We saw everything we were promised, and then some!
Absolutely spectacular time, very highly recommended. We saw absolutely everything we were promised, and then some! The driver was very professional and helpful, and great communication from the staff before the program started. It was a little over two hours of time in the water, which was an absolute perfect amount. Everything was done, very efficiently and effectively so we were able to see and experience absolutely everything. We even came back the next day and parasailing, which was also fantastic. Our driver recommended a small local restaurant for a absolutely massive lobster, which we did afterwards. It was great getting out of the hot hotel zone insanity of Cancun for this beautiful area.

        Great Excursion!
We truly enjoyed our experience. The ATV’s took some time getting used to but the ATV, the zipline and especially the Cenote. So let me tell you about the Cenote; cold and a few bats (it’s in a cavern so of course), but by far the best part of the excursion. The lunch they fed us afterwards was good too. I highly recommend it and ask for Tony (he was great)👍🏾

If they want to reschedule for weather, DO IT!
The experience was cool. It’s a hole in the wall business but it’s gated with security. They supply all gear needed and very easy to check in. 2 days before our time they asked if we wanted to reschedule due to weather conditions. I was confused as it didn’t even look like rain was in the forecast. We couldn’t reschedule due to other arrangements and the day of they said our tour was still on. What we found out is that the weather they were talking about was wind and the waves. HOLY COW. I’m surprised they still took us out there. I was fighting for my life bobbing up and down in waves and trying to snorkel and swim at the same time. At one point, I even helped “feed” the fishes and couldn’t take it anymore and stayed on the boat. All stops are in the ocean. So once you leave the dock, you’re gone for over an hour far off in the ocean. They do have a photographer that goes out with you to take pictures for an extra price. It was worth it. I think the experience would have been much better with calmer waves.

        Great Snorkeling Adventure
The transfer from the hotel to the boot yard worked fine. On place it was a little bit crowed and we were a bit lost. First you have to do the check-in and pay the indicated 15 USD / person. At this point, they ask you if you want that they take pictures of you, which we agreed. (Later we received all the picture via link and could download it in high quality) We were then assigned to Billy that gave us the material and also a short instruction. After this, we could go on board the ship (we didn't use the locker and took everything with us on the boat) On the boat we went from one location to another. We are beginner and felt safe the whole time. Maybe we were lucky because we saw 3 turtels and also stingrays beside all the colored fish. A big thank you to our guide Billy, the captain and his boat TS1 and our photographer.

Cancun Total Snorkel - 4 hour tour with transportation
The underwater views were amazing. The underwater reef and wreckage were the best! Definitely worth going on the smaller vessel without the crowds of the bigger boats/catamaran if you are looking for a more personal experience. More time in the water, without the crowds of people swimming all around each other! During our tour, we saw turtles and stingrays with many colored fish species. Our guide, Maya (Carlos) and VC, were super helpful! Thanks guys!!!👍👌

You want to see turtles then book this trip
This was a great well organized tour. Carlos and his crew were great. We took the 7 am tour and it was worst it. We were the first and only boat out on the water at this time. The pick up and drop off at the hotel was well organized. The spots we visited were magical. We saw many turtles of many size and ages. A dream come true

Enjoyed it, especially with a non-swimmer
I tried booking for Wednesday only the day before. When I looked a week earlier, there were multiple time spots available but the day before it was not showing all options. Called Total Snorkel and they explained that it will be too windy and the activity will get cancelled after the 7:30 trip. They also told that Thursday would be the best and Friday and weekend will be worse. I booked for Thursday. Communication was through phone or email. Picked up on time. Small group (8 people). Crew of three - captain of the boat, Mauricio, the guide, and a photographer. Explained the process and make us practice near the dock. One of us didn’t know swimming. Mauricio used a flot for the non-swimmer and pulled the float with a rope whenever we were on the sea. He kept the group together and at the right spots for good views. We saw all kinds of fish, 3-4 turtles, and stingrays! The rays were too fast and a few in the group didn’t get a chance to see. Photographer will love around and try to capture everyone. Overall, great experience, especially since we had a non-swimmer. Mauricio was great! The photos came great. They will tell you only about the photos initially and if you choose the option, you pay it up front. When you come back, they will show videos and say that is for additional charge. This was a bit of sales gimmick. They should have explained it at the front end. Drop of was smooth.

