          Iconic moment and Japanese treasures
Absolutely an amazing experience ‼️ my tour guide Riona-San was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and very friendly. She let me customize to my preferences as it was a private tour. Her scheduling was great and communication through text was easy. She even sent pictures where to meet. Very highly recommend the tour and my guide. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

          Not what we expected
We booked this guide to learn more about the Japanese perspective with respect to the war and the end with the A-bomb. The guide only led us through the museum and pointed out points of interest, but hardly any stories or backgroud. Besides this her level of English was not so good which made communication difficult (she didn't really understand our questions). We passed some other guides on the way and their level of English wasn't any better. We feel like the subjectmatter is very sensitive and deserves better handeling. As a person our guide was very nice and helpful, but could not provide what we were looking for.

The best guided tour we could have hoped for.
In a word our tour was EXCELLENT. Our guide Show was so knowledgeable not only about Tokyo, but also about the history of Japan and current cultural changes. His insight and openness in talking about these topics is what made the tour so amazing. Also, Show reached out to us via email well in advance of the tour to seek our interest which he used to plan the tour. If you are fortunate enough to have Show as your guide, you are in luck!

          Friendly, knowledgeable and fabulous
We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Nara with the fabulous guide Junichi. He catered the tour to our interests and topped the great day visiting historical temples and shrines with a sake tasting and a tour of local neighbourhood and old merchant house. Fascinating. Thank you so very much, Junichi.

          Kamakura half Day
Our half day out with guide Shinji kept us very busy. We used trains, subway and a bus; having a guide made this less daunting. He was engaging and knowledgeable, plenty of interesting sites visited. It did involve a lot of walking and stairs. Zen gardens very nice, big Buddha impressive. A good tour.

Miyu was very helpful and patient with us (because my father is elderly) got to go two sites Miyajima island and The Hiroshima Peace Park. She was very knowledgeable at both places and very nice, would highly recommend her as your next guide.

Brilliant tour of Kyoto and hidden gems
Amazing experience and our guide, Kazz, was fantastic and very organized. We did Gion, Emperial Palace and the hidden gem; the area of Konkaikomyoji on an elevated area with many beautiful temples and shrines as well as the area that was home to the Aizu clan of Samurai - and their burial grounds. The Aizu clan being the Samurai entrusted by the Shogun with protecting the Imperial Family. An amazing experience and highly recommended as is our guide Kazz

          A great day in Nikko
We had the most magnificent day with our guide, Michio, his experience navigating the rail systems in Tokyo city and out to Nikko on the Shinkansen evident right from the start. Michio was both personable and informative at every point of the day. A highlight for us was lunch in Nikko right beside Lake Chuzenji where handmade fresh soba noodles were made onsite and we chose to have them with local rainbow trout, grilled on hot coals. It was a meal we won't forget! Michio guided us seamlessly to the ropeway, waterfalls, stunning river walk and imperial summer villa at all times mindful of any special requests we had and our comfort. Back in Tokyo at the end of the day Michio even suggested somewhere for dinner, another authentic Japanese experience. We are looking forward to having Michio guide us later in our Japanese stay in Yokohama he is that good. Thank you Michio!

Nori is one of the most amazing guides I have ever met anywhere in the world.
Nori is an amazing guide. She was so accommodating with our requests. Honestly, I have traveled all across the world so many times. She has to be the kindest, most compassionate and patient guide that I have EVER met. She was so accommodating with our daughter (who was jet lagged and was making the tour difficult. I will never forget her and hopefully next time I visit Tokyo, I can see her again. Thank you!

Custom Kyoto tour led by a multilingual, government licensed guide.
Reo is friendly and very knowledgeable about Kyoto, its history, the shrines and cultural sites he took us to. He is multilingual and navigated the city easily. We would book a tour with him again if we are lucky enough to return soon!

For History Buffs, a place to never forget
Sei was a passionate tour guide, who did a wonderful job sharing the learnings and tragedy of Hiroshima. We took a day trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima and it was worth the trip, 1.5 hour bullet train ride. We spent 3 hours with Sei, who shared the Hiroshima peace park and the museum- he even arranged a private video detailing the bombing for us. Sei met us at the train station and escorted us back there after to make sure we were stress free. For history buffs, this is a nice day trip, and a nice break from traditional Japan. Thank you Sei.

