The various aspects of Asakusa through a rickshaw ride.
We already used the Eibsuya Kyoto rickshaw service in December 2019. Discovering Asakusa through a rickshaw ride was among our to-do list whilst discovering Japan and we were not disappointed by our choice. We were guided by Tiga and he helped us to discover Asakusa through another lense. The ride was around the Senso-Ji Temple, the Matsuchiyama Shoden Temple, the Skytree tower and Kannonura old streets. It was an unforgettable experience and having used the rickshaw as the transport means symbolizes a link with our mother country where rickshaws are still very much used.

Kazuki was our driver and he had a great personality, made us laugh, knew english very well and even a little bit of spanish! He took us on a 45 min tour and gave us descriptions of every place we saw and even stopped two ladies dressed in kimonos to take a picture with us! Thoroughly impressed and pleased with Kazuki!

I made a reservation when I went to Asakusa with my best friend. It was my first time riding a rickshaw, so I was nervous at first. I was wearing a kimono and sandals, so it was difficult to keep my balance, but they supported me with their hands and got me on.

It was a bit chilly that day, but they had a warming device on the seat and a blanket (lap blanket) was also placed on me, so I didn't feel cold at all even while riding.

While riding, I could feel the wind and sometimes we went quite fast, so it was a lot of fun.

The scenery seen from the rickshaw was completely different from the scenery seen on foot, so I was able to enjoy it from a different perspective.

During the 45-minute course, they took a lot of wonderful photos at each photo spot with their smartphone at the best angle.
In addition to posing, they considered the way the sun was hitting the spot, and took photos from the side and back.
Their camera skills were also amazing.

They also took me around parts of Asakusa that I had never known before, and I was able to learn about many new places.
I was surprised to see backstreets, the latest spots, and famous restaurants that only those in the know would know about.

The conversation during the ride was also very fun, and the rickshaw driver had a lot of knowledge about Asakusa, and he taught me a lot of things.

He occasionally threw in jokes to keep the customers entertained, and I felt his professionalism in that way.

After the ride, he even fixed the obi belt on the back of my kimono, and I was moved by his warm consideration until the very end.

I'm really glad I rode in the rickshaw.
I was very satisfied.

Thank you to Tanaka Yuki-san for transporting me.
I had a very good time, and it's a memory that I'll cherish forever.

After the rickshaw ride, I wanted to take a photo in front of Kaminarimon, but just when I thought it would be difficult to take a photo because there were so many people, another person from Ebisu-ya called out to me and said, "I'll just take a photo for you," and took a photo for me.
He took the best and most beautiful photos, and I was very impressed with his service.

I once again realized how wonderful the people at Ebisu-ya are.

Also, next time I ride a rickshaw, I will request Ebisu-ya.

Thank you very much.

Our family (with kids aged 3 and 5) had the pleasure of experiencing a rickshaw ride with Ebisuya n Asakusa with Taku. It was an absolute delight. Taku was nothing short of amazing. He had an incredible ability to connect with my two young kids, and had them laughing throughout the entire ride. They quickly fell in love with Taku and are still talking about him a month later! It was a genuine, fun and truly amazing experience. I highly recommend Ebisuya and Taku for a memorable experience in Tokyo.

Dear daojianp, Thank you very much for choosing Ebisuya Rickshaw to travel around the Asakusa area of Tokyo. We (and our guide Taku) are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tour and overall experience. Though all our guides receive the same training they all bring their unique personality to the rickshaw ride and therefore make it a unique experience. While Asakusa has a rich history which may be fascinating for adults, there are also many sights and stories the guide can share to keep all participants of the tour interested. We hope the memory of your tour will stay with you for a long time to come... until you come and 'update' it with another rickshaw tour when you visit again some day. Kind Regards, Larissa EBISUYA Rickshaw

I absolutely wanted to get in a rickshaw for the pleasure of using this means of locomotion.
Also, my son and I travelled the Asakusa neighborhood by rickshaw with Kazu, a charming young man who explained the different places we visited. It was super nice and very informative.
I thank Kazu who "walked" us with a smile despite the humid heat and who kindly took our picture and greeted us in French
1000 thanks Kazu!

