Your Tokyo walking tour and sushi class begins by meeting your guide at a location near Tsukiji Outer Fish Market. Enter the market, and see the huge variety of fresh fish and seafood on offer—from sea urchins to crabs, to octopus, and giant tuna. It’s a real feast for all the senses and there will be some samples along the way.

Next, this seafood extravaganza takes you to local shops where you’ll be educated about Japanese kitchen tools and accompaniments. Time permitting, you may even get a chance to go to a shrine.

The tour progresses to a cooking class at one of the largest culinary schools in Asia, where you’ll learn ‘washoku’ recipes (traditional cooking). Dishes usually include a sushi roll, a Japanese omelet, and side dishes. The day ends with eating what you created for lunch, with your choice of plum sake, wine, or soft drinks.

Simple Fun & Friendly Tour Guide & Chef

We had a blast. Naomi - our guide communicated well, was genuinely courteous, cordial, and very friendly. Expectations were communicated clearly. Pace of the tour was casual and good. Kitty - our chef was very patient, encouraging and entertained our 'trying' curiosity :)

Sure he can join but he may not be able to participate in the sushi making class part of the activity. You should email the tour company and check.

I would estimate the distance walked on this tour is about 3 city blocks. The fish market area has narrow wet walking pavements. The cooking class could give her a chair if needed. It’s a fun tour and class!
