Just got back from Bonaire on a 10 day buddy dive trip. Last time I visited was 8 years ago and stumbled upon VIP Diving after reading great reviews on Trip Advisor. The owner, Bas, introduced us at the time to a brand new young diving instructor named Jonathan Oosterhof who was going to be our guide for the week, we were his first clients. We had an absolute blast with him during that week as he made us discover this wonderful island and we had made a new friend.
This last trip was 2 years in the making (COVID restrictions) with 2 other dive buddies as we were celebrating turning 50 years old in 2020. We had to connect with our old friend Jonathan and were happy to see he was still on the island and recently came back from working other jobs to rejoin VIP as operations manager, and 8 years later he still remembered us and was nice enough to join us once again for some guided dives and give these old guys the VIP treatment. It was amazing to see the evolution of the VIP team and shop, I remembered them from their old location and now have a fully dedicated building with pool, classrooms, full dive store, compressors….but more important the excellent VIP service and culture that Bas implemented is still very present with this highly committed team. The dives we did with Jonathan were again amazing as we went off the beaten path and discovered new areas we had never seen before. Please note we consider ourselves experienced recreational divers, with over 25 years of diving and well over 800 dives, and could have very well dove alone, but there is nothing like having a guide with local knowledge to show you the best the island has to offer, and please divers, make yourself a favor and take the Lionfish hunting course! So much fun, literally laughing out loud under water, plus you help out the environment by controlling this pest and have them for dinner that same night, the perfect ending to a perfect diving day!
Thanks again VIP Diving team (special hi to Petra) and Jonathan for another memorable trip, we will make sure to return sooner and not wait another 8 years!

This was our fourth time to Bonaire, and our second time renting tanks from VIP Diving. This trip added another challenge for me, as the rental car agency was charging an extra $250 for sand in the vehicle. Because of the wash tanks and hoses available at VIP Diving I was able to easily accomplish this task.  While rinsing gear I was able to spray out my rental truck saving me $250.00. Â
VIP Diving offers a wonderful place to keep our gear while on the island.  There are rinse tanks to quickly wash our gear and put away to dry over night.  There is a drive up service to switch out tanks, and the staff are amazing.  We came in this trip with a couple of issues because of forgotten pieces of equipment, but because of old gear being kept for save a dive gear in bags, VIP was able to help and we were able to dive without renting extra. Â
I live in a cold climate, it's so nice to be able to clean our gear prior to coming home since I don't have to much space to do so at our house.  This time I was able to not only able to rinse or gear but to actually throughly clean our gear prior to going home.Â
Overall I've rented from VIP Divers twice, and it has been worth it both times!  Thank you for running an efficient operation

Fourth time to dive Bonaire and fourth time to buy from VIP. No need to attempt finding something better than perfect, which is always our experience with VIP. Not only are all of the employees there knowledgable and friendly, they have replacement parts at very reasonable prices. My inflator valve started leaking beyond repair and Jonathon installed a new valve for less than I would be charged in the States. I highly recommend VIP!!

No offense to Buddy Dive, but this is the best dive shop on Bonaire. The service is excellent, the facilities are calm, clean, and efficient. It is centrally located and the staff are amazing: professional, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. We have used them for two trips and super consistent. We have also used them for dive guides, both for boat trips to Bonaire and night dives and the guides they have are awesome. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and know how to find the right stuff underwater!
We have used Buddy Dive on a previous trip and while Buddy Dive is fine, VIP is a world of difference and much, much better.

After three years we could finally came back and experienced the same wonderful, personal, helpful & fun service and fantastic, gorgeous shore diving as last time!
We booked two guided dives to get back into it and had a great time with Chris. The following days we went off on our own, but always checking in at the shop letting them know where we were going or getting great tips from Jonathan. Masha Danki to all of you! We hope to come back sooner this time!

Going to Bonaire on a vacation and was diving by myself , first time shore diving. My Hotel recommended this dive shop. To many good things to say ! First, communication was prompt and precise when scheduling what I was doing before I even went down to Bonaire. When I arrived, super friendly and professional dive staff. Nice facilities and very clean. Staff was super accommodating to my needs. Equipment - set me up wit good , up to date equipment. All of my stuff was very nice (shorty, bcd, regs, etc.& tanks + drive thru ) I had a guide for my dives (since first time) and every day went some place new. The guides were friendly, no pressure and went at every ones pace. I personally cannot say enough about this place. If I were to go back I would certainly connect with them again. There location also puts you closer to the south diving side of the island. not far from pier side dive sites. They also have a great learning center for advanced training.

We went with Dive Friends for our tank refills. We primarily talked with Jonathan, who was kind and went above and beyond to explain his favorite sites, hidden wonders of the island, which sites had the "conditions of the day" (he tipped us off to a low-wind day in the south, and we ran right to it and experienced BEAUTIFUL conditions).
He also directed us to the "local seahorse" at the Sebastian's dive.
We just loved them as an outfit and Jonathan as a resource.

This was our second time diving with VIP. They are truly a top notch, full service operation. The staff at VIP care deeply about safety and following PADI standards. The shop as always is meticulously clean and organized and they adhere to strict COVID protocols to keep people safe. We also loved their on site gear storage room (open 24/7) for guests along with access to wash bins.
We did a few guided dives to get started but then dove the rest of the week on our own. Kevin was super helpful when my inflator hose started leaking. Pascal also helped us out when my husband needed a new mouth piece for his regulator. Bas was also incredibly welcoming and answered all of our many, many questions with a smile.
Given their eye to details, we are now considering doing our instructor training with them in the near future.
Highly recommend diving with VIP!

My wife and I are very happy we worked with VIP Diving while on vacation in Bonaire. Our Nitrox package was paired with our resort and provided by VIP and it was super convenient. We had tanks and an analyser available at the resort as well as at the dive shop as a drive through service. So easy and provided more time for us to enjoy the beautiful island.
We also utilized a few dive guides during our time there and everyone was just great. Patient, knowledgeable, and low key; traits we very much enjoy in someone tasked with showing us a good time. Thank you all so very much.

We received a week of unlimited air fills with VIP dive as a part of our hotel package. It ended up being a great solution for us with our hotel only a few blocks away. VIP diving also had a great gear room where we could leave our stuff when we weren't diving. The staff was pleasant and helpful, freely sharing advice on their favorite dive sites. Two things that could have been better: 1. the gear clean out area got kind of gross. The water in the dunk tanks was really dirty and a bit smelly and definitely didn't make me happy about "cleaning" my gear in there. 2. I noticed some other operators had multiple locations around the island, which could have been helpful - we just took enough tanks to last us the whole day, so it wasnt a big deal having to come back to the one spot to swap them out.

Thank you for your great review and kind words. We really appreciate you taking the time for this. We also welcome the 'improvement points'. We do our utmost best to keep the rinse tanks clean and clear. It's possible that during your stay groups rinsed their gear after hours and made the tanks a bit muddy. I apologize for that.....it's one of those things that are beyond our control. I'll make sure we pay extra attention to the tanks at the end of the day. The multiple locations is a conscious business decision. I feel strongly that it's not possible to deliver the high level of service that we do spread over multiple locations. We chose to do it right in one location instead of 'almost right' in multiple locations. I'm glad you experienced that our centrally located shop in combination with the fact that you can take multiple tanks at a time and the 24/7 accessible tank exchange and gear storage room makes it easy.
