My fiancé and I just jumped off the Banff wildlife tour. Meeting the tour bus was very smooth. After a small drive around town to pick up about 18 people we started the tour. There were about 5 stops at lookouts and lakes and even the Banff railway station for a quick toilet stop and a look at original pictures of the Railway. We enjoying hot chocolate and maple syrup cookies (delicious) The scenery was unbeatable being winter, snow and ice. Unfortunately we did not see any wildlife but Hugh was full of great information and print outs of photos of different animals with info and original buildings .Banff is wonderful ,thanks from Australia

Bow fall was beautiful, the photos I got didn't do it justice. Lake Minnewanka is absolutely amazing, the sheer size of it took my breath away, you could walk on it too since it was frozen. The history been told to us by our guide was informative and always had us engaged. We got to see elk, a wolf hunting & the pack howling and some wolf and coyote tracks. Definitely a must see.

What an informative tour. Hugh was fantastic. We stopped and viewed wildlife and he gave us great history about the park. I liked that this tour was smaller than the bigger buses we were on earlier in the week. He made sure he knew our names and answered everyone’s questions.
I would recommend this tour.

Hi there, Thank you for leaving us a wonderful review, we are so happy you enjoyed the tour with Hugh (how can you not?!). Was there any particular animals you were able to see on tour?

We did our Wolfdog Sanctuary tour, Snowy Owl Dog Sledding, Lake Louise and our supposed evening Johnston canyon walk with Discover Banff Tours. Tour and experience in the actual activity was great, however, the booking process, arrangement and last minute changes and cancellation threw us off and made us really stressed the entire time given our very limited time of stay in Banff which means we had everything planned ahead to maximize our stay. We also missed the Johnston Canyon walk as they had to cancel the tour last minute. I would recommend that you think real hard before going with this tour company. Bring your business and money elsewhere (or even better, book directly with the actual business) and save yourself the hassle and stress. Most of the activities you can book directly with the business: Wolfdog sanctuary you can book direct with Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary (cheaper), Powder Hound Dog Sled you can book direct with Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours (cheaper), Banff Gondola you can book direct with Banff Jasper Collection (cheaper), Lake Louise just go there by yourself (Discover Banff Tours doesnt offer a full on guided tour, they just drop you off there)

Hello Angela, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the booking experience with us. We pride ourselves on providing the best customer experience that we can, and so we have taken a close look at your reservation. Please be assured that we charge exactly the same retail rate for all of these experiences as you would find booking direct (and a variety of discounts on our own tours), although a 3.5% booking fee does apply to debit and credit card payments as with many other local companies including the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary. However, visitors are welcome to pay cash at our reservations store on Banff Ave if they wish to avoid this small fee. From looking at your booking it appears that the originally requested timeslot for your dogsledding tour was unavailable, and we reached out via email within an hour of receiving your booking request to provide alternative options. As explained with Snowy Owl dogsledding tours, often only the 11am and 1pm tmeslots can be confirmed ahead of time and the 9am and 3pm timeslots remain on a pending status until sufficient sleds are booked by Snowy Owl. We recommended to select a confirmed timeslot but we were more than happy to move your tours around when you opted to wait until a few days prior to confirm which times would run, to ensure that you were still able to take part in all of your activities booked with us. Unfortunately some of our tours are subject to mother nature, and may be affected in extreme weather conditions such the snowfall warning last weekend. As a result of the weather and road conditions on Mountain Ave where your hotel was located we weren't able to safely proceed with the Johnston Canyon Icewalk on Saturday evening and provided a full refund to all guests who weren't able to reschedule their tour. This is a rare occurrence but mountain weather can be unpredictable and safety always comes first for us. Our Discover Lake Louise Tour is one of our most popular winter experiences, picking up guests from their hotel and taking them on a guided scenic drive with sightseeing stops along the Bow Valley Parkway and allowing four hours of free time at Lake Louise for guests to ice skate, take a sleigh ride, explore the trails using our complimentary snowshoes and enjoy all there is to do at their leisure. We're sorry if you misunderstood the nature of the tour and didn't see the value in it. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the individual experiences, and hopefully the rest of your time in Banff.

Jeff was our guide for this tour. It was a rather wet day but we were still able to enjoy the tour. Jeff had lots of umbrellas for everone. You could tell by Jeffs descriptions of everything we were seeing, how familiar he was with the area and how much he loved the area. Even with the bad weather we were able to see some wildlife. A herd of Elk were eking out some food close to one of the roads we traveled. This was mostly a bus tour but we did get out of the bus at spots along the way to see some spectacular views. Definitely a tour worth taking and a guide worth having.

A great tour! We saw so much beautiful scenery and some of the smaller animals. Due to the time of year some animals were still hibernating but was still a very enjoyable experience. Our guide, Heidi, was lovely, funny and so knowledgable. There wasn’t a question she couldn’t answer. Would highly recommend using this company as we did a few of their tours and all were brilliant!

This was an amazing tour, I just loved each bit of scenery I saw throughout this tour. Our guide Denise/DJ was simply great and gave a lot of insights about the Banff National park, she was very friendly too. Hot chocolate was amazing and also the maple cream cookies ;). I absolutely recommend this tour to get a feel of Banff in winter.

We wished we had taken this tour before the Brewster Tour because we had been to the same places on it. However, the guide on this tour was very good & told different things so we enjoyed that. We felt it should not be called a wildlife tour because the only wildlife we saw was when a passenger spotted a deer. As a sightseeing tour, we went to a number of places and enjoyed all we saw & heard from the guide.

Rose was a great tour guide - very funny, sweet, and knowledgeable about the area and history of Banff. She took us to many different viewpoints, historical sites, and natural features that we simply would not have been able to see on our own (mostly due to a lack of knowledge...we also did not rent a car and all the sites are far out from Banff town). Lake Minnewanka was spectacular. I was hoping to see some wildlife on this tour but unfortunately we did not spot any, but it was great anyways.

This 3 hr tour of Banff was a really good way to see amazing views and landmarks around Banff when short of time. Our tour guide, Scott, was extremely knowledgable and friendly. The hot chocolate and maple cookies at the end was a very welcome touch. We would highly recommend.
