Beyond expectations, dedicated tour leaders, magical experience.
I went on the 11 day Kimberley Loop tour, the Kimberley has been on my bucket list for many years and this tour was beyond expectations! Would highly recommend. Our tour guides (Clancy and Sarah) were exceptional, they were very kind and fun! They were knowledgeable about the local area and Indigenous culture. They were very organised and safely got us to each destination. They cooked amazing, fresh and healthy food every day and catered for everyone’s dietary needs! They really looked after us and ensured we kept hydrated and provided plenty of snacks too! The tour destinations were amazing! We went to so many beautiful gorges. Lake Argyle and Bungle Bungles were highlights. We opted for the camping plus which meant we had a mix of tents, glamping and cabins. Travelling at the end of season made it very hot but there were fewer crowds which was amazing! One of the best trips and tours I’ve been on and highly recommend!

          Lovelyyy
Just finished the 11 day tour with guides Clancy & Sarah. I highly recommend this tour / this company. Everything was véry wel organized. The guides were punctual and made sure the whole group was as well. This way, we had the possibilitie to swim / relax after arriving at the campsite most days. The pace of the trip is really good, only a few days where you’re in the car for a long time. They were informative about the culture, nature and history of the area. And they were very witty and made us almost forget about the heat or mosquitos with their jokes. They even kept being polite after explaining some things for the millionth time ^_^ Before hikes / activities started, they gave detailed descriptions so everyone could decided for themselves if they were able to do it. Some of the hikes even had the option to stay behind halfway, if you miscalculated your own abilities beforehand. I stayed in a basic tent, which was fine for me alone. The group wasn’t full so i didn’t have to share. Last but not least; the food was awesome. They had fresh ingredients and made the most tasteful meals. And there were heeps of different snacks!

The magic of sleeping under the stars
This trip well exceeded our expectations. Before hand I had been a bit anxious that I might not cope with the overlander adventure deep into the Kimberleys but in fact every moment of the tour was enjoyable, from sleeping under the stars in a swag to pondering the significance of the wonderful rock art we saw. Our guides, Zane and Pat, were tremendous. They freely shared their extensive knowledge of the landscape, the wildlife, the history of the region and the art and culture of the Aboriginal people. They made every experience sparkle with meaning. (And Pat's cooking was awesome.)

The Kimberley at it's best with Kimberley Wild
We just got back from the most amazing 14 day tour of the Kimberleys. Tour was 14 day Kimberley Trail. We booked the tour as an Intrepid basix trip but it can be booked direct with KWE and you should do this. Four nights of put up our own tents or swags and nine nights in tents at camps that were already set up. It was clearly going to be good from the moment we boarded the 4WD safari truck/bus in Broome. Super comfortable vehicle even when driving along the craziest corrugated roads. Great bunch of fellow travellers. Our guides Zane and Pat were fantastic. Zane so passionate about the Kimberley and the local indigenous communities. Pat just finishing his first year. I hope Kimberley Wild do everything they can to get Pat residency. Funny, equally passionate and a bloody good cook to boot. Not ever going to complain that they were both cute as too! Way too many highlights to list. So much incredible aboriginal art. Incredible scenery. Well paced walks. Great camps. Helicopter flights. So lucky to have been on Zane's last trip. Do this trip!!!

11 Day Wild Kimberley Loop | Adventure of a lifetime! Thank you to our awesome tour guide Gareth for an epic trip!
Would highly recommend Kimberley Wild Expeditions for your Kimberley adventure! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing and absolutely far exceeded expectations. The 11 day itinerary was very well-planned with a large variety of activities including hiking, swimming, waterfalls, caving, cultural experiences, travelling between key locations, regular food/tea breaks, fantastic camping facilities, and being able to enjoy some down time at the campfire after a long day of exploring. Our tour guide Gareth was absolutely fantastic. His easy going and thoughtful nature, skilled driving abilities, top notch cooking skills (especially the gluten free option for myself) and his genuine passion for delivering high quality experiences meant that we were able to have the most memorable and epic trip! I will definitely be recommending Kimberley Wild to all my friends. Thank you for an unforgettable trip! Until next time!

