Travelers with a sweet tooth will be happy with local ice cream, plus a visit to a candy shop.

  • Get a behind the scenes look at taco preparation
  • Enjoy the personalized experience of a small group
  • Take home a branded shopping bag and tour photos
What to expect
  • Start your street food tour at a central location and discover what makes Puerto Vallarta a top destination for lovers of Mexican cuisine. Sink your teeth into beef birria, a traditional breakfast dish and tasty Jalisco specialty made from one family’s secret recipe. Carnitas (braised pork) and tacos dorado (deep-fried tacos) are next on the menu, followed by a behind-the-scenes look at a local treasure where you’ll find fresh-baked breads and sample hot-off-the-grill corn tortillas. Browse produce stalls at the market and learn about a plethora of chiles before crunching into a ceviche tostada and fish taco. Hop between taco stands for a taste of a seafood chile relleno taco and a shrimp brochette. Top it off with a tender pork quesadilla and be sure to save room for dessert — Michoacán-style sorbet or ice cream — before ending your walking tour at a candy shop.

A MUST for street tacos!
Oct 2021
Terrific street taco experience! Our family took this tour on our first day in PV and it was great! Manny was outstanding - very knowledgeable, helpful, and fun! Later in our trip, we went back to several of the locations Manny showed us because they were THAT good -- and, the really fun part was seeing Manny as he was giving other tours! At one of the locations, we were struggling a bit with the language as we tried to order our quesadillas and Manny came up with his current tour and helped us with our order too! (Thanks again, Manny!) You can't go wrong with Vallarta Eats!

Yum is the Word of the Day
Oct 2021
Wow! They said to come hungry and they were right. Amazing tasting of every kind of taco in Vallarta (I did not know there were so many varieties). Eric, the owner of Vallarta Eats, met us and told us more about the tour, and then he introduced us to our guide, Roman. Roman was very personable and very knowledgeable of the Vallarta food scene. It was really pleasant to be escorted to the various hand-picked taquerias, as well as a tortilla factory, an ice cream store and a candy shop (where we bought a ton of souvenirs). We were so full that we opted to skip the last of the taquerias, so come hungry is not just empty advice. This is a must-do tour whenever in Puerto Vallarta.

Taste bud explosion of amazingness!!!! & super fun

Wow! We did this tour at the start of our vacation, and we're so glad we did because it set the tone for the whole week. This tour is amazing in so many ways - local businesses that have been passed down, family generations that we would never have stumbled upon. I still dream of some of the food we had!! Silvia was incredible - she has set the bar so high for any future travel guides, because she's the best!! Love this whole experience so much. Definitely a MUST on the trip!

Delicious street food!
Sep 2021
This tour was recommended to us by my sister in law & she could not have sent us on a better tour. Eric the owner was so helpful and accommodating in every step. Due to Covid & the hurricane 2 weeks prior, we had the tour to ourselves. Manny was our tour guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and so friendly. We went to 4 different taco vendors and had to cut it short because we were both so full. LOL We hit the ice cream shop and candy shop just before ending the tour. We got to make tortillas as well as visiting the local butcher shop and produce stand. We had such a great time & would totally recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you Eric & Manny for a great taco tour!!!

Buffet of Tacos
Aug 2021 • Couples
Food was delicious. I felt like this is how tacos should really taste like. Roman was energetic and very informative. Reviews said to do this tour when u first arrive and I agree. U can go back and visit the taco stands you like again.
My tip is to go very hungry. It is like a buffet of tacos.

Definitely worth it!
Jun 2021
I consider myself an adventurous foodie. So naturally, I was on the fence about paying for something I could have done on my own. Could I have yelped every taco stand and did my own? Of course. But I would have had to read through hundreds of snarky posts to get a bunch of opinions. Ultimately we ended up doing this tour and it was AMAZING! I got to make my own review of each place visited while learning lots more about the area than I ever anticipated.

With the tour we had gotten some first hand knowledge from locals about how each stand prepared their tacos, when they were available (some are morning stands and some evening), what made them special, a little about families and lives of those preparing our meals, etc. It was truly an intimate look into the neighborhood with an authentic dive into the local pulse, and brought me further out of where I may have adventured on my own.

Our tour guide, Paz, was awesome. She was super friendly and had lots of knowledge about each stand we visited. Overall we visited about 11 spots. Some were places where you could get agua frescas, dessert, baked goods, or fresh tortillas, etc. It was a comprehensive tour to ensure a variety of great treats during your stay.

One suggestion was to come hungry, which I did and normally food is no obstacle, but even toward the end i got a little full. But the food was so good, I insisted on trying everything... even the heart, liver, tripe taco at Birria Chanfay!

The great thing about the tour was that we got to sample places before venturing out on our own. We visited several of the stands more than once during our week long stay and if I were there for longer would have visited them ALL again.

I highly recommend this tour if you are considering it in the slightest.

Great Taco Tour!
Jun 2021
Second time doing this tour and was just as good as the first. We had 17 (ages 15-50's) of us and Paz & Manual led the way to make sure everyone had enough to eat and gave us some background to each place we visited. Everyone was so friendly and the tacos were excellent. Lots of stops and you will get full! (Pro Tip: Don't get a second taco at one of the stops or you risk not being able to eat at all the places, lol ). Can't wait to try another tour on our next trip to PV. Thanks!

Tacos Tacos Tacos and history!
What a fantastic topper to our amazing Mexico vacation. Roman was so knowledgeable and Eric (owner or manager) was so engaging and encouraging even when I was nervous about the weather. My only advice…take this adventure early in your trip. We were leaving the next day and was so sad because we finally got a glimpse to the daily lives of PV’ers…not the tourista spots we had been visiting. Do not hesitate to do this…will never forget Roman or the many kind vendors along the way! Loved Mimi and her darling team members whose names escape me! Be adventurous and book this!