The Best Way to see the Market
Our guide Kay did such a nice job explaining the Tsukiji market, while allowing us the freedom to experience the parts that of most interest to us. There’s alot more than meets the eye at this market and it’s helpful to have a guide make the experience informative and nice. If you go to the market, there is a third floor food court and seating area that we would have never found without Kay. It’s the perfect place to eat everything you buy!! Japan Guide Agency was a nice way to customize personal tours.

Our guide, Hiro Chikata, suggested an itinerary beforehand which we liked, also advising us it was subject to change as we might wish. Hiro was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our many questions. He also knew the transportation systems very well so we were able to maximize our coverage and time. After visiting the Tsukiji Outer Market we proceeded to the Imperial Palace where Hiro knew foreign ambassadors would be arriving by horse drawn carriage to present their credentials to the Emperor and we were able to witness the rare event which had only been announced the previous evening due to security protocols. We also went Asakusa to visit the Shrine and take in the view of the area from the top of the Asakusa Tourist Information Center. Hiro then took us to lunch at a wonderful small sushi restuarant after which we proceeded to Shibuya and the Meiji Jingu Shrine. We then walked down Omotesando Street and through a shopping mall there before parting ways. Hiro actually stayed longer than he was scheduled to and made sure we got back on the correct subway line before leaving us. We never would have experienced and learned about what we did had we done it on our own. We highly recommend Hiro if you want an excellent tour of Tokyo

Delighted to learn that you are satisfied with the Tokyo Full-Day Tour of JGA. You were very lucky to grab an opportunity to see the first horse-drawn credentials dedication ceremony this autumn held in the Imperial Palace. Since the Sushi Bar we went to has only 8 chairs, I have invited very limited guests only. It has well preserved the Edo nigiri tradition. HIRO

My 17 year old son, in Tokyo for two weeks of language school, joined me for a full day private tour with Eriko. Eriko was prompt, organized, approachable and friendly. We let her pick the itinerary and weren’t disappointed as we went from Buddhist shrine, to anime district, to Shinto shrine to a fabulous lunch in a hip shopping district. Eriko shared history with facts - while checking in to adjust her depth of details to our personal liking. Eriko was also willing to share a bit about her own life in Japan when we asked. This made for more interesting conversation about Japanese culture and history. Thank you Eriko and JGA for making our day tour in Tokyo awesome. I am looking forward to the next guides we plan to meet in Nara and Kyoto.

We booked our private full day tour for 0930 the day after we arrived to get an early overview of Tokyo and, as first timers to Japan, learn how to use the Tokyo subway and see some of the major sights early in our stay.
Andy was a great guide and wonderfully patient as we were pretty tired.

He was in touch as soon as we booked the tour before our arrival and met all our sightseeing requests, provided a detailed itinerary prior, met us at our hotel, took snaps during the tour and forwarded them a few hours later.

He gave us an excellent cultural overview and lots of tips to make our holiday ahead much easier in Japan.

It's a great tour, but if you're just after an early orientation on your first day in Tokyo to learn the ropes, we'd recommend taking the half day tour, or take the full day tour on your second day. But the full day tour was fantastic and we slept very well that night.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Unfortunately, the weather was not good, and it rained at the last minute, but I'm glad it didn't turn out to be too bad and we were able to enjoy the tour. Tokyo's subways don't have many escalators or elevators, making changing between subways a chore. sorry. I agree with your opinion because the tour the day after arriving in Japan is very tiring. I had guests who came to Japan early in the morning and then went on tours, which were very surprising. If you have a chance to come to Japan again, I hope you can enjoy the tour at your leisure two days after your arrival. Andy

We booked the full day tour on the second day in Tokyo to learn and see as much as possible about this fascinating City. Seky our guide met us at our hotel at 9am. Seky was excellent and brought us to many of the sites while explaining their history and cultural significance. The six hour tour was exactly what we’d hoped for and could not recommend this enough especially if you’re lucky enough to have Seky as your guide.

Seizo Kaminto and my husband corresponded in email many months ahead of time, till Seizo came up with a very well-planned itinerary taking trains and subways around Tokyo. We landed early at Haneda, he’s been early as well and introduced himself and gave us an overview of the day’s plans. Plans had to change slightly because our young son got very tired walking and we keep requesting to sip cold drinks in cafes due to the July summer heat. We did not anticipate it would be very, very hot. The trains and subways seem complicated for us to take on our own, we could not have figured out how to get around without his help. He was extremely helpful and he patiently explained to us the train stops and how it connects to the next train line. We were able to see the outside of the Imperial Palace, the historic Asakusa and the entrance to the Meiji Shrine… all while explaining Japan’s wonderful history and even extra (making it more fun and relevant to us!). It was important for us to see the Pokemon Cafe, the Anime District, and the Happy Pancake. Seizo gladly and patiently granted our wish despite, moved from store to store to find the specific toys my son was looking for. He is just excellent! We are very lucky to have Seizo as our guide.