Top notch! Guides were hilarious and engaging, they accommodated where we wanted to go even though it was out of the way (it did increase the tour time and the cost slightly, but they advised us ahead of time and we agreed. No surprises. And we were more than happy with the tour we got!) we were a party of 6 (4 kids aged 15,13,9,6) so they arranged 3 rickshaws. We were quite the parade! Guides were amazing and even sang! Great service!

I cannot recommend this Rickshaw tour in Asakusa enough, especially if Hiro (Hiroki Yago) is your Rickshaw guide. He made it an unforgettable 45 min ride with his great humour, charm and knowledge. If you're wondering whether it's worth spending the money, then I'm happy to tell you yes, it is worth every penny. We smiled all the way, while being told interesting facts about places we never would've known or seen on our own.

It was easy to find them. Hiro was waiting for us with a big sign straight outside Asakusa station (exit A1)

Thank you for a wonderful tour and for all the great photos!

We paid £100 for 45 minutes for 2 people.

Dear Lindsay, Thank you very much for taking a rickshaw tour with our guide Hiroki in Tokyo Asakusa. We are happy to hear that you had a great time with our guide, exploring the Asakusa area of Tokyo. Thank you also so much for recommending the tour! There are a few ways of finding our staff and guides in Asakusa, but it is important to look for the correct exit of the Asakusa Station, as there two separate stations. Our rickshaw stand is located within a few meters of exit #1 of the Asakusa Station on the TOKYO METRO GINZA LINE. The exit A1 is actually for the different train line and quite a far walk away from our rickshaw stand! We hope you have an equally awesome time exploring Tokyo as you had during our rickshaw tour. See you again some day! Best Regards, Larissa C EBISUYA Rickshaw

The tour itself had limitations because of the language barrier but our driver Goro Maeno had great energy and gave us a very good experience. What took this from four stars to five was his photography. He bust out all sorts of creative shots, using portrait mode, black/white shots, and even a vertical panorama! His effort and work ethic had to be commended.

Goki was our tour guide he’s really really funny as well as the most informed tour guide he actually went over the time to show us around and was ever informative It’s really worth the money I don’t think that I’d have such an amazing time this was an experience that topped my list.
I actually accidentally left my umbrella on his tour rickshaw he ran all the way into the market to return it to me I really think the service is good for any tourist that has not seen this particular area of Japan He even recommended a good place to eat which we did after the tour and yes it was absolutely delicious.
I think it was very memorable because he took it to the temple and showed us exactly the way that we should be doing their traditions I would do this tour again with this company again thank you very very much!

Dear Lovely143, Thank you very much for taking a rickshaw tour with our guide in Tokyo Asakusa. Thank you as well for your lovely comment, detailing highlights of the experience, both on and off the rickshaw. We are super pleased to hear that the rickshaw tour in Tokyo Asakusa topped your list! Our guides study and practice a lot before being able to become rickshaw guides. Besides driving the rickshaw safely, navigating it in the busy roads alongside cars, scooters, buses but also pedestrians, they go beyond the textbook when studying the history and culture of Asakusa in order to give you a detailed, yet informative and fun narrative of the sights. Of course, Ebisuya Rickshaw has its own sense of hospitality, which your guide perfectly portrayed in finding you to return your umbrella. Our guides are locals of the area and want to make sure you have an amazing and unforgettable time on and off the rickshaw, so being able to ask him for suggestions for good places to eat or drink is definitely a plus. Come and visit us again some day! Best Regards, Larissa C EBISUYA Rickshaw

It was a veeeerrrryyyy great time! I was impressed that Ryo gave us a detailed description in English and took pictures with great enthusiasm! If you can speak Japanese, it'll be more informative and pleasant conversation with him. Even if you doesn't speak Japanese, he'll do his best to explain it in English, and he's basically very kind, make us very comfortable, and entertaining. Like we did! I'd like to see Ryo again! He was so kind and thankful, and I recommend him to everyone!!!
