Overview

Alaska’s Denali National Park is magnificent no matter which way you see it—by foot, car, or water—but it is especially impressive from the air. Soar above glaciers and snow-capped mountain peaks as you fly around all sides of Denali (formerly known as Mount McKinley). Explore the east and south faces including Ruth Glacier, Sheldon Amphitheater, and the Great Gorge. Upgrade to a glacier landing for a walk on this frozen landscape.

What to Expect

Your tour of Denali starts with check-in at Talkeetna State Airport 30 minutes before your flight. Meet the flight crew and board a private plane that seats a maximum of six passengers.

From above the icy landscape, see icy blue melt water pools, glaciers, and natural landmarks such as the rivers of Talkeetna, Cash Creek, the Tokosha Mountains, Broken Tooth, Moose’s Tooth, and Mount Dickey. You fly around the entire mountain and explore the south and east faces in detail for one hour.

For the ultimate nature experience, upgrade to a landing (1.5 hours) where you set foot on a glacier.

The tour ends where it began, at Talkeetna State Airport.

A MUST DO!!!

I hate when people hype things up, but this was easily one of the coolest things I've ever done!Full Disclosure: It's expensive, and highly weather dependent. We weren't able to fly due to weather the first day, came back the next day, and it was...More

It was an amazing experience!

I am not a big fan of flying. My fear of heights and motion sickness are the biggest factors. My wife and I were doing a Princess Cruise and she really wanted to see Denali up close and personal. We went out to the airport...More

I paid $220 for one hour plus tax minus a $25 coupon with K2 aviation. That tour with landing was $310 plus tax I believe. Price depends on length of trip with or without landing for each. I don’t know about group rates.

Our flight was also very smooth. Four of us, and nobody felt anything but excitement. Of course, the weather was nice so I can't speak to flying in questionable weather.
