immensely.

Amazing sights
Sep 2019
This was the perfect way to have a look at the city from the water. The boat was large enough to find room to take pics and the commentary was very informative to. Loved being able to get up close to the seals at the jetty.

Relaxing hour
Sep 2019
The web site suggests pre booking but I took a punt and just turned up. No problems getting on. Car parking adjacent to the boat but not cheap (like all public parking nowadays). Boat left on time with not a lot of people (plenty of room). A variety of drinks and snacks for purchase. Good commentary from the staff and the boat went up one side of the harbour, across then down the other side. The captain took us in close to some seals basking on some logs which was a bonus. The boat was clean and having a paddle wheel, would be interesting for kids. A good little tour.

Cruising on a Paddle Wheeler
Jul 2019
What a way to see the harbour of Vancouver but on a Paddle Wheeler. Great views of the city from the river. The captain was great with a narrative of iconic shore locations, even locations out in the harbour.

Relaxing and Informative
We enjoyed the Harbour Cruise a lot. It was a relaxing way to see more of the city without having to hike everywhere. The ship was clean and had lots of indoor seating and windows for those of us who wanted to stay inside.

Short, but interesting
Aug 2019
A nice boat and a good narration. The tour is informative, interesting, and relaxing. And of course there are many photo opps. Among others, I loved taking pictures of the aquaplanes departing and landing in midst of the harbor.

Experience not to miss
Even though it was raining the paddle boat still set sail. It was for an hour and during that time the staff were pleasant, informative about what we were seeing, smartly dressed and attentive.
You got to see Vancouver from a different angle and it didn’t disappoint. Make sure you arrive 10/15 minutes before departure to get a good spot.

Excellent Cruise
Aug 2019
While we were a few minutes late leaving, the harbor tour was a really nice way to spend an hour on a sunny afternoon. We were able to see the harbour seals on the north shore as well as a couple of sea planes taking off and landing. Next time we will try and take the evening Dinner cruise.