Kimberley Wild 13 Day Explorer Adventure - Danny, Maddy and Us
Visiting the Kimberley region of W.A. had been on our bucket list for a long time. The Kimberley Wild 13 day Explorer adventure did NOT disappoint. We started with a group of 5 adventurers, for 2 days on the Dampier Peninsula, seeing the most magnificent coastal features, crystal clear waters, and visiting local indigenous communities. Our guide, Danny did a sterling job driving, guiding, and educating us. Then, back to Broome, just in time for the full moon and the opportunity to see the Staircase to the Moon. Next day, we picked up 4 more adventurers (9 in total now) and our 2nd lieutenant Maddy. We then did the next 11 days exploring the Kimberley outback. We hiked into gorges, swam in beautiful waterholes, with raging waterfalls, did river cruises, lake cruises, helicopter flights over the Bungle Bungles, and generally made the most of every single day. Danny did a brilliant job of guiding, driving, and educating us on the local landscape, environment, culture etc. Maddy was tireless in unpacking the truck, preparing fantastic meals, packing the truck again, and generally being first up in the morning, and last to bed at night, while also guiding with the group. Both Danny and Maddy worked tirelessly, to ensure the group had the best possible experience, and both maintained a fantastic sense of humour throughout. We were not a group of 9 with 2 guides; we were a team of 11 people, with all being involved to make for a smooth and harmonious tour. Everyone helped with unpacking, packing, meal preparation (when Maddy allowed), washing up, collecting firewood etc. We absolutely loved our time on this unforgettable trip........so much that we were moved to write a song about the trip - Danny, Maddy and us. Thank you so much!!

          Fantastic experience
We began our 13 day Kimberley Wild Explorer on Friday 18th August 2023. The first 2 days was to Cygnet Bay hosted by Patrick. We would like to thank Patrick and especially James who is the owner of Kimberley Wild for their help with our luggage problem. The next 11 days was with Hannah and Zane. Zane's knowledge of the geological and cultural aspects of the Kimberley was extensive and highly informative. Hannah made some delicious meals. We enjoyed every meal and I even asked Hannah about her recipes and tips on cooking. Hannah and Zane were fantastic and their friendliness really made the tour the best we've ever had. We highly recommend Kimberley Wild Expeditions and cannot thank them enough for such a fantastic journey.

          Rugged, thrilling and enjoyable
The tour achieved its goal of enabling us to experience many facets of the Kimberley, which were spectacular. The range of experiences included gorge hiking, cruises, helicopter flights, meeting with an indigenous elder on country and various levels of camping. We chose the camping upgrade which we recommend. It’s was a rugged but thrilling experience, suitable for those with a sense of adventure and a good level of fitness and mobility. The tour is interactive meaning you pitch in with cooking, washing up and firewood gathering which built camaraderie and a fun atmosphere. The evening fireside chats and star gazing added to the experience. Maddie our host, wove her magic with the selection of delicious meals and unceasing energy to keep us well fed and happy. Danny our driver and tour guide, was ceaselessly positive and encouraging. His driving skills in very tough conditions were exceptional. He was motivational and instilled a level of confidence in the group. They made a great team with lots of humour and repartee. The tour company could improve this experience by providing an additional guide to give information on cultural, historical and flora and fauna features.

13-day Dampier Peninsula and Kimberley’s Tour
We can’t thank Danny and Maddy enough for the most unforgettable trip ever! Our 13-day adventure with nine other travellers was second to none. We explored gorges, waterfalls, lakes, caves, the Bungle Bungles, pearl farms, aboriginal culture and so much more. Although late in the season, we still had a brilliant time swimming at the falls and experiencing this amazing part of our country. We are an active couple and I loved the fact that Danny and Maddy took the time to let us walk and explore. The camps were fantastic and we didn’t do the upgrade for which I’m grateful as the facilities were fantastic. I liked that all travellers were encouraged to help set up camps and get their hands dirty. It is not a trip for anyone expecting to be waited on!!! Danny was a super guide who is extremely patient and has a great sense of humour, while Maddy was the best cook EVER and really worked hard to make sure we were all well looked after. You definitely don’t go hungry on this tour. We highly recommend it!

