About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Librarian-go-gaga0 contributionsNatural charm and sereneDespite the volume of tourists, the village still maintains its charm. A very well maintained and organized World Heritage site. There are many private day trip options to go there from Nagoya, but we chose to take the earliest bus there and didn't return until later afternoon. This allowed us to walk through the village at our own pace and had some quiet moments to soak in the vibe away from the crowd.Written August 23, 2024
- ceciliaru0 contributionsGreat itinerarySumí was a great guide and kept us informed of everything going on. Itinerary was great, wonderful sites and scenery. Unfortunately it rained all day so be prepared if you go in July.Written July 16, 2024
- TravelsNTreasures0 contributionsThe Good, the Bad, the TruthWe caught a train and walked about 10 minutes to the meeting point (Shinagawa Office). We found a Lawson convenience store to grab snacks before the bus ride to Mt. Fuji. The bus was comfortable and more modern than other buses lined up for tours. However, there was no restroom onboard, so make sure you are prepared before boarding. There were two guides (one for English, one for Chinese). There wasn't much commentary on the way — which was okay. At the first stop, there were a lot of stairs to climb, so if you're not up for the physical challenge, you can enjoy the landscape that surrounds you. We could "see" Mt. Fuji from all the stops on the tour — if there were no clouds, which was NOT the case 80% of the time. We didn't get a full view until the end of the tour. Granted, no one can control the weather. I think the tour can be improved (read the previous reviews). The English commentary was lacking and made the Chinese commentary seem more informative. On the return, we were stuck in traffic with no open windows, and the A/C was not cool enough for the bus when at a standstill. The ride on the return was very uncomfortable. Visit the restroom before you leave the park in case there are delays. If I had to do this all over again, I would probably just take the train to Shin-Fuji station and take my chances.Written June 28, 2024
- Yamamotoron0 contributionsNot happyWe’ve always depended on Trip Advisor customer reviews before making reservations. Very disappointed that we weren’t advised when booking reservations to Mt Fuji bus one-day tour ( VIP Japan Tours) May 20, 2023 ( confirmation 1385354085) that meeting point for tour( Robert Indiana Love sculpture) is a distance by foot from Shinjuku station, the world’s busiest train station. If a specific exit ( EWSN) was noted, we would have made the meeting point on time. When we requested a refund or credit, it was denied with note that cancelations accepted up to 24 hrs before start of tour. We are looking to return to Japan and booking this tour but because of our experience with Trip Advisor via VIP Japan Tours, we are researching Booking.com and Expedia who both offer a secondary meeting point if initial point is missed or a full refund. We’re certain that first time visitors to Japan will appreciate any details and specifics in making their trip less stressful and more enjoyable. - JanaCapri0 contributionsGreat value for money - 3 Kamakura stops and Enoshima island sightsThis tour was the best value for money tour which I took in Japan. During the day we saw a lot! The tour was very well organized and our English speaking guide (lady) was very knowledgeable. On the way there there was an accident which delayed us by 1 hour and we spent a little bit less time on each place. Nevertheless we visited many places: 1) Tsuruoka Hachiman Shrine - shrine in little village with shopping 2 shopping streets, 2) Kamakura Hasedara Temple - which were about 4 - 5 temples with various size of Buddha and other religious statues (including hundreds of little gods). On top there were beautiful hydrangeas in this place. 3) Kamakura Buddha - big Buddha statue tall 11 meters which is 2nd biggest in Japan and last, but not least 4) Enoshima Island - with shopping streets and many stairs to view tower Enoshima Sea Candle (you can take also elevators on the way up for a fee). Except for nice view there were also beautiful flowers close to the tower. Overall very full and satisfying trip. I recommend.Written June 15, 2024

- h2htravel0 contributionsOne of the best castles in JapanThis castle was not an shore excursion option on out crusie. But we were able to find a local guide to pick us up in Kobe and take us to this Amazing castle. There is ecen a Lego model of this castle. We only spent about 3 hours there but easy you could spend the entire day. Sadly we ahd to get back to the ship and only go to see a small part of the gardens.Written May 14, 2024
- jakapetek0 contributionsWaste of moneyDo not choose this company. Terrible tour guide. All he cared about was that we come back in time. So we were back in Tokyo at 4:45 PM (plan was at 6PM). The weather conditions were not perfect and we were waiting to see Mt. Fuji for the whole day. It started to clear and Mt. Fuji started to show. The guide decided we need to hurry home and so we saw Mt. Fuji from the bus for 10 seconds instead of enjoying the view from the viewpoint. Guys it’s called Mt.Fuji tour for a reason. It is worth the wait!Written May 4, 2024
- 134nadjac0 contributionsWould not reccommend.Sadly, this tour was a day wasted in the worst way for us. The weather forecast was not perfect, mostly cloudy, and we went on the tour with that knowledge, yet even then we came back dissapointed and angry even. There was one moment in a whole day when mt Fuji was visible, but the tour guide insisted that we leave the last scenic spot 5 minutes before that "big clearing of clouds" that the whole group saw coming. I am adding the photo of the upcoming clearing. Many of us were even asking the guide if we could wait for a few more minutes to see it, but the guide was strict with sticking to the schedule. Well, 5 min later on the bus driving through the forrest, we saw a perfect glimpse of mt Fuji through the trees, peaking out in the middle of the sky. And we saw it for literally two seconds, as we were in the middle of the forrest. Of course we did not stop or turn around, even though the whole bus wanted to take the only chance to see what they paid for. The tour is called Scenic view of mt Fuji, after all. For the cherry on top, we returned one hour and 15min early. So yes, that 5 minutes would really put us off schedule, right? Not to mention that most of the time, our guide was just selling us strawberries. Barely any interesting and relevant information. So no additional value of the tour itself, with or without mt Fuji.Written May 2, 2024
- elliottl7400 contributionsBus Tour Kyoto--Nara--Kyoto then Osaka! The tour was very nice. I thought the tour guide was very nice and cool, the way he spoke English and Mandarin one after the other! The bus was also very comfy because I fell asleep twice 😴😴. We went to Nara Park and fed at least 38 deer 🦌! I thought the tour was very nice 🙂🙂🙂🙂.Written April 22, 2024

- SallyY4740 contributionsDo not pick this oneTerrible guide. The guide doesn’t really speak English but most of the group can only understand English. Didn’t understand what the guide was saying 90% of the time so didn’t really get proper information of the places visited.Written April 6, 2024

- heartinnature0 contributionsAn amazing day tour from TokyoWe were specially lucky because we had spectacular views of Mt Fuji from the time we got out of Yokohoma, till the time we turned back in the evening. We were fortunate to have George as our guide - a very caring and engaging individual. He gave us tips on options for meals, helped us book a Vegetarian Hato lunch since we hadn't reserved it when we made our booking, where to buy fruits and ice creams. He was well-versed in the geography and history of the places. Lake Kawagichi was very beautiful too. We liked it very much because it wasn't a rush-rush tour and we had ample time to explore the spots where we were dropped off.Written March 31, 2024
