See the best places the highlights in Kyoto for half a day.
I was the only one during this tour. Kay, the tour guide asked me what places I want to see. I told her to take me to the highlights of Kyoto. It was a customized tour therefore, I got to see the best places in Kyoto such as Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kiyomizu Temple, Ishibekoji and Yasaka Shrein. We did most of them in walking and took a bus and a train for a short time. Kay was very nice, polite and knowledgeable of the places mentioned above. She also took my pictures which is very helpful and important to me. Thank you Kay!

I really recommend this tour in Tokyo
We really enjoyed our tour with Masa ( Masatoshi Fujii). We saw many places that would have been difficult for us to see in a short period of time navigating the subway system. He was able to educate us about the culture and the places we visited, as well as photograph us , which was better than selfies!

Tour of the Imperial Palace and Sensoji Temple, Tokyo
Our guide, Masa, was very kind, informative and enjoyable. We went to two spots in Tokyo - the Imperial Palace and the Sensoji Temple, both were beautiful in very different ways. Lots of walking but so glad we took this tour.

    ♥️Kyoto
Belle was out tour guide. She was wonderful. She helped us navigate Kyoto’s back streets and non- touristy areas. She had visuals to further explain the temples. She was also very patient and offered to be our photographer. I would highly book her again.

My tour was very welled plan, and I couldn’t have asked for more!! I’d definitely travel again with Yama as my guide!

    Yuka was fantastic!
Our guide, Yuka, was fantastic. She was energetic, excited to be showing us around Kyoto and described options to us to let us choose our sites for the day. Ask for her-you will not regret it! Tip-get yen and buy a bus and train pass ahead of time for the day as transportation and attractions only take cash.

Highly meaningful experience for our family
We were fortunate to have our walking tour led by Yoshiko Horimasu, a kind and knowledgable longtime resident of Hiroshima. Yoshiko took us to the Hiroshima Castle and provided excellent historical background on that site. She then led us to Peace Memorial Park and described the events of August 6, 1945. Yoshiko even shared her family's tragic story to help us understand how individual families were affected by the atomic bomb. It made our visit to Hiroshima extremely meaningful and memorable. We are very grateful to her for the very moving experience she provided our family.

Fantastic First Visit to Kyoto, thanks to Yoshi
We were so fortunate and lucky to land an afternoon being shown around Kyoto with the incredible Yoshi Tanizawa. He is an absolute treasure in this beautiful and dynamic city, and an invaluable resource for anyone interested in seeing what Kyoto has to offer. He knew his history, culture, and ways of Japanese life then and now, and with enthusiasm, kindness, gentleness, politeness, and wisdom, he conveyed so much knowledge to us that was enriching, engaging and fascinating. We learned so much, and his English is amazing. He really enhanced our experience and our first time visiting Kyoto, I’m afraid the rest of our trip won’t compare without him. Can’t recommend him enough. An ocean between us, but friends forever, Yoshi! Thanks for being our new favorite friend in Kyoto and the best tour guide.

Would recommend the half day tour with Maya
We completed the 4-hour Osaka tour with Maya. She discussed our requirements beforehand to ensure that we covered the aspects of Osaka that we wanted to see. She was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed her company. We visited Osaka Castle, Sumiyoshi Taisha & Dotonbori. Thanks Maya - Jo & Jayne.

    Wonderful Experience - Highly Recommend!
We booked a 4 hour tour for our family of 4 (me, my husband, my 7 year old son and 9 year old daughter). Our guide was Andy and he was amazing! He contacted me right away after our booking and worked with me to get the perfect itinerary. He was very organized and a great communicator. He was also so very patient with my kids!! I highly recommend getting a guide while in Kyoto, it really adds to the overall experience and gives you great background and insider knowledge. I

    Incredible experience
I recommend to go to Hiroshima and hire a tour guide to get to know accurate facts about the history in this beautiful place. Our tour guide was Miyuki, and she speaks very fluent english, and knows everything you need to know and more. We had lots of fun with her and learnt a lot.

    Solo day in Kyoto
I had a great day with Masa. We visited some amazing venues, and he explained the significance of each one. He pointed out things that I would not have known on my own and also knew where to take good photos.