Thank you very much for your valuable and favorable comments on my guiding. It was a great honor for me to have the opportunity to guide you in Tokyo. It was my pleasure to guide you in Tokyo including Pokemon Cafe and Akihabara and I was very relieved that your son could buy the specific toys he was looking for. I wish you and your family the very best for the future. Best Regards Seizo Kamiuto

My guide Nobuo Kokure was extremely knowledgeable about all of the locations visited from Imperial Palace to Temples, Shrines, markets and shopping streets. His english was excellent and he had a wonderful and welcoming demeanour. I would thouroughly recommend this tour as it can be adapted to suit your own requirements. I have visited Japan many times before but it was amazing to go to places i hadn’t seen before. I have only ever used the Yamanote line which does a giant loop of the city and had never ventured into the Metro subways but with Nobuo’s help I now feel confident to use the Metro solo. Great tour!!

I feel very humbled to receive such words of undeserved praise. I’m also happy to hear that you feel confident now to use the METRO(subway)after the tour. May be some day in the near future, we may be able to meet with each other at the subway ticket counter in Tokyo. I hope you can continue having a safe and pleasant trip in Japan. Thank you! Nobuo

Hakura was simply the best tour guide we have encountered during our two-month Asia visit, which included Việt Nam and Cambodia. She speaks English like an American (she is married to one) and is extremely knowledgeable and well organized. She suggested a great one-day itinerary for us and guided my wife and me (two 70-something Chicagoans) expertly through the mysteries of Tokyo public transit. We loved every minute of her tour, especially a dining experience at a restaurant frequented by locals. We only wish we had scheduled more tour days with Haruka — she’s that good. Hiring Hakura was one of the best decisions of our trip.

We were a family of four adults completing our tour of the region with a two day first time stopover in Tokyo. Booking a private tour with a licensed guide - Andy was the best thing we could have done to get a sense of the beauty and history of Tokyo. Andy had planned out our day to hit the highlights we wanted to see and he added a few of his favourites to our day that really made it very special, the lights on the trees at one of the gardens (sorry, I don't have the name, see picture). I highly recommend a guided tour when visiting Tokyo, and with so much to see, we will do another guided tour next time we are back.

Thank you for your very nice review. Yes, it was the best time to enjoy Autumn Leaves in Tokyo. We enjoyed them at the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, and Rikugien Park where we enjoyed the illuminated trees. It was a very warm and wonderful time to spend with your close family. Please come again in early April when the cherry blossom trees are beautiful. Andy

We had an amazing two days with our flexible and knowledgeable guide Kazu Hakata. He had excellent communication before the trip and also organised a tea ceremony for us. He changed the itinerary around the typhoon so that we were indoors during the very rainy parts. Kazu could answer our many questions from life in modern Japan and the many historical aspects to this beautiful city. Highly recommend.

Thank you very much for your kind message. Even during typhoon day, we could manage to visit many places without disturbed much. We saw Shinto Marriage Ceremony at Meiji shrine, enjoyed retro area, and very calm Rikugi en park. We think we were very lucky. Hope you will return again to Japan and explore new charmes. Thank you. KAZU

A wonderful day spent with an exceptional tour guide. I have been fortunate enough to have done a decent amount of travelling, but I have never had an experience like the one with Kazuo! 2 weeks in advance of the booking he started gathering information to create an itinerary with recommended stops and food! He answered all of our questions and ensured we were well prepared before we arrived. On the tour day he was excellent at navigating the crowds and ensuring our time was well spent - he also takes great pictures! Thank you for a wonderful day Kazuo! If you get him as your guide consider yourself very lucky 😊

Thank you very much for the good review of my guide service. Since you were so kind, respectful and considerate from the beginning of our correspondence, I could be enthusiastic about preparing your itinerary and guiding on the tour date. I was also surprised that you and your wife quickly mastered the use of chopsticks at a ramen restaurant. I appreciate you giving a word of prize as to my photo taking technique. You may enjoy exploring Japan not only in Tokyo but also in other major cities. Please have a wonderful day! Kazuo
