A Thrilling Experience!
This was an amazing and memorable experience. The hike through the rainforest was spectacular, and we absolutely loved the thrilling water slides and cliff jumping! This is not an excursion for the weak of heart. I highly recommend hiking boots for the rainforest. It made all the difference in the world.
The kayak portion of the trip was intense in a different way. We are experienced kayakers, and this was a tough paddle. Upstream and against the current on the way out to the lake, then in the dark paddling back. Sadly, the bioluminescence was very disappointing. Barely able to see anything. But the kayaking was still worth it.
I might have given this a higher rating, but the communication from Bespoke was poor and left me question whether we would even get picked up. I had to call and ask when and where my pick up would be. The day prior to our trip I called the company and was told a location, but that they would have to call me back with a time. No one called me back. Later in the afternoon I tried calling multiple times only to get a voice message in Spanish that I was unable to understand, and I could not even leave a message.

Rain forest was awesome, the Bio Bay, definitely NOT
Jun 2021 • Friends
The ONLY reason I didn’t give it a 5 is the Bio Bay portion!!! It was completely disappointing!!! What you see on the internet is NOTHING like what we saw! Was also disappointed that they hurried us back before it even got dark enough. They had us pull a tarp over all the kayaks and I could pour glitter in a bathtub and had more sparkle to see!!! The fireflies in the way back were more exciting. ALL is saw through the “glass bottom” boat was murky water. Boo!!!!
That being said, Felix and Big Joe for the forest hike were the best! They called us “family” and we felt like it!!! The natural water slides, cliff jumping and rope swing were AWESOME!!!

Day trip
We enjoyed this trip, we understand weather and natural phenomena are things you can’t control. All things considered it was a great experience though! Our rainforest portion was canceled due to flooding which was unfortunate but not the fault of the guides! We really enjoyed the communication on pickups and the kayaking portion was a lot of fun! Beautiful sunset and the bio bay was a neat experience. We would recommend this and do it again!

An absolutely incredible experience! Jonatan, our guide, was super personable and full of energy! The hike is definitely difficult, but 100% worth it. Make sure to wear appropriate clothes and be prepared to get wet and muddy! Would recommend to anybody looking to explore el yunque in an active and non conventional way!

Rainforest and Kayaking Combo
May 2021
One of the highlights to our trip to Puerto Rico! Felix and Christian were fantastic. Hiking in the rainforest and doing the natural waterslides and cliff jumps was very exciting. We didn't want to rent a car in PR, so it was nice to have a tour take care of all the transportation between sites. The kayaking tour was great - make sure to bring bug spray though, there are tons of mosquitoes. The bioluminescence was cool. Just don't expect the entire bay to be lit up, and don't bother trying to capture it on camera.

Would have rather just hiked.

If I had to do it over again, I’d just do the hike part and drop the kayak tour (I reviewed the individual experiences in more detail).
You end up with a fair amount of “dead” time when you combine these experiences and the bio bay tour wasn’t great (in my opinion). I think we would have been better served just doing the Off the Beaten Path tour.
That being said, everything was well run and the tour management company was prompt, etc.
I just didn’t think with the amount of transit, waiting until evening, etc. the two tours combined as seamlessly as one would hope. Still a fun overall experience, just not mind blowing or anything like that.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry the bio bay portion did not met your expectations. Even thou we have a structured schedule that on a regular day should not have too much of "dead time" sometimes there are slight changes. We are very happy to know you are satisfied with our service and Rainforest experience!

Julian is the best tour guide the world has ever seen. If you can’t get a tour with Julian I wouldn’t even bother going to Puerto Rico. Love from Australia (:
