          Worth the Money!
Yaudiel Gonzales was our guide and he was the man. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area stopping to point out animals and nature that we would have never caught. He was also very friendly and positive vibes all around. It was only my fiancé and I which made it an intimate experience

          Fantastic tour
Our tour guide was Ariel and he did an amazing job. He was very knowledgable and found animals snakes and birds that we would’ve never seen. He patiently took the time while we took photographs. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning and a great way to finish off our time here in Puerto Viejo. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

          10/10!
A glorious afternoon kayaking adventure! Ariel picked us up from Puerto Viejo and took us through the less-visited countryside, about 40 minutes on beautiful rural roads, to his family home near the lagoon where the tour begins. On the short portage to the water, we got to pick our own cacao fruit for later. We pushed off into tranquil waters bordered by huge raffia palms and mangroves, teeming with wildlife: we saw caimans, all three species of monkeys, iguanas, basilisk lizards, herons, kingfishers, parrots and parakeets, and much more. Ariel is extremely knowledgeable not only about the animals but about the history and ecology of the area. We took a break at the breathtaking black sand beach, where Ariel foraged and prepared coconuts and treated us to mango, banana, sugarcane, and cacao. It was such a pleasure to experience this remote paradise with a guide so connected to the land. Cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

Our guide Ariel was so so good. He had ‘bionic eyes’ and literally spotted everything. We even saw one of the rarest and most beautiful Toucans on this side of Costa Rica. Without Ariel we would have seen nothing! Thank you so much

          Very much worth it!
Ariel was amazing had a lot of knowledge and was able spot so many animals while taking us through the park. A lot of the animals are hard to spot and he proved it was all worth having a guide if you want to make the most of seeing a lot of animals on the walk throughout!

Definitely recommend a guided tour to get the most out of a visit to the park
We were lucky and were the only two in the group. Ariel , our, guide was fantastic. We saw sloths, capuchin monkeys, fruit bats lizards and raccoons. We saw many other things as well but can’t remember the names. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. How spotted everything was amazing. I would highly recommend having a guide, especially Ariel,as we would never have spotted anything unless it jumped out in front of us.

Had an amazing night tour with Ariel. Saw a tarantula, vipers, sloths and many other animals. Ariel was super knowledgeable and was answering all the questions we fired at him. One of our highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. Would 100% recommend this tour!

          Great Experience
Great experience. Our guide was excellent and pointed out so many things that we would not have even noticed. We saw sloths, monkeys, alligators, snakes, spiders and more. Also went swimming at Playa Blanca which was gorgeous. Highly recommend taking a tour with Caribe Autentico.

          Magical mangrove tour!
Our knowledgeable guide grew up in the small village where the tour started. He knows the rainforest and mangroves like the back of his hand. We had the most wonderful time! In our break at a lonely beach we drank fresh coconut water and ate some sugarcane our guide cut for us. We saw spider monkey family including a mum with a little baby very close.

Perfect Kayak Tour with Monkeys and Mangroves
What a lovely experience!! It was a beautiful private tour with just our group. From the drive there to being surrounded by the mangroves, it's a unique ecosystem that few people get to see. Ariel was very knowledgeable having grown up there. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an off-the-beaten-path Costa Rican adventure.

One Night Stay with Bri Bri People
Ariel was my guide for a one night stay with the Bri Bri people. It was an interesting adventure. Ariel was a great guide. He organized everything from the transportation to lodging, including the canoe to the Bri Bri village. The accommodations are basic, but the village is worth a visit. At night Ariel took us on a night hike with our Bri Bri guide and we went looking for animals. It was fun! Bring your bug spray and a flash light. On the way back we wanted to hike instead of ride the canoe again, and Ariel guided us. My wife and I felt safe with him.

We were told to visit an Indian village. But when we got there it seems to be just a quick explanation how they make chocolate out of cacao. It even look like they come and do the "play" and leave to there own houses at night. A bit fake.No village what so ever. We paid 75 dollars including the jaguar rescue center en swim at a waterfall voor 15 minutes. We had a pickup at our hotel. But no lunch included,no drinks just a piece of pineapple. So my advice dont visit the BriBri. Not worth the money at all.

