Great tour! Carlos was our guide, and he was awesome at giving the background for all the places he took us to. There was a lot to the tour, too - he explained both the ancient history of Mazatlan as well as being able to talk (as a native of Mazatlan) about the more recent history of the city, including the ongoing development there.

For those who are not normally very good at learning new physical skills and are nervous about the idea of riding a Segway, let me say, as someone who is usually very poor at that sort of thing, that it is easier than it seems. Just wear comfortable sneakers. Everyone in my party knew how to ride one from a different Segway tour, but Carlos made sure we knew how to ride it before we started out. He is a friendly and patient individual who I have no doubt would do the same for anyone of any skill level.

A minor word of warning, not about the tour itself, but about just getting there especially if you arrive by way of a cruise. If you decide to walk, you are advised to follow the blue line (a literal path through town) from the port to the start of the tour. That is true, mostly, but the blue line stops short of taking you all the way there. You will probably want to take a taxi there and back; save your energy for the tour. Bring your haggling skills to arrange your fare before you get in the taxi. As of this writing, we know that a ~$5 fare is not unreasonable. Carlos was kind enough to negotiate that fare for us for our return trip.

Carlos will be the first to tell you, there is no way he can cover the whole city in one tour. But it is a great place to start, and will almost certainly be far more of a tour than you were expecting. If you're on the fence about it, I'd say go ahead and do it. Thank me later.

There were 4 of us in our 50’s and 60’s; we’d never been on a sedge way before but Carlos and Adriane made sure that we were comfortable and proficient before heading on the tour. Carlos led and narrated, taking us through the older, original town, church, and then on a pavement that ran parallel to the beach stopping at highlights along the way. Adriane brought up the rear, watching over the stragglers and stopping traffic for us to safely cross. It was a hot day and we saw tourists struggling in the heat while we zipped along and enjoyed the cool breeze. The tour was fantastic, we could see that Carlos was passionate about his city and regaled us with stories of growing up there. Most importantly we were able to experience a sedge way ride while feeling safe and taken care of.

We had the best time with our guide, Carlos! Safety was always his top priority and ensuring you had fun was a close second. His knowledge and love of the area and his sense of humor made this an experience to remember. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about this great area of the city.

We took this tour during a cruise. Departure point was about a 25 min walk from the ship. There were 4 of us on the tour and all had ridden segways before. Carlos our guide ensured we were comfortable maneuvering the segways before staring the tour. We visited old town then finished with a ride the entire length of the malecon. Carlos provided great narration throughout the trip which lasted 3 hours. Great value for money and fun too. Highly recommend.

We had such a fun time on this excursion! Our tour guide, Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and attentive throughout our tour. He provided individual training on the Segway to each guest. We explored the streets of Old Mazatlan including Plaza Machado, the church of the Immaculate Conception, and several other historical sites. We ended with a long drive down the Mazatlan Board walk to check out the fish market and cliff divers.
Having lived in Mazatlan his whole life Carlos provided a lot of historical context during the tour. We really enjoyed getting to know him and experiencing Mazatlan on Segway. We were able to cover a lot of ground in a 2 1/2 period of time. Highly recommend this excursion!!!

Awesome, Amazing and first Class. Our guide Carlos was excellent in not only teaching us to be a Segway pro but his knowledge and passion for the city of Mazatlan shone through.
This was not some cheap tacky tour we went for 2 hours to places that I never thought I would go let alone on a Segway, 500 year old buildings throngs of people on the beachs and sidewalks and everyone was so polite and welcoming.

We were looking for something fun and affordable to do during our cruise stop in Mazatlan and I'm so glad we found the segway tour. Carlos the tour guy makes sure you are comfortable riding then sets off to show you around the older parts of downtown, stopping to give interesting facts and take pictures. Then you ride along the boardwalk which has amazing views. We were shocked how far you can ride on a segway! Carlos was great at communicating along the way and would constantly look back and check on us. My husband did take a stumble after hitting a bump (he didn't listen when he said to go around the thing in the road) but Carlos was right there to help. (Don't worry its not common to fall. We were the first ones to use his first aid kit this year to get a bandaid!) My husband was still very comfortable riding and we agreed it was our favorite thing we did on our trip. We would 100% go back again.

Tip: When you get off the cruise ship the first couple of taxis drivers will say $10-25 for a ride but if you keep walking a bit you will see a ton of drivers in white shirts that will take you for $5.

We LOVED Carlos! Carlos is a native of Mazatlan, and his love for his beautiful city shined through on this very fun tour. He shared many stories about Mazatlan in its glory days, how many colonial buildings have fallen into disrepair, and how there is a resurgence of people coming to restore Old Town to its former beauty. The tour was a great length and we saw a lot!

This is a belated review of an excellent Segway tour I took in February. The tour of Old Town was great, but the best part was the patience Carlos (Charlie) had in teaching me to ride a Segway. Being 72 years old I didn’t know if I could do it, but Carlos put my mind at ease and kept a close eye on me the whole way. Our entire group of 10 riders had a blast moving along the sidewalks in the Old Town, then along the beach front. What a fabulous way to see Mazatlan! I highly recommend this tour for all ages. You will love it.

I was stressed, but Carlos was more than gracious when we were 15+ minutes late for the tour (confusion caused by my non-existent Spanish and Google Maps playing it a bit fast and loose with directions). We had two 15 year old boys in our group so my worries about them not being able to manage the Segways (and manage their exuberance) was short lived as we were all given plenty of time to get familiar with the machines and practice before we set off under Carlos' watchful eye. He took us through Old Town and it was a delight to see all the revitalization going on to the area and to these beautiful old buildings. In addition, the Segway is a beautiful, responsive machine and if we had less than 6 months of snow in Canada, I'd think about getting one. My kids would say Carlos' Segway Tour was the highlight of our trip to Mazatlan and we frequently wished Carlos was our tour guide for the rest of our exploring days. His sense of humour and incredible knowledge of his home town was top notch. His pride in his city was infectious. Book this tour. You won't regret it.