Our guide, Hiro Chikata, suggested an itinerary beforehand which we liked, also advising us it was subject to change as we might wish. Hiro was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our many questions. He also knew the transportation systems very well so we were able to maximize our coverage and time. After visiting the Tsukiji Outer Market we proceeded to the Imperial Palace where Hiro knew foreign ambassadors would be arriving by horse drawn carriage to present their credentials to the Emperor and we were able to witness the rare event which had only been announced the previous evening due to security protocols. We also went Asakusa to visit the Shrine and take in the view of the area from the top of the Asakusa Tourist Information Center. Hiro then took us to lunch at a wonderful small sushi restuarant after which we proceeded to Shibuya and the Meiji Jingu Shrine. We then walked down Omotesando Street and through a shopping mall there before parting ways. Hiro actually stayed longer than he was scheduled to and made sure we got back on the correct subway line before leaving us. We never would have experienced and learned about what we did had we done it on our own. We highly recommend Hiro if you want an excellent tour of Tokyo

Delighted to learn that you are satisfied with the Tokyo Full-Day Tour of JGA. You were very lucky to grab an opportunity to see the first horse-drawn credentials dedication ceremony this autumn held in the Imperial Palace. Since the Sushi Bar we went to has only 8 chairs, I have invited very limited guests only. It has well preserved the Edo nigiri tradition. HIRO

My 17 year old son, in Tokyo for two weeks of language school, joined me for a full day private tour with Eriko. Eriko was prompt, organized, approachable and friendly. We let her pick the itinerary and weren’t disappointed as we went from Buddhist shrine, to anime district, to Shinto shrine to a fabulous lunch in a hip shopping district. Eriko shared history with facts - while checking in to adjust her depth of details to our personal liking. Eriko was also willing to share a bit about her own life in Japan when we asked. This made for more interesting conversation about Japanese culture and history. Thank you Eriko and JGA for making our day tour in Tokyo awesome. I am looking forward to the next guides we plan to meet in Nara and Kyoto.

We booked our private full day tour for 0930 the day after we arrived to get an early overview of Tokyo and, as first timers to Japan, learn how to use the Tokyo subway and see some of the major sights early in our stay.
Andy was a great guide and wonderfully patient as we were pretty tired.

He was in touch as soon as we booked the tour before our arrival and met all our sightseeing requests, provided a detailed itinerary prior, met us at our hotel, took snaps during the tour and forwarded them a few hours later.

He gave us an excellent cultural overview and lots of tips to make our holiday ahead much easier in Japan.

It's a great tour, but if you're just after an early orientation on your first day in Tokyo to learn the ropes, we'd recommend taking the half day tour, or take the full day tour on your second day. But the full day tour was fantastic and we slept very well that night.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Unfortunately, the weather was not good, and it rained at the last minute, but I'm glad it didn't turn out to be too bad and we were able to enjoy the tour. Tokyo's subways don't have many escalators or elevators, making changing between subways a chore. sorry. I agree with your opinion because the tour the day after arriving in Japan is very tiring. I had guests who came to Japan early in the morning and then went on tours, which were very surprising. If you have a chance to come to Japan again, I hope you can enjoy the tour at your leisure two days after your arrival. Andy

We booked the full day tour on the second day in Tokyo to learn and see as much as possible about this fascinating City. Seky our guide met us at our hotel at 9am. Seky was excellent and brought us to many of the sites while explaining their history and cultural significance. The six hour tour was exactly what we’d hoped for and could not recommend this enough especially if you’re lucky enough to have Seky as your guide.

Seizo Kaminto and my husband corresponded in email many months ahead of time, till Seizo came up with a very well-planned itinerary taking trains and subways around Tokyo. We landed early at Haneda, he’s been early as well and introduced himself and gave us an overview of the day’s plans. Plans had to change slightly because our young son got very tired walking and we keep requesting to sip cold drinks in cafes due to the July summer heat. We did not anticipate it would be very, very hot. The trains and subways seem complicated for us to take on our own, we could not have figured out how to get around without his help. He was extremely helpful and he patiently explained to us the train stops and how it connects to the next train line. We were able to see the outside of the Imperial Palace, the historic Asakusa and the entrance to the Meiji Shrine… all while explaining Japan’s wonderful history and even extra (making it more fun and relevant to us!). It was important for us to see the Pokemon Cafe, the Anime District, and the Happy Pancake. Seizo gladly and patiently granted our wish despite, moved from store to store to find the specific toys my son was looking for. He is just excellent! We are very lucky to have Seizo as our guide.