The best and easiest way to tour the Kimberley
My partner and I did the 11 Day Wild Kimberley Loop in August this year and it was amazing from start to finish. We were the youngest on our tour (aside from our incredible tour guides) by around 30 years which we did expect after reading the FAQs but it honestly was great getting to know everyone and hearing all of their life stories. You see some of the best parts of the Kimberley such as Galvans Gorge, Manning Falls and Emma Gorge (just to name a few) and as long as you are of reasonable fitness, as some of the hikes are lengthy and require a bit of rock scrambling then it is a great trip to go on to tick off some of the bucket list items. Our tour guides, Zane and Hannah, I cannot praise them enough. They were so very patient with helping each and every person who were wanting to get down to some of the gorges, it didn't matter if it took an hour to get somewhere, they stayed to help every step of the way. Hannah made some truly incredible meals for everyone each night and at not one point did anyone feel like they were going hungry, she was always happy and kind and a great person to chat to. Zane is so knowledgeable and passionate about so many different aspects of life and we really appreciated his talks on aboriginal culture, plants and animals. To be able to know the history of some of the places that we were visiting before even stepping foot inside was great unlike some tours that just bring you in for a happy snap and promptly leave. We cannot thank Hannah and Zane enough for really making this tour one of the best trips we have done in a long time! A quick mention also regarding the accommodation, I myself having not been a camper in the past may have just been converted. From our first night in tents with swags and sleeping bags, I knew that I could have easily done this whole trip without the camping plus upgrade. As we had already paid for the camping plus upgrade, the 5 nights that we did have upgrades provided a nice break from the camping but you honestly would be fine without the upgrade as most nights you are on stretcher beds in roomy tents on raised platforms. Kimberley Wild Expeditions are a great company, and we would definitely travel with them again in the future and would recommend anyone else to do so too, it has been a pleasure dealing with anyone within the company and we can't thank you all enough.

We did the Kimberly Wild 13 day tour that included the Dampier Peninsula, stays along the Gibb River Rd, Lake Argyle and the impressive Bungle Bungles . We had a fabulous time greatly enhanced by KWE’s brilliant guide Danny and talented cook, come assistant, Sarah. They were professional , organised, mindful of everybody in the group and great fun. They gave us a truly enjoyable tour of this wonderful part of Australia .

I booked two tours with Kimberley Wild before travelling to Broome. Both were cancelled due to insufficient numbers. One of the tours was cancelled more than a week beforehand so I booked a trip to Cape Leveque through another company. However with the tour to Windjana Gorge, I had a voicemail message advising me of the cancellation when I landed in Broome and the tour was 2 days later. I understand tour companies need to have a minimum number to make their tours financially worthwhile and also with COVID and the WA border being closed to a number of potential tourists this would make things difficult. However, even given the circumstances, my experience with Kimberley Wild was less than satisfactory. If you like to plan your trip, don’t bother with Kimberley Wild.

Early morning start at 6am but the excitement had built from days before... 1st time to this part of the world. They say the tour guide makes or breaks your trip and Joey was EXCELLENT. He got us talking among ourselves which drew the group closer together and was a wealth of knowledge. First stop for morning tea at Wilare Roadhouse about an hour half out of Broome, lots to eat, stretch legs before boarding for the prison tree, then Windjana Gorge, an inland reef (350 million years ago!) before lunch. The coach was very comfortable and Joey was very accommodating for toilet stops when requested. Tunnel Creek after lunch was spectacular and we even managed to see 1 of the 3 resident crocs in the cave. Our bonus was a quick detour to Derby, even though not on the itinerary and highly appreciated - thanks again Joey. Dinner at Wilare was superb, marking the end of a great adventurous day, more fellowship among the group, a few cold beers (well deserved!) and drop off at our hotel on schedule around 9pm. Great itinerary, well worth the cost and definitely recommended. Thanks to all.

My wife and I were part of the 13-07-2022 Kimberley Wild tour to Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek.

It was a memorable experience and enjoyable day. Usually, we travel alone and plan our own destinations, but with limited time for research and preparation we took the tour option for convenience, and were not disappointed.