If you are looking for the best experience in Cancun, look no further!!
I had the best experience during this tour! I was a little nervous as I was going solo as a young female in a country where I dont speak the native language, however I felt extremely safe throughout the entirety of the excursion. From the pick up, to registration, to the actual excursion, everything is very organized. The tour guides were fantastic and were a lot of fun. I booked the last time slot and wouldn't have wanted it another way. It was a more intimate experience with only being with 2 other people. You also get to snorkel as the sun is setting. I saw lots of fish, turtles and even a stingray. It was a surreal experience and one I will never forget.

        Best snorkeling in Cancun!
This was an amazing experience! Our main guide was Carlos Pina, and he was fantastic! The crew were also wonderful. They were extremely helpful, and we were fortunate to only have 3 people including us on the excursion. We saw a lot of marine life including multiple different types of schools of fish, a lobster, several BIG sea turtles, a whole herd of sting rays, starfish and a flounder. We also got to see the Cenote, statutes from the MUSA and a shipwreck. The water was choppy, and I was feeling insecure The guide, Carlos, had me hold onto the life saver, and he had direct contact with me the entire time. The crew were extremely knowledgeable and kind. This was the VERY BEST snorkeling experience I ever had. I highly recommend them.

        Nice spots, bad tour
The places were magical but the sea was rough which didn’t stop the tour. We had an option of trying to snorkel despite waves or… lose the money (although the description clearly stated if the weather is not right, the trip will be postponed to the next day). You had to be a really good swimmer to be able to enjoy it! Also mind that these spots are at an open sea - something you couldn’t know from the trip description. But the worst part was a behaviour of the photo/video guide. At the beginning of the trip you heard you’ll be able to buy photos and videos from them. So for the entire thing the guy with a camera was before us, obstructing the view so that HIS footage is better than ours. We also saw a turtle - but of course from afar (the guide was before us) and the little guy was bothered by the guide who basically put the camera just in the turtles face, blocking him. Don’t get fooled if they reply they had no idea - they have footage that confirms how close the guide was.

        Nature is amazing
Very good experience! The guide (daisy) was very good, helped us to find the amazing turtles (I saw 3) and 2 lobsters (I would have missed them). The captain (Juan iirc) was very nice too and the photographer Quique also did an amazing job and I ended up buying the photos and videos after watching them back in the dock. Only one small advice, the first stop (cenotes) wasn't very special and if you don't have a good physical condition try to not get exhausted in that one (some of the people with me went back early to the boat in the reef where I would have stayed for hours). However it's good to be there first to get used to the equipment.

        Long waits
They don't respect your time. Pickup 2 hours before tour, just to sit and wait at the dock. All the tours go to the same place. I would consider a different one.

        Worth every cent!! Amazing!!
This was absolutely amazing. We were a small group and the guide took us on his boat to four different destinations. First, we started off at a cenote where we could admire the beautiful fish; next was an amazing coral reef! We just let the current carry us through and ended up amongst a set of underwater sculptures, which were alright. The star of the show were though the sea turtles. We swam along a seagrass bed and there they were!!! In total we encountered seven, although our guide acknowledged that this was exceptionally many. We ended the snorkeling trip at a underwater shipwreck where we could yet again admire the beautiful fishes. In addition to the fee for the activity you will be asked to pay 15 USD at the dock for a dock fee (go figure) and at the end you have an option to purchase the pictures and videos taken during the dives. All in all though the is activity is worth every penny and I highly recommend it.

        Exceeded my Expectations
I had a really great time on this excursion. It exceeded my expectations. Seeing the turtles and the shipwreck with all the fish was amazing. Our tour guide Pele was fantastic. You should be comfortable swimming in the ocean and snorkeling.