What a memorable day. Ariel was such a great guide and companion for this experience. Both he and the entire Bribri community that we met were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Ariel extensively taught us about this culture and all of the delicious and beautiful plants throughout the region (many of which we were able to pick and eat as we hiked!) - he is so knowledgable and was able to provide big-picture history and first-hand experiences as he grew up in a Bribri family. This was the most authentic Costa Rica experience we've had to date. Nothing artificial. We feel quite lucky and grateful to Ariel, Simon and the whole community for allowing us to join them for the day and teach us about their beautiful culture. Definitely recommend!

This tour was not only about chocolate, even thought it was the main part. We visited home of one of the Bribrí families living in the Bribrí teritory.
Our guide, being Bribrí himself, showed us the way of living, building houses and habits of the tribes. We have seen farms and plantations, herbs and their use.
We have been explained the whole process of making chocolate and we also tried to make our own - roast the beans, peal them, grind them and of course taste the final product either just raw, in a form of hot chocolate or mixed with spices. We finished the excursion with a lunch cooked by our guide on fire.
On our way back we could cool ourselves in a nice waterfall.
Overall it was the best tour i have taken in Costa Rica and very well just for the sake of peacefully spent day i would take it again.

Our guide Ariël brought us to his tribe in BriBri. He speaks the language and does alk translations very well. He showed us the beauty of the surroundings and explained about the culture of the native tribes. We were welcomed by the Awa very friendly. He told us al about his house and his work as Awa.
Later we met a nice family, they explained us a lot about the use of plants to make all sorts of utensils and how to use them to cook or like medicines. Very interactve and interesting. We really liked to help producing our own chocolate drinks, might try this even at home if I could buy the cocaobeans. Afterwards we had a beautiful walk to the waterfall. It had rained a lot, so we could not swim, that would be too dangerous. The river was wild! But we had a nice snack/lunch to end a beautifull excursion. Thanx Ariël, we loved it😀

This was an amazing unique experience that I’ve never had. I enjoyed learning how to make chocolate. I enjoyed being hands on making the chocolate and the lunch that was made for me was delicious! The Bri Bri people also made coffee for me and hot chocolate. This was the perfect tour for me being a solo traveler and my tour guide Ariel did great showing me everything and educating me along the way. It was helpful that transportation was included as well.

If you plan to visit Limón, please take this tour. There is really nothing like connecting with people and ecology that are rooted in ancient indigenous beliefs and values. This tour was especially enlightening learning how the Bri Bri people support their tribe and community and seek simple accomplishments that improve the quality of their life and land, rather than monetary things or excess, like in our mostly capitalist world. The family was warm and welcoming. Ariel the tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his native people and this land. He was very patient explaining and answering questions, and interactive with our group. He is a true Maestro! This was truly the most meaningful and memorable day of my trip.

Our experience was so authentic and true with the Bribri family! Their way of living was very inspiring, organic and hard work every day, they all look very happy and have a nice balance in their life. Good hearted, humble people. The meal we had there was the best we had in Costa Rica, and we ate out every night at amazing organic restaurants so that says a lot, they grew their own rice, bananas, and beans on the same land we ate the meal. We got fresh squeezed orange juice, everything tasted so fresh. Ariel the guide is a newer generation bribri but keeping all the traditions and customs alive, he was informative and kind, has a good sense of humor. We were thankful that our chocolate experience wasn’t a tourist attraction, but with a real family not a business. And old school ways of making the chocolate.

Very interesting and interactive tour. Learnt a lot about the Bribri Tribe, their culture and traditional practices. The guide taught us about all the plants they use for medicine, cooking and making clothes. We saw and participated in making a chocolate drink and had a traditional lunch which was filling and tasty. The swim in the waterfall was very welcome at the end and we were treated to pineapple and coconut milk afterwards, plus we were serenaded by the owner of the house!
The tour guide also drove us to and from the experience, picking us up right outside our hostel.
Only improvement could be a little bit of info at the beginning introducing himself as the guide, as initially we thought he was just the driver and that we were meeting others at the location for the tour. Turned out to be a private tour! Very good, what you'd expect for £70.

It was an authentic experience in a family home that was very welcoming and warm. They shared their experience with us even though we were basically intruding their day to day life. We learned how to do cacao paste and had a delicious hot chocolate as a reward for our efforts. We then had a amazing homemade lunch made with smoked pork. We ended the tour at this beautiful waterfall that was very refreshing. Yes, it is expensive, but worth it if you want a very authentic experience.
