About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- theworldisonyrfeets0 contributionsNice island but a bad tourA very nice island but a bad tour. this company use a black mini van with black windows. So y have to open the windows to have an outside view. With open windows the airco may not be used so hot in tropical climate. The guide/driver was not inspiring at all. Everything was too much for him. He thinks that his guests can not understand his slang with the locals. Very unfriendly and not any stop in the fishermans villages. The guide at the Tet Paul Nature trail (community-run nature trail) and an organic farm was the opposite. Friendly and proud to show his guests everything about his island. Very nice views to the Petons! the view of the Pitons jabbing the skyline is stunning. It wasn't told by the tour agency that the entrance was an extra $10! But worth and a direct support to the community!. Advise: choose an other tour agentWritten January 6, 2020
- Amanda L0 contributionsGreat day on a private boat with Tropics Ventures! After much research we chose this excursion for our day in St Lucia and could not be more pleased with the decision. The company was very communicative via email leading up to our trip. Cruise ship docked at 9 and we met Chanel at 930. She picked up our group of 10 right outside the shopping area (meet up instructions provided - sign with our name on it so easy to find). Since the boat was ours for the day we picked where we wanted to go and when. The boat, which is locally owned, comfortably fit our group of 10 plus guide Chanel and Captain Francis. Chanel pointed out different things along the coastline for us and gave us some cultural history as we went. We took pictures with the Pitons in the back, stopped at the famous waterfall and then snorkeled before having lunch at a local place and cruising back. We were gone about 5 hours in total making the cost quite reasonable. You can add a stop at the mud baths but our group chose not to. Water, beer, soda and rum punch all provide for free. 😊 Recommendations - Take extra cash along - the docking fee for the waterfall was $25 plus taxi which was $5/pp plus waterfall fee of $3/pp. lunch buffet was around $17/pp. cash is needed for all - we paid in USD (change is given in local currency). We also tipped our guide and captain. If this is your first booking via Trip Advisor you can get 10% off. Great way to see St. Lucia!! Feel free to message with any questions.Written August 8, 2019
- GMCab0 contributionsA boat and captain for the day!We were beyond pleased with our experience. The company even helped arrange for a hotel pick up and delivery post excursion. We had great communication during the whole planning phase. The boat captain and his assistant were fabulous. They were so attentive and did everything within their power to assure we would have an awesome experience. Tbey will not disappoint!!!Written July 26, 2019
- Chelsea M0 contributionsAMAZING DAY!We had such an amazing day! We were a little hesitant to book at first due to the tour not having reviews yet but decided to go with it as the description sounded great and the price was reasonable for the 6 of us. We’re so glad we did! The day happened to be my husband’s birthday and Thompson contacted us beforehand to make sure they were aware of everything we wanted to see/do so they were prepared for us. Our tour guide, “Shorty” (which she said was her nickname and we could call her by), picked us up promptly on time. We made our way to our private boat and began our day. During the day, we sailed by the Pitons, visited the mud baths and then rinsed off in the waterfall just a few mins away. When we first got to Soufriere, where the mud baths are located, Shorty had already called ahead and had a taxi waiting for us. We then got back into our boat after the baths/waterfall and headed to the beach. We had about an hour to relax at Sugar Beach and then to Marigot Bay for lunch. Rum punches and beer were plentiful and we had a blast! Shorty and our boat captain gave us so much information and were a lot of fun to spend the day with! We were just in St.Lucia for the day on a cruise and from talking to others, we never would have been able to see everything we did had we booked a traditional tour that didn’t utilize the boat. We had no traffic to wait in and felt like we really experienced as much of St.Lucia as we could have in a day. Don’t hesitate to book this tour! It’ll be the highlight of your trip!! Thank you again!Written April 20, 2019

The guide came too late at cruiseport. The tour bus had black windows so no view unless you keep the windows open; too warm inside no airco. Everything was too much for the guide; no stops in villages. The walking tour Tet Paul Nature Trail 45 min easy walk was very interesting with nice views due to the perfect local guide of the community. My advise..don't go with this Tropics Venture but book direct to Tet Paul Nature society. We were all disappointed about this tour.