This is a must do activity for anyone traveling to Cancun! I am a NON SWIMMER!!!! And I had a blast! It was my group of 4, Sergio, Charley, and Robert on the boat. I learned how to snorkel in 10 minutes. You do NOT need to know how to swim! The staff members will help you if you need assistance but after a few minutes you should be comfortable to be alone. I went one week post hurricane Delta so the water wasn’t as clear as everyone had hoped but they made sure that we spotted every single thing in the water. A huge thunderstorm broke out during the last exhibit (literally felt like the Titanic) and immediately Sergio, Charley, and Robert made sure we were back on that boat and safe in no time. We had to cut our snorkeling tour short due to the weather but we still had so much fun! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (Also went parasailing through this company will review that separately!) thank you Total Snorkel you made my (Raven’s 25th Birthday) so special!

We arrived at Total Snorkel through a shuttle service from our hotel. Once we arrived we stood in line to purchase a $10 dock ticket (per person). The check-in process was easy. After we were greeted by Rafael who explained what we needed to do and fit us for a mask, snorkel and fins. Once on the boat we went out to two reefs and a shipwreck sight.

Rafael, Arturo and Eddy were amazing!! We had a fabulous day. Thanks Total Snorkel!

Caption juan and your guide Robert plus our camera man were all very awesome! Clear and warm waters, lots of fish that get right into your face, Robert is a conversation carried so no awkwardness.

I just wish the photos weren’t so expensive.... there were like 3 or 4 photos I wanted but it was going to cost me $35 for them to just email them to me... no edit or frame or anything

If you save the photos it would be cool if I can have like 3 of them for like $5 USD lol I was there 10/23/2020

We had a wonderful snorkeling tour with Total Snorkel Cancun. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the small boats, since I’ve only done snorkeling tours with bigger groups on larger boats, but this was an awesome experience that I highly recommend. George (our snorkeling leader/guide) and Eduardo (the captain) were great, especially when a couple of us got tired and needed a little help. We did 4 stops for snorkeling - 2 beautiful coral reefs with tons of fish and a couple sea turtles (George was great about making sure we all saw the sea turtles), a shipwrecked boat (much more awesome than it sounds), and a sink hole (not as awesome). The equipment was good quality and they made sure that everything worked before heading out on the boat. It was nice to have a small group rather than some of the bigger boats we saw with 20 or more people all swimming together in a large group. George really took great care of us, especially in one spot where the currents were a bit more rough. A fun adventure I highly recommend.

So, let me start this with the fact we didn't end up going, but wanted to share our experience with the company. We had booked our tour which was snorkeling at the Reef and shipwreck and we also had booked another tour for parasailing. This was all though the Go City Pass and we were really looking forward to it. They emailed around 930am on the first day of and said it was canceled. We said okay and moved it to another day. That day came and they sent an email around 1145am (our pick up time was 1220pm) and said it was cancelled. This time we were not too thrilled. We called them and asked about it, they said their port was closed for the day. So we scheduled again to go and they said they would not provide transport for the early morning one which is what we were wanting to do, so we would of had to find transportation, but we went ahead and booked it. We ended up canceling it because we couldn't find cheap transport from the Ocean Maya Royale. Transport would have been $60 USD or more for one way. But this is one we would have loved going on, but we couldn't. We heard about others going out and snorkeling with this company on those days that we were supposed to do the same thing. It was a disappointment. The sad thing is that the other couple from America used the GoCity pass and there is only one place for parasailing and snorkeling and they said they were able to do it. It makes us believe they didn't have enough people or didn't want to make the drive out to Playa De Carmen. Now that may not be the case, but we were also watching the flags all day and it should have been okay. But we also don't know, this was our guess. We were just super disappointed in the end.

This was our experience, it may not have been yours and it may not be yours either if you go.