It was my pleasure to guide you in Tokyo including Pokemon Cafe and Akihabara and I was very relieved that your son could buy the specific toys he was looking for. I wish you and your family the very best for the future. Best Regards Seizo Kamiuto

My guide Nobuo Kokure was extremely knowledgeable about all of the locations visited from Imperial Palace to Temples, Shrines, markets and shopping streets. His english was excellent and he had a wonderful and welcoming demeanour. I would thouroughly recommend this tour as it can be adapted to suit your own requirements. I have visited Japan many times before but it was amazing to go to places i hadn’t seen before. I have only ever used the Yamanote line which does a giant loop of the city and had never ventured into the Metro subways but with Nobuo’s help I now feel confident to use the Metro solo. Great tour!!

Hakura was simply the best tour guide we have encountered during our two-month Asia visit, which included Việt Nam and Cambodia. She speaks English like an American (she is married to one) and is extremely knowledgeable and well organized. She suggested a great one-day itinerary for us and guided my wife and me (two 70-something Chicagoans) expertly through the mysteries of Tokyo public transit. We loved every minute of her tour, especially a dining experience at a restaurant frequented by locals. We only wish we had scheduled more tour days with Haruka — she’s that good. Hiring Hakura was one of the best decisions of our trip.

We had an amazing two days with our flexible and knowledgeable guide Kazu Hakata. He had excellent communication before the trip and also organised a tea ceremony for us. He changed the itinerary around the typhoon so that we were indoors during the very rainy parts. Kazu could answer our many questions from life in modern Japan and the many historical aspects to this beautiful city. Highly recommend.

Thank you very much for your kind message. Even during typhoon day, we could manage to visit many places without disturbed much. We saw Shinto Marriage Ceremony at Meiji shrine, enjoyed retro area, and very calm Rikugi en park. We think we were very lucky. Hope you will return again to Japan and explore new charmes. Thank you. A wonderful day spent with an exceptional tour guide. I have been fortunate enough to have done a decent amount of travelling, but I have never had an experience like the one with Kazuo! 2 weeks in advance of the booking he started gathering information to create an itinerary with recommended stops and food! He answered all of our questions and ensured we were well prepared before we arrived. On the tour day he was excellent at navigating the crowds and ensuring our time was well spent - he also takes great pictures! Thank you for a wonderful day Kazuo! If you get him as your guide consider yourself very lucky 😊

Thank you very much for the good review of my guide service. Since you were so kind, respectful and considerate from the beginning of our correspondence, I could be enthusiastic about preparing your itinerary and guiding on the tour date. I was also surprised that you and your wife quickly mastered the use of chopsticks at a ramen restaurant. I appreciate you giving a word of prize as to my photo taking technique. You may enjoy exploring Japan not only in Tokyo but also in other major cities. Please have a wonderful day! Kazuo

We had a great day with our guide Kazuo. Kazuo was really well organised. He contacted us well in advance of our visit to Tokyo and came up with an interesting itinerary that took us to places we would not have visited under our own steam. We rode lots of trains which was helpful for getting to grips with the public transport system.
The weather was not great - it poured with rain all day - but Kazuo remained cheerful and professional. He answered our questions without bombarding us with loads of historical and cultural detail, allowing us to get our own feel for Japan.
Kazuo really went above and beyond in every way and I’d happily recommend him to anyone looking for an intelligent, thoughtful person to guide them for a day.

Hi, thank you so much for your good review of my guide service. I’m so glad to hear you are satisfied with the tour. Now I think God showed you what wonderful scenery of historical spots like Temple and Shire are under the rain in Tokyo. You may be lucky in another meaning :D. Since you and your husband were respectful but also inteligente, I enjoyed the tour with you by talking about many kinds of things we have not yet known each other. The time flys on six hours though, I’m sure to say that you have a more fantastic journey in the rest of your days in Japan. Please enjoy! Kazuo