Richard was an excellent tour guide. It was just two of us so he offered to do whatever we wanted. We left it up to him and he showed us many of the sights and shared interesting information along the way! He was on time to pick us up at the ship and friendly and courteous on the ride out to the Pitons. Richard was an excellent tour guide!! Thanks again.

I would book this on the beach for a smaller group and better time. Booked through my hotel and went on Saturday and there were probably 100 people on my boat. You get to see a bit of the island, food is average and mud bath was rushed. Waterfall was very small and not much to see. It was just average for me honestly, but guides were nice and service was great.

We very much enjoyed the trip. The car was comfortable and we had plenty of room as two poeple also booked on failed to turn up. Dovon was delightful and happy to adapt the tour to suite our needs. We were able to enjoy dicovering the countryside and sights of the Island The views of The Pitons were unforgetable and the botanic gardens were another high spot for us.

We expected a well guided tour but what we got was a driver of a van that did not know much about the history or sites of St Lucia. The road was very windy and hilly and 2 passengers got motion sickness. DO NOT book if you are prone to car sickness or amusement ride type motion.

We were met by our driver and taken to our transport. There was just the two of us so we had plenty of room. We left Castries and headed up inland where we stopped for a chance to take a photo of the cruise ship down in the harbour below. It was then on to a Bay further along where Oprah Winfrey often visits, from here we drove inland and to a banana plantation where we stopped at a little stall on the side of the road, here there was a lady who offered us banana ketchup to taste and some local spiced rum amongst other local produce. Unfortunately we did feel pressured into buying something.
We then carried on towards the Pitons through the rain forest where the driver pointed out the various fruits growing along the road side, avocados, mangoes etc. There was then another stop to take photos of the Pitons before we drove to the drive in volcano. Here we had to buy tickets to visit the volcano, surprisingly they did not accept credit cards even though the driver thought they would. Luckily we were able to pay with Euros as we'd used most of the dollars we'd brought off the ship with us at the roadside by the banana plantation. We had our own guide who took us to the thermal springs and explained about what was happening. It was then back to our transport and a drive back along the same route as earlier to the ship.

Thanks for sharing we appreciate your feedback. We have an option where you can prepay entrance fees and lunch. However we also like to be flexibility so persons can select and pay entrance fees directly. We can also stop at the ATM in Soufriere town if extra cash is required. Thanks again for your feedback which helps develop and exceed expectations.

We had a party of four off Celebrity Reflection and booked this tour to see the volcano and Pitons up close.
Raphael made the day special starting by arriving early and we left 15 min before the tour was scheduled.
We stopped at several spots for photos and sampling some of the local rum, bananas and flavorings.
The drive was about an hour to the volcano. Very scenic through the rainforest. We had a beautiful day and we would highly recommend the tour and especially Raphael.

Hello. how difficult is any required walking ? i.e. length, terrain, hills, etc.
Tropics Ventures
Marigot Bay, St. Lucia
This tour is very easy. The walk from the minivan to each viewing point is a few steps. The Tet Paul Trail is moderate and requires up and down hill walking. This site is visited upon request.
We will be in St Lucia on March 6 at 12:30 on NCL Epic. We would like to do the 1pm tour. Is there any beach time, is so what beach would it be at.
Thank you,
Ellen
Tropics Ventures
Marigot Bay, St. Lucia
Hi Ellen,
It might be a bit tight to get beach time if you would like to visit the Pitons and the volcano. This can be decided on the day of the tour. We've had days when the ship came in earlier than 12:30.

Hi,
We (party of two) will be in St Lucia on the Norwegian Epic on 1/31 from 1 pm to 7 pm. Will we have enough time for this tour and be back to our ship on time?
Thank you!

Our guide and schedule were very flexible to accommodate our schedule preferences. A tour involving a boat ride from your ship to Soufriere will minimize much of the road traffic concerns.

Does this include a hike up Gros Piton or just a view of it?
Tropics Ventures
Marigot Bay, St. Lucia
This tour allows you to see the Pitons but not to climb the Pitons. We can arrange a tour to climb the Pitons.
The Piton hike is about 4 - 6 hrs and entrance fee is $50 us per persons.
Hi, we will take Princess cruise and arrive St. Lucia on Dec 22, 2019, between 8am and 6pm. Can you accommodate 3 people for this tour? And any charge (admissions) to expect? Thanks.