It was a long drive, but we are used to the long distances between locations in WA and find that this enhances the experience of arriving at a destination as spectacular as Windjana Gorge; a magnificent and imposing monolith rising out of the surrounding flat, low scrub surroundings.

The day tour was nicely balanced by the contrast of the afternoon visit to the Tunnel Creek destination and the cave trek, something we would not have attempted if we had been travelling alone.

We were very impressed by the 100% effort put in by the tour guide, Sean - his detailed and informative commentary that brought everything together and his enthusiasm and energy that made the day seamlessly integrated.

Kimberley Wild are a really fantastic company to take you on this kind of an adventure. The tour had a good balance of safety and adventure. Our  two guides were truly wonderful, both were really great company, always happy to chat on the walks and they always made sure every single person in our group were included in activities and were enjoying the experience.
Clancy provided us with a knowledgable commentary on all the places we visited, all done with great respect for local culture. Hannah cooked us so many delicious meals, it was so amazing having poached eggs with smoked salmon and bearnaise sauce at Lake Argyle, yummo!!
Both guides kept everyone on time to get going to  beat the heat in the middle of the day , and it was always done with humour and kindness.
Our group were all lovely people, mixed ages and some couples, some singles.
The truck we travelled in was very comfortable, and it was very handy having the usb chargers in the seat so mobile phones can be kept charged for taking our photographs.
I would definitely book another trip with Kimberley Wild!!

A long day but a great one. Gary was a terrific and very entertaining tour guide who really knew his way around. Whilst it was disappointing that Tunnel Creek had recently been closed for safety reasons, our visit to the Norval Art Gallery in Derby was an interesting replacement. Seeing the prison boab tree was another tick off my Australian touring bucket list. And seeing the freshwater crocs at Windjana Gorge just snoozing in the water with leaves sitting on top of them was amazing. Gary was very sensitive when speaking about the history of that part of the Kimberley. The food was plentiful - you don't go hungry on these tours! Dinner at the Willare Bridge Roadhouse was delicious and filled the gap just nicely.

We went on the day trip with Joey to the windjana gorge and Tunnel creek. The scenery was stunning and Joey was very accomodating. Being a mobility challenged person, I knew before hand that it would be a challenge to go down the tunnel. Joey brought out a chair and let me sit in a cool area just outside the tunnel whilst waiting for my husband and the rest of the group to return. The scenery around me was breathtaking, I was out of the hot sun’s way and a gentle breeze kept me cool. My husband rated the trip a 10/10 even higher that he rated the full day horizontal fall seaplane adventure. When Joey dropped us off at the visitor center at 9pm, he drove us as close as possible to our car and waiting till we are safe inside our car before he left. Not many guides will do that. Thank you Joey !!

        - One Day Wanjana and Tunnel creek trip

The best and most  comprehensive, well organised one day trip ever!! The trip from the moment of booking with Jeri in the office; the knowledgable and enthusiastic guide Joe; the incredible environment, landscape, wildlife, itinerary with fresh lunch included.  Amazing Kimberley scenery including magic tunnels and gorges made this the most enjoyable experience. Every trip short or long with Kimberley Wild Expeditions is great value and a lifetime experience.

Make sure you take your noise cancelling headphones with you. You will be in a very very very loud bus for 11 hours of travelling. You will spend one hour at an amazing tunnel and another hour at the gorge an hour for dinner and an hour for morning tea and the Boab tree. The rest is vibrating on the noisy bus. The journey is interesting if you are looking at how the pastoralists are destroying country for hamburger mince and live export. However we also have traces of hope with the Devonian restoration projects. The day was simply too long for us however the company employ great people.

Thank you for your review Sharon. So pleased that you enjoyed the day out, despite the distances we have to travel. The sheer size of the Kimberley - twice the size of Victoria, is difficult to fathom until you are travelling here.

Sloshing through the subterranean Tunnel Creek was a great experience, but experiencing the lush nature in historic Windjana Gorge was a delight.
James our guide had a remarkable gift of telling long rambling stories that would come to their conclusion just as we arrived at a key location from the tale. Impressive!