Hi Megan, Thank you for sharing your comments with us. It's unfortunate to read that you couldn't enjoy your activities and we are sorry to know that you felt disappointed. Unfortunately, we can't control the weather and are subject to the port captaincy's decision on wether we can operate safely or not. Sometimes this notifications come at last minute and we don't have enough time to reschedule transportation. Also, due to our operation we only have transportation from Playa del Carmen available for our 2:30pm schedule. Thank you again for taking the time to write this review. We are sorry that you couldn't experience the tour and hope you give us another chance on your next vacation. Regards.

We were very pleased with Raphael and his crew. The tour we took combined 4 experiences: coral reef, sub aquatic museum, turtles, and the shipwreck. Raphael was a great guide and all the crew made a good effort for us to have a good time, specially looking for the turtles and the whole snorkeling experience.

Enjoyed the three stop snorkeling tour. Attentive staff, especially friendly guide Monica. Saw lots of fish and coral, a sunken ship and searched for the turtle but he/she remained elusive. However, Monica offered to search another spot but others were tired so we went back to the dock. For a low cost basic snorkel trip it was more than satisfactory. Be prepared for a few additional items, you will be charged a dock fee of $10.00 and to use a nice quality snorkel, you will buy one for an additional $10. The one provided is cheap and basic. The nice one makes a fine and useful souvenir. One staff takes lots of pictures of the underwater adventure but overprice them in the end so few, if any buy them. Why pay $35.00 for multiple digital images or $60. which includes videos. If they lowered the price and allowed to select say 5-10 I would have paid $15-$20.

I've snorkeled various times around North America and this was a pretty good experience. We saw a few sea turtles and a whole lot of fish. The coral is not colorful and honestly isn't looking very healthy unfortunately.

We were picked up promptly from our hotel, and the port was about a 30 minute drive from the Hotel Zone. We had to pay a port fee of $10/person and were organized pretty quickly and send with Eduardo and George. I appreciated that we got a chance to test our equipment before getting on the boat. The boat is small and the ride is very choppy - be warned if you get motion sick! it was nice being in a small group of 8 because we saw larger snorkeling groups on catamarans and it looked chaotic. Eduardo was great about keeping an eye on us and helping those who were a little nervous in the water. We made 4 stops in total and the entire snorkeling trip took us 2-2.5 hours.

I had only two complaints: 1) The photos/videos taken by the crew during the snorkeling trip were not good quality at all. We had absolutely no incentive to spend money on them. I wish I had brought an underwater case for my phone or camera instead! 2) Our snorkel group was not the same as the group that arrived in our shuttle, so we ended up having to wait about 20-30 minutes after we finished snorkeling for the other people from our shuttle.

Hello Cat, We really appreciate your review. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the tour and had a good time snorkeling. Our smaller groups allow for a more personalized attention and a better experience. We use top notch equipment to take your photos and videos. However, there are little particles and air bubbles on the water that can make the image less neat. We will pass your comments to our photo crew for them to look into it further. Also, not all the people book the same tour, so it sometimes happen that you have to wait a little before you can return to your hotel. Once again, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour. Thank you for your comments and feedback. We will take them into account as they help us becomme better and improve our service. Kind regards.

So many fish! The water is perfect! We had some visibility issues on our day but that’s to be expected, it’s the ocean! Our staff was awesome, Robert, Capt. Really and George. They did a really good job of making everyone feel comfortable and spent extra time with a lady that had some fears. She was able to snorkel on her own in no time.

Me and my friend went on this trip and it exceeded our expectations. The shuttle picks up right at your hotel which was very convenient. When we got there, our guide Moses did a test snorkel with us to make sure we knew how to use our equipment (they provide all the equipment including mask, breathing tube, flippers, and life jacket). Once our group was ready, our captain Juan boated out to 4 different areas (fish area, sea turtle area, sunken shipwreck area, and cenote area). My friend is not a strong swimmer but with the direction of our guide Moses she was able to swim in the sea and have a great time. Paparazzi (photographer) Manuel does an amazing job with photos and videos. The water was really salty but they provided us with water bottles while on the boat. I would recommend going here with this crew again, specifically with Moses as he did such a nice job guiding the group and making sure we got the full experience.
